Curls

My almost 2-year old with a thick head of curls LOVES this book! She immediately wanted to read it over and over again. The words are a poem and she loves to imitate the sounds and cadence of it. As someone always looking for good books for my toddler portraying diverse characters, I’d highly recommend this one!

Curls is such a beautiful book. And even in its small compact form for the littlest of readers, it tells us so much! We celebrate these young girls with their crowns a glow!, their braids swinging, and their curls delighted in. Ruth Forman and Geneva Bowers give us poetry and pictures that revel in the beauty of Black girls' hair and spirits and call for self-love. So happy the young ones have this book to see themselves reflected in and loved on!!

Geneva's art in this book is amazing and really brings out the magic in these scenes of everyday life.

I purchased for my niece and she absolutely adores it. Plus the beautiful child on the cover looks like her. Wonderful book for all girls of color.

This was one of the gifts I purchased for my granddaughter who’s turning 2 on Thursday. She loves books she can’t read yet☺️but she loves to look at the pics. Came new and in great shape can’t wait to read it too her..

This is a poetic affirmation of the different types of beautiful that we see in ourselves, even at the earliest of our self-awareness! Great book for our little ones!
