Q: The device wont stop beeping after calibration and will not locate a stud?

No, it calibrated just fine and would find studs as well. my other stud finder verified it. The problem is the battery compartment cover is cheaply made and pops off. I wrapped the damn thing with packing tape and used it anyway.
