Danco 1-Handle Trim Kit for Moen Tub/Showers, Oil Rubbed Bronze (10561)

So there are reviews about the handle peeling which is true. My first time purchasing this item was at The Home Depot. I always got the handle very wet, especially with cleaning solutions. It didn't take long for the plastic coating to peel and it looked horrible and gross. So I got a second handle, this time on Amazon. I learned from my mistake the 1st time. This time around I make sure to not get the handle too wet and when cleaning it, I spray the cleaning solution on a cloth/rag and wipe down the handle. This has made a huge change and the handle is lasting longer than my first time using it.

This was perfect and very happy this worked out! I have an older home with a "Push and Pull" type plumbing system. Bought a kit at Lowes only to find out all those styles don't work for what I had, unless I replaced the guts of my plumbing inside my wall and tiles. No way did I want to take that on. Lowes also only sold the plastic-glass type sets for this system.So I was stuck until I found this and the color I needed. It worked great and easy to do. It has 3 types of Hole patterns which were huge and allows lots of flexibility for install to line up with what's in your wall. The fancy knob was awesome so I didn't have to use the glass knob. You can rotate everything to make it all work.The directions were just a bit tricky, but spend the 10 min. to read them and it's a breeze. The main reason they were tricky is for all the different variations and parts, which is great in all reality. Just get the parts and steps for what option you choose and it's no problem. The bronze color was great looking, lots of high end parts, options, and I thought pretty durable. Everything fit nicely and it seems built to last.NOTE: Other reviews said how uneven this was against the wall - Could be, but in most cases shouldn't be.I ran into this at first, but quickly realized this: On the back side of the main plate, there is a smaller outer circle that sticks out further then the main plate. (Size of the handle area shown in the pick) This is meant to go INSIDE the wall. I had to chip out a little bit of tile so that it could do that. Once that part sits into the wall, then the main plate is perfectly flush. I didn't even have to use caulking it's so flush.If you do not have a hole in your tile around the plumbing, then this could give you some issues. You will need about a 3-4" hole in your tile where the plumbing is. I luckily had this. But, I would have had to rip a much bigger hole to try and replace the inner plumbing joints with the new style faucets at Lowes. I felt it was extremely universal and it was an easy install.Great product. Thanks

It’s an ok kit if you are looking for a universal temp controller for existing shower kits. Could be a little more durable I think, but it works just fine for what I needed

If you have an old Moen shower handle and are doing a bathroom remodel but not crazy about changing your pluming then this will make your life so much easier. Not gorgeous, but not bad looking either and defiantly much better then the original Moen shower handle. The BILT instructions were great and it was easy to replace. I didn't take a picture due to what phase we are in with the remodel but will probably later when we finish.

Setting aside things like being mostly made of plastic with a fake metal-look finish, the real deal breaker here is that (for an old Moen faucet from the 90s) it is badly designed and failed after the first use.The 'push' motion to turn off the water all rides on a single screw, holding its position on a 1/8" piece of plastic. Once the plastic wears even a little bit, the handle no longer closes the valve when pushed in, and the faucet is stuck in the 'on' position.You can remove the handle and push the valve screw is by hand. But if I wanted guests to be pushing and pulling on the valve screw itself, I wouldn't have bought a trim kit.0/5 starts, would not buy again.

I like the idea of switchable inner plates to fit all moen fixtures, however, why is the entire escutcheon made out of plastic? My original moen escutcheon had a decently sized indentation in the middle where as this one is very subtle, because of this when first mounting it to the proper fit, the handle didn't reach the stem properly so when i would insert the bolt, it would pull the stem out slightly causing it to open slightly so it wouldn't close/shut off the water properly. i tried multiple fixes at first since i didn't know what exactly was causing this and it wasn't until i fit the old fixture back on that i realized what exactly was going on. once i saw the issue was the escutcheon not being deep enough, i put the danco back in and tried over screwing the bolts on the frame, on metal this would be fine as it would simple suck the entire plate in, however when i first attempted it, the edges of the bolt holes gave out, i had to add some washers to make it fit proper. i fear since its been over screwed like this to make the inner section deeper, since its plastic, it will one day give out instead of staying warped like metal would. anyway those are the reasons i gave it a 3

standing up well after almost 1 year of use. finish is holding up. could have a bit more of the 'patina' look to it and if I recall correctly the plate is made of plastic... but it's all working ok. good deal for the price.

This trim kit can cover just about any combination of upgrade. Mine was pretty simple. Must have used less than 50% of the adapter parts that come with the kit to come up with the right combination. Only thing I'd change is the knob itself still has the old fashioned chrome-ish screw cap cover vs a matching oil rubbed bronze cover. But for the price, I'll get over it.

Good replacement for jammed shower head that came out with cartridge intact attached to it.

After 1 year the finish began peeling off the handle, love the look of this item but now I'm stuck searching for a replacement.

4 months of use and the finish on this product is already peeling off, 4 months and I can’t return it and I’m now jumping through hoops to try and have it replaced. Honestly save yourself the headache and move on to something and save your money.If I could give this product a zero… I would.

the cover is plastic but fits well on a well finished tile wall. the set screw for the handle could be bigger, and the finishing screws seem to rust after 6 mo. i dabbed on some Vaseline to the screws to solve that issue....all in all, good for the money i think. just take your time installing it and dont over tighten any of it and it will work fine.

Not to happy, on first install it’s nice and works fine. It’s been about a year and 3 months and the finish is pealing off. Buy a more expensive brand and you’ll be happier.
