TP-Link AC1300 PCIe WiFi PCIe Card(Archer T6E)- 2.4G/5G Dual Band Wireless PCI Express Adapter, Low Profile, Long Range, Heat Sink Technology, Supports Windows 10/8.1/8/7/XP

I have a home office setup in my garage about 50ft from my WiFi Router that is inside my House. My PC is an HP ProDesk 600 with Windows 10 64bit. My ISP is Spectrum at 200Mbps Download Speed. I originally went with a TP-Link AV600 Powerline Adapter to get an internet signal to my garage. Always assumed a hardwire plugin would be the fastest and surest connection type for my needs. With that setup I had just under 40Mbps D/L. Not very fast but it seemed to work ok but unfortunately would continually lose connection a few times a day and the Powerline adapter would need to be unplugged then plugged back in to reset. I tried different outlets in my garage with similar results. I finally had enough and decided to try this TP-Link AC1300 PCI Express Adapter and all I can say is wow! Took me only 5 minutes to install. I then I installed Broadcom BCM4360 chip Drivers as I heard the drivers from TP-Link website can have issues on some systems. My first speed test showed my speeds increased to around 85Mbps. I was getting one to 2 bars of signal. Since my signal was not consistently great I ordered an Eightwood Dual WIFi Antenna. This has a magnetic base and extends the TP-Link Wifi antenna from my PC to 6.5ft. Once I plugged that in and raised the antenna off the ground as high as I can get. I now am getting 194Mbps! So if you are not in the same room as your router and are not receiving 3 bars. I would recommend to add this antenna extension to get the best signal possible. Made a huge difference for me. The TP-Link AC1300 is now working flawlessly and does not disconnect. Can't believe I am getting this kind of performance from a relatively inexpensive WiFi Card!

TL;DR It was terrible trying to find the correct driver and even then I couldn't take advantage of my full DL speed (got 150 Mbps out of 500 Mbps I was getting on my laptop). However, range was phenomenal in that I was able to grab wifi signal from a different apartment building. Con: This wifi card isn't exactly plug and play. For the best speeds, sometimes you have to play with the driver installation. I tilted the antennae so they're parallel to the floor, and I downloaded the V1 driver from TP-Link's website. With the other drivers in the page (and the Broadcom drivers that some people mention) I only managed to get ~ 15Mbps download speed out of the 500 Mbps I was supposed to get from my ISP. With the correct driver, I was able to go faster to ~ 150 Mbps but nowhere near what I should be getting. Still haven't figured that point out actually! Pro: Phenomenal range. I live in an apartment complex that has a series of apartment buildings. We all share the same wifi which was provided by the property owner. The wifi in my building went out for a week but I was able to latch onto the wifi coming from another apartment building 30 feet away or so and still showed like 3 or 4 bars. My roommates had to do all their work on campus while I got to stay at home.

Great product. my wifi on 2.4g is 150mbps and on 5g which i use for gaming, is at 585mbps and sometimes goes up to 702. i am also upstairs from the router and through a couple walls. Speedtest averages 180-220mbps and this is on wifi! not bad for 300mbps internet speed. it shows its capable of alot more than my setup. not hard to install. make sure the pc is off/unplugged. take off the side of you pc tower which is usually held in by 2 screws. the simple directions are actually great, if you have the room to add this inside the computer with the other wifi card you have in the computer already, leave both in. go to device manager and look for network adapter and it should pick it up. after that, go to tp links website via wifi from your existing card, and download the update for the new card. for example mine is for widows 10. fast and simple download. after that is downloaded, turn the pc off and remove the old card. you can leave the new card where it is, or if you want move it up to where the old card was just removed. the slots in the back of the pc should be able to be put back in, or if you have a budget gaming pc like me, once you remove it, that's it. also, if your existing wifi card slot its in has the small screw, take it out and use it with this new tp link wifi card! this thing is solid and has some weight. it doesn't come with a bracket screw. . I'm using a tp link 1750 router. after that update your settings in the router for optimal connections.

