I want this for my wool carpet. Can the beater bar be raised? And are the brushes soft??

There is a height adjustment that allows six options for the beater bar's distance into the knap and pressure on the knap. The beater bar is half hard plastic strips and half soft brush strips. It was recommended by our carpet's manufacturer
