For those working in industrial automation: yes this works on Windows 10. Godspeed if you're still working over serial though

Works well with Linux

Use with 2 laptops - one Windows 10, one Windows 11. I plugged the adapter into a USB port on each laptop in turn and each one recognized the adapter instantly. Going to Device Manager I found that the adapter appeared as COM3, 9600,8,N,1 on both machines. Was able to re-assign the port number to what I needed without any problem. I did not need the included CD to set up and use the device. HOWEVER when I went to plug the male end on the adapter into the female socket on the device I was connecting I discovered that the 9-pin RS-232 plug on the adapter has FEMALE screw sockets instead of male screws to attach it with. It was impossible to plug the adapter into the female receptacle on the device I was trying to connect. This is stupid. RS-232 has been around forever, and the MALE end should have the screw connectors and the FEMALE end have the screw sockets. I had to use an RS-232 extension cable in order to connect the adapter to the device.

The studs are on the wrong side keeping the plug from plugging in and you cannot actually use the screw in pins so it does not function with any of my monitors.

Worked great to Hook up to an ion8650 electric meter to my laptop. Just what I needed and affordable.

The usb to serial adapter shows up in windows as a "usb to serial" device, not as a com port. Apparently requires manufacturer's driver to function.

Used to connect a vintage Palm PDA to a modern computer that only has USB ports, worked fine. Also tested the additional signals (such as CTS/RTS and so on) using a terminal program, these seem to work as well. Decent product overall.

古いネームランドのリンクケーブルはRS232Cなので、変換用に購入しました。 すでに別の変換ケーブルは持っているのですが、固定用のメスネジ付きが気に入って追加購入。しっかり固定できて良いです。 Windows11できちんと認識し、ProfiIicのドライバがインストールされました。 ネームランドとの接続は別のケーブル同様、COM4からCOM1へ変更しないと動作しないのも同じ。 安定した動作で満足してます。

This product works as described. However, please pay attention to whether you need a female/male connectors - to secure the product to your port.

Funktioniert super auch insbesondere mit Windows 11 25H2, einfach anstecken, und Windows installiert den Treiber selbstständig, hatte mit andere Adapter immer wieder Problem damit aber bei diesem einwandfrei. Es gibt auch im Device Manager einige Einstellmöglichkeit wie Busrate etc.

Si bien en mi nota anterior (abajo) os indicaba que necesitaríais descargar unos drivers desde vaya usted a saber dónde, he estado haciendo pruebas con Windows 11 y funciona usando los drivers que hay en el CD incluido, lo que nos da más seguridad. La versión del controlador que viene es la 3.8.12.0, del 3/3/2017. Aunque no es la misma versión que mencionaba en la nota, el puerto funciona sin ningún problema. Por tanto, si usas un ordenador con Windows 11 o tienes pensado actualizar tu máquina no te preocupes que podrás usar el cable. <<NOTA OBSOLETA (29/10/2021)>> Os preguntaréis por qué le pongo una reseña con la máxima puntuación a un dispositivo del que digo en el título que no funciona. El producto es un cable de calidad, con buena construcción y que funciona correctamente sin drivers en Windows 10. Puesto que lo compré antes del lanzamiento de Windows 11, en el momento en que lo compré cumplía con mis necesidades y ofrece lo que promete, por tanto el fabricante no merece una mala nota. El caso es que hoy (29/10/2021) he actualizado mi portátil a Windows 11 y he probado si detecta correctamente los cables que tengo, llevándome la sorpresa de ver que en el administrador de dispositivos aparecía en la descripción el siguiente mensaje: "L2303TA DO NOT SUPPORT WINDOWS 11 OR LATER, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER". Al acceder a la web del fabricante (Prolific) aparece como "(EOL)", con lo que ya no está soportado por el fabricante. Muy posiblemente cuando leas esta reseña ya hayan salido unos drivers actualizados, en ese caso puedes ignorarla. Si no es así y usas Windows 11 busca otro producto porque este no te servirá, al menos con los drivers integrados en Windows. Si tu ordenador tiene una versión anterior de Windows y no piensas (o no puedes) actualizarlo puedes comprarlo sin problemas. Si aun así quieres comprarlo y usarlo con Windows 11, he encontrado en un foro un mensaje diciendo que con una versión antigua de los drivers (Windows WDF WHQL Driver v3.8.25.0 (December 7, 2018)) funciona sin problemas. Personalmente no lo he probado, dejo a tu elección si intentarlo o no.
