Does the black enamel chip off? I don’t want residue in my frit glass. Is there a uncoated metal version of this?

Yes it leaves paint in glass frit. The first time I pushed the plunger it did break the glass but left little bits of black paint in it. I can’t find one that isn’t painted. They clearly didn’t think this through

Do you think this would crush a black walnut? Or has anyone cracked one with it?

I think it would pulverize a black walnut. Not what I would use. A regular nutcracking device would do the trick. I have to be careful when crushing certain stones as this thing can turn them into powder. I believe the primary use is to try and break up gold ore to try and extract the gold.
