Buyer Beware, learn from my mistake
Great concept for a product, but the reliability of the product is inconsistent at best. For starters this is a tool to create videos for production. At this price point you would think people are fairly serious about quality of the video they are working with. Out of the box this will make loud chirps every time you change shooting modes. Who would want this? In order to change this you need to download a very extensive program to silence the device. This is not something that you will be you can do in the field. I am a wedding photographer, and after three different attempts to use this product it has failed in one form or another. The last attempt this weekend, it would not start at all. I have had it start but jitter the entire time. This being with the same camera being used that they produced their own Youtube training video with, Canon 70d. I cannot recommend this item, and now i've had it too long to return. Learn from my mistake.ps it does feel solid and comes with a nice case. I'd love it if it worked consistently and i could count on it.

It only took me about 10 minutes to get it perfect. But there are no alignment marks or memory ...
I'm using this to stabilize a Nikon D750 with 16-35mm f/4 VR lens. That combo comes in at about 1400g with battery, which is under the max weight limit for the DS1. The DS1 was the least expensive stabilizer I could find for a 1400g combo. In test footage, it does the job magnificently. For this (or any) stabilizer to work properly, the camera & lens have to be perfectly balanced side-to-side and front-to-back when mounted BEFORE you turn the stabilizer on. Two issues come into play balancing the DS1:1) My camera/lens combo is large. The camera body must slide way back on the mount to offset the weight of the lens out front. I have about 1/4" between the back of the camera and the stabilizer remaining. This prevents the stabilizer handle from having full range of motion side-to-side and front-to-back. For my application, this is not a problem. I mounted the entire unit on an Ikan grip (which I also recommend). But if you plan to use a larger camera/lens and want free movement, keep this in mind. Get a DJI Ronin M for $1k instead.2) Balancing the camera/lens requires lots of trial and error. It only took me about 10 minutes to get it perfect. But there are no alignment marks or memory locks to preserve your balance points. If you remove the camera, you have to repeat the balance process from scratch next time you want to use the stabilizer. It would be nice if there were index marks or some kind of memory devices that would allow you to remount the camera exactly at the predetermined balance point. I removed 1 star from an otherwise 5 star product for this.

Pretty good
Great little stabilizer. Works well and feels like its at least decent quality. Should last well as long as it is well cared for.Had a little trouble at first with one of the motors humming and creating vibration but after watching some of the TRD videos I came across one where he was dealing with a similar camera to mine and had the exact same issue I was having and the resolution was the LCD flip out screen was out and not tilted up or down. At least with Panasonic GH cameras, the tilt screen needs to be either against the camera body or it needs to be tilted up or down when its flipped out, it can't be just straight up and down like it would be if it was against the camera body.My other small gripe would be that the handle isn't very grippy and its easy to be holding the stabilizer and unintentionally turn it off or move the joystick. I think for most uses I will want either an extended grip pole or a 2 handle contraption. This isn't huge and can certainly be dealt with, but its a minor annoyance.Looking forward to the remote control that is apparently on the way.I'll update more if I feel the need.

Other thing I didn't like is that it has a limited motor operation
I think this is way too expensive for the limitations it has... The device trembles when moving the camera quickly, this in a way makes me unable to rely on its functionallity, because the trembling shows in the footage. Other thing I didn't like is that it has a limited motor operation, having two stop locks that keep the item from rotating freely.. severla times I had the camera bounce onto the limit when moving around.

Probably my favorite piece of camera equipment
Probably my favorite piece of camera equipment. Solid build. Easy to use. End results are as good as it gets! Honestly I'm shocked. I expected it to be sort of ok. But as I've used it in hundreds of hours of film, it's been bulletproof! The batteries it comes with are great in terms use duration. One of them did fail me, but the replacement was only $25 for three of them, so I haven't lost any sleep over it. The charger is easy to use, but cuts your hand when you take it out of its spot. Stupid design, but great charger in function alone.

It's amazing
This is worth it ! It's a learning experience though so don't expect to be perfect the very first time you try it. Be patient and practice a lot and you'll get the hang of it and shoot just like the pros

This is my first gimble and it's amazing I used it on one of my weddings I shot and I worked flawlessly with my a7s and I got my order really fast my only con is that one of the axis motors sits right in front of my camera LCD screen but other then that I recommend it and it's one of the cheapest compared to the competition
