Does the color on the fruits come out with time?

No, the color does not come out or off. The kids use them indoors only.

Is the Velcro glued on there or what?

Yes, I'm sure it is glued on as the velcro sticks well. My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter loves playing with this!!