Great card with good speed and signal strength although drivers could be a concern depending on the OS your running. Would buy again. Card installed fairly easy although I did have a couple issues with Windows 10 and drivers. I had to use the Windows 8.1 drivers as the Windows 10 driver didn't have an .inf file I could use. I tried installing the exe drivers and it did not work at all after many attempts. After downloading the 8.1 drivers and going into device manger I manually selected the .inf file from the drivers I downloaded and selected the file it worked right away. Connected to my home wireless instantly after typing in my wireless password. After I rebooted though the driver reverted and i had to configure it again. It stuck that time haven't had any issues since. Speeds were as expected since I have slow internet it doesn't even get near the speeds advertised but that's not the cards fault my ISP is to blame for that. Signal was perfect even though it was two rooms away from my router. In summary it's a great card with strong signal strength and speed it's one downfall is the driver support for Windows 10 otherwise it's great.

When booting with live Linux Mint 19.1 the user needs to go to the Driver Manager, check the bcmwl-kernel-source box and click on the Apply Changes button. Installation should go smoothly after that, provided the rest of the hardware is supported - mine went flawlessly on a Dell Optiplex 7010. However, since you run the live version, the driver is not active after you shutdown/restart. If you proceed with the installation, as I did, and after booting back, WiFi isn't available. Had to connect directly to my router, via cable, and then activate the driver again through the Driver Manager. Everything went fine afterwards. I also tried Elementary OS (just for fun) and the WiFi adapter was setup automatically, so I would say Ubuntu and Mint will need to work on this little issue. Now, about the actual performance. My gateway router is located on the 3rd floor (finished attic) and my PC is located on the 1st floor, diagonally across the house, so you can say that there is quite a distance between the two. My WiFi connection shows 54% strength - it shows 100% strength when the PC is on the same floor - but thus far it is stable and without interruptions. Delivery was very fast, and given my overall satisfaction, I can easily say that I am very pleased with my purchase. Highly recommended for Linux users, at least those using Ubuntu, Mint or Elementary OS.

I had been using an 802.11n USB WiFi adapter for my desktop computer, mostly because it was what I had on hand and I'm a skinflint. So, when I got tired of the inability to hear my Teams meeting due to connectivity issues, I instinctively went shopping for a PCIe WiFi card, as you do. I have had good luck with TP-Link products in the past, so when I saw this adapter I figured, "Why not? What could possibly go wrong?" Indeed, once I received it, the installation was as easy as sliding the card into the PCIe slot of my computer's motherboard. Unfortunately, a case screw wasn't supplied with the card (though a low-profile faceplate for the card was included; I didn't use it.) My poor video card had to sacrifice one of its screws so that the WiFi card wouldn't wiggle itself out of the port before I could power my PC back on to test connectivity. Once powered on, I installed the drivers like a sensible human being would do and then connected to my network. To say my connectivity improved tenfold would be about right. Finally, I could use my network on my PC. Ecstatic, I waited a couple of days to ensure the card performed consistently and made my way here to give it a glowing review. I couldn't be happier!

(This review is for the Archer T6E/AC1300 PCIE card) This is a great card! Coming from an N600 Netgear USB that would drop connection, despite me being well within range, every couple of minutes and then spit out DNS errors this was a huge step up! I plugged it into my motherboard, booted it up, installed the latest drivers. Now you see... that's a problem. The 2016 drivers were extremely buggy, the card would randomly cut out connection every few minutes like my Netgear. But after going back to the 2015 drivers (V1_151105) it has been FANTASTIC. I game and stream HD content and this hasn't let me down thus far, first day having it, will edit later on as time goes on. EDIT 06/22/2018: Still a complete rock to this day. The only issue I've had is Windows Update causing the driver for the wireless card to crash when downloading a list of packets so large it literally caused Windows to have a mild heart attack, freeze, and kill the running driver for the wireless card. It was as simple as going to gpedit.msc and killing off Windows Update and the problem hasn't happened since. Update 10/13/2018: Still an absolute rock. Love it. Update 04/27/2019: I found the TP-link drivers to be unstable when downloading large game files. Turns out the T6E uses a Broadcom BCM4360 chip and the actual drivers for the chip are way more stable, and the range increases pretty significantly with this driver. All that's needed is to search for the drivers, download the windows 10 variant, unzip the folder. After the files are unzipped, uninstall the AC1300 in Device Manager (do advanced uninstall so previous drivers are deleted), reboot, and when the device pops up as an unknown device, choose to search for your own drivers on your machine and select the file labeled "64" in the broadcom drivers that were unzipped. After that, you'll actually see a jump in download speed and a drop in ping. I just wish TP-link did a better job with drivers.

