Said it fit our Nissan. Showed item similar to what we had. It was not same as picture and did not fit our car. On box it says it's for a Toyota. Very annoyiny!

This is a high-quality product that perfectly fits my 2009 Scion tC. Unlike many other reviewers, my car actually had one installed at the factory, and I'm thankful it did; the filter was filthy, and full of leaves and twigs that didn't make it into my HVAC system. The factory part didn't have the activated charcoal and baking soda that this one has, and I have to say I haven't noticed any difference in the air quality in the cabin as a result of the charcoal and baking soda. So I don't know whether the charcoal and baking soda are really necessary, but a filter definitely is.This filter isn't only to protect the quality of the air you breathe, it also protects the HVAC system from contaminants (like the leaves and twigs I mentioned above,) and it's important to replace it as necessary. My mechanic told me he has had to do expensive repairs on HVAC systems in cars belonging to people who didn't replace this filter when it needed to be replaced. Like any filter, of course, frequency of replacement will depend on the environment in which the car is used; mine is parked under a tree, and it's impossible to keep leaves and twigs out of its nooks and crannies.By the way, it's really simple to replace this yourself. There's a great video on YouTube, and this filter comes with a larger version of the illustrated instructions in the Scion tC owner's manual. A Google search will also provide you with all the information you need.

Previously I've used either Denso First Time cabin air filters or TYC filters in my Toyota Echo as they were in the past quite well priced through my usual parts vendor. Recently though these FRAM filters have become much more competitive and come much faster via Amazon so I figured I would try them out.First off, these are definitely heavier and more stout construction due to the baking soda embedded within the filter so these definitely due a better job of controlling odors that may be present outside the vehicle from entering the cabin. That said, this construction does have a downside, they are much harder to install into the tray the filter sits in. On the Echo there's small retaining tabs around the tray the filter edge is supposed to be pushed under to help prevent the filter moving. Well these FRAM filters are quite thick at the edge so getting this filter installed is definitely a longer process than the other filters I've used whose edges are much thinner and means you're either tweaking the plastic tabs upwards or damaging the filter edge itself.That said, they do the job as well as anything else and are priced decently so they are still worth picking up here on Amazon (local stores wanted over 2x the price here for the same filter) but I can't award them 5 stars for the design of the outer edges of the filter.

This is a really sturdy, well constructed product that fits perfectly. Not sure if the baking soda and charcoal will have any tangible effect, but the filter element itself is definitely up to the task of keeping out dust and pollen.I've noticed a couple of reviews expressing confusion about orientation; the side with the lip on it goes up. If you're in doubt, note the orientation of your existing filter before removing it.
