Does exactly what it says on the tin!If you want your dog to have an excellent recall you need to buy a whistle and then, most importantly, condition your dog to believe that the sound of the whistle means wonderful things will be available if he returns directly to you..... This takes considerable consistancy over a long period of time but is easy to do.... you owe it to your dog to teach a good recall so that he can have the freedom to be a dog!

I originally had two 210 1/2 whistles which were very good. My dog trainer suggested that I get a louder one. So I chose the Acme 211 1/2 and bought three. Sadly this one sounds like a cheap gimmicky Christmas Cracker whistle and is not fit for purpose. I thought I was buying from a U.K. company but no. I asked for advice, but wasn’t given a helpful answer so I contacted them again and they have chosen not to reply. The product is unfortunately not of consistent quality. They are it particularly cheap either.

Nice lightweight whistle, easy to use and gives a good loud blast. I liked the fact that it came with it's own lanyard. It is a handy size to carry either with your dog treats, in a pocket or round your neck. I use it as part of an ongoing effort to get my Labrador to come when called, rather than "yeah ok, in a minute!"

I brought this item on the recommendation of a dog expert in order to distract and startle dogs in case a dog attack broke out whilst I’m out walking. It’s very light weight and i love the colour.

We needed another whistle and we were delighted when Trixie responded to us calling her without any delay. Your whistles are well worth having and old recomend them to any dog owner.

Whistles are a must for me on the farm. I love ones this shape. This one in particular was so affordable which is great as I like to have multiple everywhere so I am never without.

I have a 4 month old lurcher who responds to my whistle but I wanted to be heard at distance for recall (frustration and annoyance transfer in the tone of your voice and the dog picks up on this and is less likely to recall). After quite a bit of research I chose this whistle. From day one the dog has responded well to it - he was upstairs and I thought I'd blow it to see what would happen. Well I instantly heard him thudding about and then come charging downstairs, I was amazed.When not distracted he responds instantly to this whistle; when slightly 'in the zone' he responds well. However, when chasing and running around with other dogs and 'in the zone' I have to use whistle and voice commands quite a bit to get him back. That said I've only had it for 5 days so it is a work in progress and so far all things are looking positive.The downside was the lanyard broke within an hour but was easily fixed - the end of the cord came out the metal fixing so I just opened the fixing up, put the cord back in then crimped the whole thing tight to prevent the same thing happening again. It all seems very cheaply made and therefore feels a bit pricey for what it is, but hey at the end of the day the thing works and I've just ordered another one for my partner to use with the dog.
