This Brabantia clothes dryer makes going back to basics stylish, functional and cool. I wanted an outdoor clothes line (after my retractable single line Minky broke) that was sturdy, unassuming and easy to use. I got all of this and more with this one! I'm a big believer of buying the best you can afford, even with a clothes line! I am a 5'3" woman and 118 pounds...even I was able to put the soil spear in the ground in 15 minutes. I was lucky enough to receive this the day after we had two days of torrential downpour. If not for that, in fairness to others who had trouble with installation, I don't think I would have been able to execute this myself as our soil is clay and very rocky...I got lucky with the rain and placement as I got it right in my first shot. No cement was necessary as the metal spear goes in far enough into the ground. It holds a large amount of laundry! I was even able to hang a queen size comforter and heavy duvet cover flat on top of the lines at a lower level...it worked perfectly! It was a mildly windy day and it spun around nicely and easily without a noticeable strain at all even with the weight of all that on top of it. I love how the lines go up and down super smoothly without any tangles. And the cover is a wonderful bonus and much nicer in quality than I was expecting (the packaging states that it's a separate purchase but it came with it). I should add that I was informed of a 1-2 month delivery time at the time of purchase (I was willing to wait) and it came in one week! I am super happy with this purchase and recommend this with no reservations. I haven't owned this long but I hang laundry outside 3-4 times weekly and based on the quality and functionality of this rotary dryer, I expect to use this for a long time. Thank you Brabantia for providing a quality dryer for those who care to pay more and buy once versus pay less and buy multiple times.

This is a pricey clothesline but very well made, sturdy. I love the hanger openings at the ends of each line arm. It was easy to assemble the stake and holder of the clothesline. It was fairly easy to hammer the stake into the ground. I followed the directions and used about a 1/2" board placed on top of the stake and a rubber hammer to bang it in. It was a hot summer morning, but we had some rain which made the ground a bit softer to hammer this in. That took brawn though. While I did a pretty good job hammering it straight into the ground, I did not follow the directions, (forgot and was hot) and place the clothesline into the holder to make sure it is straight, not tilted - mine was a bit. To correct for my mistake which I discovered when it was about 3/4 into the ground, I simply took the board and wacked the offending side and then eyeballed how straight the clothesline was - not perfect but better. Then I replaced the dirt into the spaces between the stake and the ground (kind of pressed them in as it's a tight fit which is good) and them place the grass I dug up around the stake. I had a different' brand years ago but it required concrete to secure the holder. This is a much better holder application. It is very solid in the ground. It holds a lot of clothes - definitely 1 full washer load, maybe 2 but the clothes dry so quickly on the line, they are off before the 2nd wash is done. I am happy I got the 197' product as sheets and towels fit well. I would definitely put bedspreads on it and anything big or bulky - it's large enough and strong. The clothesline is strong enough to hold wet towels and not hang or pull the other side askew. I am very pleased i got this and I think it will last a long time.

Bought this originally in 2018 & still going strong! Did not use it for a 2 years, due to moves, but recently got it back out again! No issues with rust! Easy to use! Convenient to remove and mow the lawn! No issues at all with functionality after all these years! Highly recommend! Love how I can easily adjust the height based on what I need to dry!

I bought this to use on my deck. (There are too many deer where I live to put it in my yard!) I'd installed it in an umbrella stand, and with the rack only half-filled, it tipped over and two of the arms got bent. It took some doing, but I finally got them straight enough to use again, though they're still obviously bent. At that point, I got a different stand where the sheath for the pole was much longer and the stand is also a planter box with two wheels to make it easier to move when needed. That was not only very sturdy, it made it so I could roll the whole thing indoors when I needed to do laundry when it was too wet or cold outside. I like the fact that it can be folded up and covered when not in use. It keeps the lines clean, and has a more attractive profile that way, especially with it indoors for the winter. The cover happens to be in a color that works with my furnishings (indoors and out), helping it to blend in rather than stick out. I like that it's waterproof, has a good zipper that slides easily, and even though I'm on the short side (5'3"), I can take it off and put it back on without difficulty. I love the smell of laundry dried on a line. Nothing is better than sleeping on sheets dried outdoors on a clothesline! I particularly love the fact that my electric bill went down 25%, even though there were more days in the billing cycle, and the average temperature only went down 1%, according to the bill I got the month after I started using it. I'd no idea the dryer used that much electricity! I'll be moving soon, and I've told my realtor that my new home must be in an area that will allow me to keep using this clothesline. Anything else is a deal-breaker!

