Creation and Fall: A Theological Exposition of Genesis 1-3

Using this product as a primary source in doctoral studies. Bonhoeffer is as excellent and brilliant as usual. Creation and Fall is an intriguing read, especially from the perspective that God created all that is in total freedom. Humankind was subsequently created in freedom, and that freedom is unto God and unto each other.

It took a little longer to arrive, but was in perfect condition and I absolutely love the content. Well worth the wait.

Honestly my lack of interest may have come from the fact that I’m not the smartest person and didn’t fully grasp what he was saying. Some chapters were better than others but some I felt were repetitive and talked in circles. I do admit that some chapters I would get through and just think what is he trying to say. I admit this could be my own problem of being little brained!

I was disappointed when I received this version of Creation and Fall. I am building the complete works series, and this is not in the format I expected. I expected a 6x9 book (the description here gives no dimensions, so I should have asked), but this book came in at 8.5x11, similar to a workbook instead of what others might expect (a traditional 5.5x8.5 book). The book is the Fortress Press book, printed in its entirety, but appears to be some sort of galley edition. Either the publisher is trying to get rid of them or someone is reselling them. Either way, I didn't get what I expected.

I received the book when stated in and excellent condition. I have not read as yet in that it is an addition to my library, will read after completing degree program presently enrolled.

I just don't "get" Bonhoeffer. People seem to love his books, and I keep trying to read them, but they all seem lifeless and empty to me. This book was no different. Look, if you love Bonhoeffer, you will probably love this book. If you're like me, and have never cared much for Bonhoeffer, this book will be more of the same.

This book is profound and cery challenging. Bonhoeffer was and continues to be a prophetic writer for a world that is often lost. I think that every pastor should read this as it would provoke a lot of thought about how deeply some of tue doctrines of the church should be understood.
