This fish is a little noisy but not too loud. It came with a bag of catnip and 2 pouches to fill with the catnip and place inside the fish which there are pockets for. It also came with a fishing rod and line so you can hook the fish and play with your cat. I am hoping my cat will get more physical play with it when she gets used to it but for now she likes to watch it flop around and then bites at its tail when it pauses .

Awesome toy. Charlie is more active all the time and losing weight. He adores it. It excites his prey drive and then he plays with his other toys too. If you want a happy cat, get one. The blanket is to soften the tapping noise on the bare floor so the neighbors don't hear it. Update: Original purchase Feb 2021. It finally is on its last flips. Not holding a charge anymore and it's pretty bedraggled. Just ordered a replacement. Charlie has to attack to get it to flip flop. Flip flop is weaker in action. Which he rarely plays with it now, because it's boring. Once the new one arrives The fish will get gutted and stuffed So after over 3 years of play time, here is the lowdown on it. The battery is like in some reviews not that long lasting as per charge. The flipping action drains the battery fairly quickly, but then the cat is worn out and sleeping. You then just recharge it. It has lasted over three years before the motor and battery are getting decrepit. I think it's well worth the money. It still gets attacked when the battery is dead, just shorter sessions as it's not as much fun. I have noticed in the last few months the decline in action and battery life. So, the lifespan of the toy is 3 years. You will have to plan to get a second one then. Or get two and alternate as half the wear and tear should make it last twice as long. Charlie adores it and so I am getting him a new one. This one should last him the rest of his life. Not bad for a happy senior cat.

Hard to charge (hard to reach the USB mini port on the side of the unit, which resides behind a little tiny zipper on the top of the plush toy). Doesn't hold a charge for very long. Okay, those are my complaints...but now let's look at it from the cat's P.O.V. He loves it. It's tough enough that my 15 pound tabby can really wrestle with it. He was however, a bit intimidated at first. If you have a bored cat, this is one remedy. BTW, the catnip included with the unit was garbage; the cat didn't react to it at all, probably very stale catnip. Get some fresh when you buy this fantastic kitty toy!

I have cats that love to hug and kick things, as well as pounce on moving targets, so I thought this would be perfect. At first, both cats were scared of it because it is very loud (both the movement mechanism and thumping when it's activated). Eventually, one of them attacked it. The sensor isn't as sensitive as I'd hoped, and doesn't always respond when the swat it, making them lose interest. The other thing I've noticed is that it doesn't always auto shut off, just about running itself dead. I had hoped for something the cats could amuse themselves with when I was busy, but at the very least this has to be manually shut off at bedtime or I risk being woke up by the noise it makes, and I find myself having to activate it for them sometimes when it doesn't respond to them. Hopefully the other kitty will come around to it. Overall a little subpar. And good luck inserting the catnip sachet into the tiny opening!

Don’t waste your time and money. I charged the inner portion as directed but the light never went off to indicate it was charged after being plugged in for a few hours. I still gave it a try, but it barely moved when turned on. I requested a replacement, thinking the one I had was just defective, but the second one was worse. Again after charging for more than a hour, the light never went off and it appears the battery overheated and swoll up inside the case. Very disappointing and dangerous.

Our cat has had one of these fish for several years and has thoroughly enjoyed playing with it. I had lost hope of ever finding another one since they aren't in the stores anymore. So glad I found the same fish to replace his old one that is getting tired!

For whatever reason, my cat loves these. I just replaced the last one he destroyed. The 1st replacement had a charging issue, but Amazon quickly replaced it, and the new one works great!

We were really looking forward to receiving this product, as it just looks like such a complete and total BLAST on all the TV commercials that - forget about giving it to the cat - I really was looking forward to playing with it by myself!! Well, it came on time, as promised, which was wonderful, but that was about the last of the wonderful surprises we had out of this product. We received just about NOTHING that was listed under the little 'this set includes' contents list on the product's box except for the Flippity Fish himself, Flippity's little internal electronic charging mechanism which'll eventually cause him to 'flip' (please, oh please, Lord Jesus on your BEMA in heaven, PLEEAASE let this thing ACTUALLY flip!!!), and last but in no way finally NOT least, the fishing pole - which I'm actually just starting to understand how incredibly and extremely way-out-there, shooting-for-the-moon, beyond-the-breath-of-angels-&-holy-saints-LUCKY we were to even breathe the same air as this item!! And forget about contacting this seller to let them know that you're missing items from your order. This seems to be not just a TALL order, but nigh unto IMPOSSIBLE. It's a good thing we merely ordered a kitteh toy, and not anything that carries any sort of life and death gravitas to it either way (although, don't tell the kitteh that, because as soon as he saw the toy, he fell over onto his back and stopped moving for about 20 monutes. He's fine now, by the way. Thanks for caring). But the only way I could have POSSIBLY gotten through to this seller was to write this SCATHINGLY dramatic review, with too many capitalised words and a photo of the cat on his back not moving. I'm sure it won't really do any good, but it makes the cat feel better anyway.

Cheap nasty garbage, the use connection inside the fish broke in no time and can no longer charge it. There are laws against selling products with faulty workmanship. I demand a refund for this useless piece of rubbish - how dare you rip people off with faulty garbage like this

Best $20 ever spent! My kitten wrestles with this for hours! It's durable and affordable. I wish it had a longer charge but overall this is a great Cat/Kitten toy!

For the money it is great value. At first I think the noise it makes scared my cat, but if you start playing with them with the fish, that helps. Video taken on day 2. Battery life could be longer but at the same time it charges very quickly so no biggie.

The charging port broke off the first time i plugged it in.