Item is as described. I saw these in Lowe's and Home Depot for less than half the price but passed on them due to the holes the lines pass through having sharp edges, from the hole punching process, would cut the lines over time, and the over all light and cheap feel they had to them. On the picture of this one it appeared the holes had a smooth insert and it looked more sturdy than the ones I saw at the stores mentioned. When I got the item I could tell by picking up the box that the item weighed at least 3 times more than the cheap ones I saw. After taking it out of the box I was immediately impressed. It was heavier material, sturdier, and just all around better made. The pole is very sturdy. I saw a review that was critical of the pole but mine is great. And the holes did have smooth inserts that will not cut through the lines. The top and bottom of the umbrella assembly are adjustable so you can lower the height of the lines quickly and easily. It also comes with a zippered cover that you can store it in when you are not using it. It comes with a base you drive into the ground that makes for quick put up and take down. The base has a cap that goes on it when line taken down. I live in sandy soil so the base drove into the ground pretty well using a 4lb sledge with a board on top of base to prevent sledge from damaging base. The hardest part for me was trying to keep it level as I drove it into the ground. If you live in clay land or rocky soil you may need a shovel or post-hole diggers to set it. You can set the base in concrete but I am pleased the way it is. I have dried several loads of clothes and have absolutely no complaints. The base also has four flanges on it that have holes in them. I think it could be mounted it to a wooden structure like the corner of a deck, wooden post, etc. using deck screws and/or a metal strap or 2 and you would still be able to put the line up and take it down all the same. For once, I feel like I hit a homerun with judging a product that I could not touch and inspect in person. I expect to get years of service from this product compared to only a few months or maybe weeks of service from the cheaper ones I found in stores. The lines are also individual from arm to arm meaning they don't pass through. They have a kind of "T" shaped end on them that you would turn parallel to the line to insert in the holes and then it turns perpendicular to the line so it won't come back out. Since the lines are individual between the arms, if one does happen to break the clothes in that same row on the other sections will not fall because they are on their own line. The ones I saw in stores had one continuous line for each row and all I could think of was my laundry becoming LAWNdry (sorry, I could not resist) when the sharp-edged holes cut the nylon line and that whole row of clothes all the way around fell. PROS: Well built Simple to set up Easy to use Adjustable to users height preference Is what is advertised Worth the price (to me) Cons: Does not hang the laundry for you. But seriously, I don't have anything negative to say about the product at this time. If something changes I will update my review. The only problem I had was Amazon's choice of shipment which I have already left feedback on if you want to check it out for a heads up.

Very nice clothes line. This will require you to pound the bar of the clothesline deep enough into the ground to stand upright and bear the weight without tilting. you'll need to take care doing it as well to not bend the top of the pipe so that the line part will fit over top of the part you dug into the ground. That being said, it folds out to plenty of space and is a square shape so you dont have to span the length of your yard to hang all of your clothes. It can hold quite a lot and will not rust in the rain or degrade in the sun. It comes with a nice cover that you can slide over top of the bars when you fold them in. If you are too fast sliding the cover on, you could potentially poke through the cover so again, take some care when covering it. It comes with a nice red rubber stopper for the top of the pipe that sticks out of the ground so you dont have to worry about a pet or someone hurting themselves on the exposed pipe.

I bought the Barbantia Lift-o-Matic after we got our first electric bill in our new-to-us house ($460!) I have had it in the back yard for a couple of days now and couldn't be happier with my purchase. I remember my grandmother's clothesline that she had most of my childhood and was hoping to find one that was every bit as strong and long lasting, but those proved to be out of my price range, and that's assuming the ones I looked at were even the same (I looked at the high end Barbantias.) I think for the $101 I spent on this model I got every pennies' worth and maybe more. The central pole is comparatively light weight but strong. I think it is aluminum but it doesn't feel (or sound) weak at all. It is lined with holes to about 1/3 of the way down from the top so you can adjust the arms to whatever angle/height you need. It looks like you can prop wet cushions or bulkier items on top of the unit by adjusting the arms down some, which I like. I was not expecting versatility in my clothesline! The arms feel equally strong, with the lines strung individually. It is not 100 yards of continuous line, and the way they are secured within the arms seems simple to replicate if, for example, one of my children decide to experiment with scissors or something near the line. You never know, it could happen, and I think from the looks of the line a pair of scissors will be about the only way they will break within the foreseeable future. It is like a reinforced plastic line, very solid and strong with a barely visible embedded webbing in it. It also feels like it is solid through and not that wimpy hollow plastic line. A heavy load will make them stretch a little but nothing has dragged the ground yet and I have dried a queen sized quilt and several towels already. The ground spike was something of a pain to get in the ground but I look at that as a good thing. If I had to really work to get it in then I don't think it will be coming out any time soon. The design with the plastic cap makes so much sense too - I can collapse the whole thing, hang it in the garage from the loop on the top of the dryer, and let the kids and dogs play all over the back yard or mow without worrying about avoiding the pole. Definitely have a sledge hammer, a strong piece of wood or a 2x4, and a level out there with you. You don't want to hammer directly on the spike as it will get deformed quickly, and you want to check with the level every few blows to make sure you aren't putting it in at a wonky angle. I soaked the ground for a few minutes and then used a piece of rebar to probe the ground and make sure I wasn't about to hit a gas line or sprinkler line when I installed it. I am a stronger-than-average woman and it took me about 15 minutes, maybe more, to get it pounded in. If you aren't of a manly disposition or have the perfect ground soil then you may want to get some help with the spike! Once in it is very solid though, I didn't use any concrete although you can if you want to. It does have a weather cover that I haven't used yet...we are droughting it up here in SoCal so I guess I can play with it just to see what that is like, I will say that I like that it is included although it's really not necessary since it is simple to collapse the arms and pull the whole clothesline out of the ground to bring it in. Altogether the clothesline is not heavy, the average person can carry it around no problem and I had zero help setting it up. Didn't need it. The spinning action is great for hanging and taking down clothes, my one and only gripe is that I wish the pole was just a couple inches taller. I am six feet tall and I can stand about 1/3 of the way under the lines to reach the inner-most lines...I realize I am taller than average for gals, this really does fall under the "my problem" category, I am used to it lol. Overall I think most people will be happy with the height of the clothesline. I recommend this dryer, I think it's great and love how my laundry smells after spending an hour outside (my washer is a high efficiency washer, so I could probably take the non-denim items down after about 20 or 30 minutes on a sunny or windy day.) I hope it lasts a long time because I plan on getting a monstrous amount of use out of it! :)

