Alaska Smokehouse Smoked Salmon Fillet, 8-Ounce Gift Boxes (Pack of 2)

I've shared this my family who do not like Salmon and they loved it. Most food is either liked or disliked because of how it is prepared. This is wonderfully smoked, just the right amount of salt and flavor. Smells delicious. Highly recommend it.

Really tasty, good quality, smaller fillets from near the tail. Nicely packed too.

The salmon was very, very salty. It was swimming in a salty very smoky broth, think liquid smoke, yet the fish itself was extremely dry and there was no skin. I have had hot smoked salmon before and it is usually somewhat dry but somewhat oily with a bark on the skin like BBQ. This salmon gave me the impression that it was processed in the gold foil packet, I don't know how there would be so much broth in the packet. There was way to much liquid in the packet for it to have been smoked on a smoker then vaccuum sealed into the packet. I won't buy this product again. And I don't recommend it to anybody.

Delicious! A little juicy though

I have purchased this salmon before and liked it very much (it is hard smoked salmon, not Lox). This order was different. I was very surprised to see a best by date on the outside of the box that was over 4 years from now. That seems a bit long for a food product, especially fish. But then I checked the inner pouch and it had a best by date that was 2 years earlier (see pictures). Further, the last order had an inner pouch made of foil (as indicated in the product description) but this one was in a clear plastic pouch. I have not opened the salmon and tried it yet, and it may be just fine, but the conflicting best by dates and non-standard packaging are very worrisome. Update: I contacted the company, and they were very nice. They explained that there supply issues for the foil pouches, and for some batches they used regular plastic pouches instead. They said the date on the box was an error, and that the date on the pouch inside was correct. I tried the salmon, and it was very good.

Yummy and tasty. A bit of excess oil.

First the piece of salmon if it was salmon was terrible. I have had better that this elsewhere. Tasted very old not cleaned properly before being cured. Black thin skin from the internal of the fish still attached. I could not eat it. I eventually break it up and mashed it to include with my dog food. I would return it but item it came in I threw out. Don't recommend this item.

This was really good! The sodium content wasn't as high as I would have thought, and it did taste a little salty, but that's to be expected. It was flaky and delicious.
