I'm new to gardening  so would like to know if the product is natural and organic?

Lechuza Pon is not a natural or organic product.  LECHUZA-PON consists of high quality, mineral stones, that are free from contamination and pollutants.

LECHUZA-PON has the optimal air/water ratio for plants of 45% water / 55% air. The vulnerability to diseases is reduced. Even after some time, the structurally stable plant substrate does not condense and it keeps its air-permeable structure. LECHUZA-PON can be used for years, without having to be replaced!

If you are looking for an organic natural product I would push you in the direction for TerraPon and VeggiePon supplied by Lechuza, these would be classed as natural and organic products.

Question 2

Why there is white mould on the surface of my pots of different type? Clean roots, no organic matter, they have good air flow. So far plants look ok

In principle, LECHUZA-PON shouldn’t allow for mould to build up on the surface, as it does not consist of organic material - but dead roots or leaves can be a breeding ground for fungi in high humidity and moist substrate surfaces. The frequent occurrence in the autumn and winter months is related to the higher relative humidity indoors. There is also a possibility that mould spores are brought into the house on hands and clothing which has landed onto the PON via touch.

The emergency plan
Remove a layer of mould-monitoring plant substrate approx. 5cm thick from the surface. Wash it thoroughly and boil it in hot water, this will sterilise the PON. Then, put the dried substrate back into the planter. It is important that no dead plant parts remain in the substrate and that the plant is kept slightly drier. You can also prevent the formation of mould by immediately removing and disposing of fallen leaves, dead or diseased plant parts ie roots.

PON is reusable for its lifetime so please wash, sterilise and reuse multiple times.

The substance zeolite stabilizes the ideal PH balance for healthy plant growth in your LECHUZA planter. Macro and micronutrients remain permanently.
The purely mineral plant substrate prevents the fungus that attacks the roots. PON is therefore suited for people that may have allergies.
