Three Stars
(*Spoilers - Stop reading now if you don't want to know**). This is a general review of Nero and Vincent. What troubles me about these books is that the parent(s) and/or adults are oblivious to the patently obvious mental, emotional, verbal and/or physical abuse the female lead endures. It's over the top. To dub the treatment by others directed to Elle and Lake as mere bullying is careless and absurd. It is not bullying. In Elle's case, having sociopathic classmates beat you till they break your arm, corral you into the bathroom/locker room and hack off your hair, cut you, kick you in the face and body and bash your face into sinks, etc., is not bullying. It's assault. It's felonious assault. Despite all the cuts, bruises, contusions, broken bones, shorn hair, emotional withdrawal, everyone around them feigns ignorance, buries their collective heads in the sand. For situations like this to occur for years and no one has a clue is ridiculous. I can suspend disbelief, but this is asking much.

I am crazy obsessed with Vincent now <3
So as you may or may not know, I'm completely obsessed in love with Nero ..since I read his book like, maybe five times, who's counting? I wasn't sure how much I would like Vincent in first person, I was so stuck on the kind of man Nero was, I admit I was a little skeptical. I AM SO OBSESSED WITH VINCENT NOW! He's not replacing Nero, but I love him for different reasons and he is one of my new favorite characters.Vincent has this crazy good/bad side thing going for him and they are both equally sexy/beautiful in different situations. He is so crazy and he loves so hard that you can feel it when you are reading about him and Lake. Oh Lake, sweet Lake, I liked her and respected her for what she had to put up with from her home life. This poor girl is being emotionally/verbally abused by people she should be able to trust and no one is able to help her. Because if her dad or the Caruso Mafia found out what was going on under her own mothers nose, they'd all be dead. Not that I had a problem with that after reading what she was forced to deal with. There were times I was yelling at Lake because she didn't always make the correct decisions, and she kept repeating bad decisions even though it was made clear she would probably get killed if she continued to do so. But Vincent handled all of that mess, in the bedroom like a boss! Oh my goodness those sex scenes were so damn hot! Get ready for Vincent, he will leave you wanting more.Side note: did anyone besides me get all kinds of excited when Lake ran away to Treepoint and Ryder was completely hitting on her and she was all fascinated with Cash because he reminded her of Vincent? (insert heart eye emoji) No? Just me?

Overall Opinion: This was ok. It has been a while since I read the first book, Nero, so I don't remember all of that book. I think this one might be the same for me. I enjoyed it, it won't go on my favorites shelf, and I'll probably forget it. I will say that I am looking forward to Lucca getting a story...and I don't want him with Chloe...I think he needs someone that's a badas$ mafia princess like Maria (obviously not her -- but I LOVE her!) to give him a run for his money! I keep thinking of him in a Ruthless People type scenario ;)**See goodreads.com/NMmomof4 for my full review with spoilers **Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Lake and Vincent's story. They've known each other for years because Lake is best friends with Vincent's step-sister, and their fathers work together in the mob. They've never crossed the line until one night seeing each other in a different light at a nightclub. There are some major changes in how they see and feel about each other and they end up forming a close friendship while their feelings grow. They deal with constant mob and family drama, have some sexy times, fall in love, and get a HFN ending.POV: This alternated between mainly focusing on Lake and Vincent in 3rd person narrative with some parts focusing on side characters.Overall Pace of Story: Good until the abrupt ending. I never skimmed.Instalove: No. They've known eachother for a long time before the story, so the feelings took a while to change.H rating: 3 stars. Vincent. I didn't like how he continued whoring around after kissing the h, and how he was in denial about his feelings for her for a long time. I did appreciate how he went all in once he did realize it, and he was the first to say "I love you" too.h rating: 3 stars. Lake. She was fun and sassy with the H, but I really wanted her to grow a backbone with her family!Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.Heat level: Moderate. They have some hot chemistry and scenes.Descriptive sex: YesSafe sex: Yes and no. They don't use condoms, but the h is on birth control and the H says he is clean and has never gone without before.OW/OM drama: YesSex scene with OW or OM:YesCheating: Not technicallyPossible Triggers: YesClosure: This had a bit of an abrupt ending with not nearly enough closure for me. I know this was kids right out of high school, but I would've appreciated even a jump ahead epilogue to see them in the future. WAY too many unanswered questions about their future for me, so I'd call it a HFN ending. How I got it: I paid the $3.99 on Amazon.

Wow!
Dare I say it was almost as awesome as Nero?! I absolutely loved Vincent and Lake. The book started a bit slow for me and there were a few factors about the story that seemed somewhat farfetched, but I don't care to dwell on that. The book was great! Vincent was a sex-God, sweetheart with homicidal tendencies and I want to make mob babies with him. I liked Lake because while she wasn't completely fearless, she had a bravery about her that made her loveable and, well, a tad suicidal sometimes when she tried to be the hero. Lol... The plot of the story was pretty predictable but it was still written in a way that kept my attention and never once was I bored with the story. The dialogue, the romance, the violence, the sex, and even the character development was given enough detail to let you know Sarah Brianne didn't just throw some words on a page to make some money. Buy the book!!!PS: Though I'm really not a fan of love triangles; that was the theme for Lucca, Amo, and Chloe. Of course I'm going to read that story, but I hope it's not too "angsty". I can't wait though!

Gripping reading.
I really enjoyed Vincent and Lakes story.I really liked Lake, I thought she was brave to walk into the Lions Den to save her father. She's the kind girl to put herself in danger to save those she cares about.Vincent is a play boy getting any girl he wants based and his looks and charm. But don't let the good looks fool you, this boy has a dangerous side to his beauty.I liked to see the rougher side of Vincent all the play boy stuff did annoy me a bit of I'm honest. He was a bit to full of himself at times.I loved how he protected Lake from her stepdad he got major points for that.I'm really excited for Luccas book because he has all the things I love going on.

Deliciously dark.
Lake is counting down the days until she can head to college. Away from the mob and more importantly away from her step family. It's all going well until...graduation. a sequence of events lead to a total change in plans and push her into the arms of Vincent. He scares her, he is psychotic but she wants him.A month of playing the good guy has Vincent at his limits. He wants Lake and now it's his time. Throw in some sketchy characters, an almighty pimp slapping pit boss and some danger and you have one hell of a story.

Ok :)
3.5 starsWell I was a little disappointed in this book and I so didn't want to feel like this for Sarah's book it wasn't what I expected from a Made Men book the first was good But I did finish it :)Vincent and Lake just didn't have that spark and I didn't feel like I was with them through this book it felt slow and Lake just dragged me down I wanted her to be a tough girl for Vincent to fight with but he was young chasing tail and older women and the school graduation made me Laugh as it was so wrong I could just picture all the daughters looking at there mothers and fighting a graduation smack down lol and I loved the last riders made an appearance but I'm so looking forward to Amo, Marie's one tough princess who can handle her own but mostly Lucca as he's a true dark made man what the mobs about and Chloe she's got a true gritty story to tell so I'm now waiting patiently for all the rest. I would still recommend this book I may have been not fully what I liked but it might for you as everyone reads different x

brilliant
I love this new series I prefer Vincent to Nero! He was much more sensitive but I did not like parts of the ending again - the total control and death. I did wonder how lake saw past Vincent's brutality with his job.I am looking fwd to Chloe's story And I look forward to hopefully reading more about Maria (whom we got a better insight into man she is deadly!) and Adalyn. Can't wait!!