Update: 06/30/2020 I have given up on this card. It gave me so much grief daily, especially working from home. The card would work, but would show that it's not connected, or that it's limited connected, when in fact, it was connected. I tried changing so many settings, tried different drivers, tried different PCI-E ports on my PC. I could not get this thing to be stable. I attached a photo of the problem. It wouldn't be much of an issue, but the OS and many pieces of software won't work properly unless the network connection is properly working. For example, Spotify. Please, as someone who works in the IT field, take my recommendation and don't buy this card. It should not be on Amazon anymore, as the company clearly doesn't support the device (drivers are from 2015!) They do make good products, but this isn't one. Buy the Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I card instead. It uses an Intel AC 8265 WiFi card which is way more stable (and updated drivers in 2020!) than the Broadcom one in this product. I'm leaving my original review below in case it helps someone. You may not even experience what I have, but if you have a few more dollars, get the Gigabyte one I mentioned above. You will not be disappointed! Original Review: Once I installed the card in the system, I installed the suggested drivers. It worked for about a week, then out of nowhere my Windows 10 PC will boot up with a network connection issue (globe icon instead of Wi-Fi bars), even though it appeared I was still connected. I noticed that after windows updated the driver, I started having problems. I looked at one of the other reviewers, and followed the suggested Broadcom drivers install, specifically: Broadcom_BCM43xx_7.35.317.3-Win10. I installed the driver, and still had problems. I went into the properties of the Wi-Fi card in Device Manager, and started messing around with the advanced setting. What worked for me was to enable 40 MHz Intolerant. Once I did that, the network started working properly again. Just for a safe measure, I also enabled beam forming, just because the card advertised that it helps with the signal. I'm happy to report that my PC is working flawlessly now, and will report/update if I have another error and/or solution.

so i've read all reviews before buying it and i've seen there was alot of comments complaining so i had to risk buying it, there was a good long review that convinced me. what happened to me was: 1- i installed it 2- didn't appear on my screen nor manager driver 3- i was like should i download from tp-link or try to find broadcom which i've seen in reviews as a solution, cuz some people downloaded tp-link driver and had blue screens and issue, i had to risk it again so i downloaded tp-link driver and it worked i bought this device to use it as hot spot for personal reasons, i didn't try using it as normal wifi so i can't tell you the speed, but i tried the speed of the hotspot on the other room which the normal wifi router was very bad and i used to have very cutty weak signal, but when i used the wifi from this hotspot i had a good wifi performance on my oculus quest 2 which i bought this for ^^ didnt cut at all *if i got any issue i will update this review*

brilliant reception & speed .. wish I had bought it earlier

Been using this PCIe adapter for a couple of days and it's already proven to be superior to the USB adapters I was previously using. I'm getting better speeds consistently and no drop outs at all which is really nice. The only concern I had was installing it into my PC as I have a mini ATX motherboard and a graphics card that was covering my other PCIe slot, but as you can see from the picture it turned out perfectly fine and fits right in. I'm not a very technical person so I can't say anything on optimization, however overall I am very happy with this product and it is worth the price that I paid.

Purchased this card to replace a failing external USB wireless adapter. I have used many TP-Link products over the years. I did my research and I selected the Archer T6E AC1300. The computer is a Dell Optiplex, no problems at all with the install. Operating System is Windows 10 - again no problems at all. This system is in a smaller apartment, and the computer is in the same room as the Shaw Cable modem/router and TV. Connection went by the book, and I have to say... this card is FAST! That old USB wlan adapter was way worse than I thought! With this card, no more dropped connections, no more latency, solid as a rock! Very happy with this card, happy enough that I would buy it again. :) Oh, just general computing a some streaming in this application (no "gaming").