Super happy with my “Solar and wind powered clothes dryer!” I gave it 4🌟on easy to set up only because it can be a pain I the butt to get the stake into hard ground like mine. Dry and rocky but the post is secure now without concrete and has held up well to several heavy loads of towels and sheets. I’m sure it will pay for itself soon! Super easy to put up and take down. I like that the arms have little guides in them for the long lines. Don’t settle for NOT having that as that was my old one and it caught the lines and wore on them as well as making the open/close much harder. Came with an attached wrap for securing the lines when closed before you put the provided cover on it. (Yes! You get a nice zippered cover!!!! ) I hang my red ground cap on the secure strap when it is open so I don’t loose it! It is notch on the red cap and it fits perfectly. Good design detail. Anyhow. Just buy it if you are thinking about it. I’m a short 5’3 and it is no problem to reach lines if that is a concern to short gals like me. Update on 9/25/22 Been using this all month and LOVE it! I wish I had purchased sooner in the summer as fall is now here and Michigan winter is around the corner. I thought I should say that I take this in and out of my garage so it is not left up on a continual basis and it has held up to that. Even the cover! I’m sure at some point I will have to replace the cover which keeps the lines clean and from catching on anything as I take it in and out. Also makes mowing less of a hassle to not have to maneuver around a permanent post in the yard. Bottom line! If you love the smell and feel of line dried clothes towels and sheets, just buy it. If not, you can soften them up in the dryer a bit and still save money on electricity. I consider that I pay myself to do the work instead of paying the electric company!!! Follow up in fall of 2024! This is still as awesome as it was two years ago. I do put it up and take it down when done and store it in my garage when not in use. I’ve recommended this to friends and neighbors as well. Still woks like new.

It's good. It's made of quality materials and is very sturdy. The grounding stake pounds down easy enough, just use common sense and follow the directions. I left mine up out of the ground about 1 inch to keep sand from sliding into it. The lines are as strong as you want to push up to make them. I did 2 or 3 loads and it held everything. It looks like it can hold a comforter easily... I mean not vertically, but if you aren't speshul you can fold it over a few of the lines and give it more room to dry. Other reviewers are super picky, this thing is a good buy. One thing: I can't seem to put it up or down without it grabbing my neck. I have to crouch under it to raise and lower. Also: it covers a very large area. be prepared with about the size of a shed.

Aufbau: War einfach und schnell durch den Bodendübel: In normalen Erdboden einschrauben, eine Holzlatte o. ä. als Hebel verwenden, kein Werkzeug nötig bzw. es ist alles dabei, was man braucht, für die Perfektion vlt. noch eine Wasserwaage. Qualität: Nach zwei Jahren intensiver Benutzung (im Sommer praktisch täglich) keinerlei nennenswerte Abnutzungserscheinungen, Roststellen, Hakeleien, Wackeln, Quietschen oder irgendwie sowas. Die Ummantelung der Seile hält. Die Verstellung funktioniert zuverlässig. Auch der Bodendübel hält die Position noch so, wie ursprünglich eingeschraubt. Besonders gut: - Die gesamte "Aufhängeeinheit" ist vertikal verstellbar, d. h. die Wäsche-Aufhänghöhe kann auf die Größe der Person eingestellt werden. Das ermöglicht eine sehr komfortable Bewegung beim Hoch- und Runter-Bücken beim Aufhängen. Nach dem Aufhängen einfach alles hochschieben. Funktioniert 1A, da hat sich jemand was gedacht. - Drehen der Wäschespinne läuft rund. Tipp: Bisschen WD-40 oder ähnliches Schmiermittel zwischen Bodendübel und Wäschespinne, dann dreht sich das Teil wie ein Glücksrad und dreht die Wäsche automatisch in den Wind (volle Breitseite zur Sonne zum schnelleren Trocknen). - "Stopfer" zum Verschließen des Rohrs (Bodendübel) ist dabei. Zum Schutz im Winter kann das ganze Teil herausgenommen werden und das Rohr damit verschlossen werden. - Schutzabdeckung ist dabei. Gutes Teil. Würden wir so wieder kaufen. Liebe Grüße.
