High end cycling shoes, but entry level Sidi
These are a little less quality compared to my very old Sidi Dominators ($300) The material feels a little like cheap plastic at the price point. But they are leaps and bounds better than most of the other shoes I could find for around $150. the half size fit me perfectly. Overall I'm satisfied and happy to be back in Sidi, but I am a little disappointed in the material feel for being north of $250. Plus side the overall look (black / red) is pretty fantastic. Well fitting SIDI Trace 2 Mountain Shoe 8.5 US/42.5 EUR
I wanted a comfortable and durable mountain bike shoe (8.5 US / 42.5 EUR) that correctly fit, right out of the box, the first time. I don’t understand why so many shoe brands can’t construct shoes that fit the size that is marked.What is the big deal ?I did NOT want to return, due to the shoe not fitting properly.I looked for a well-made mountain bike shoe that fits, that is durable and the rider can also walk on hard surfaces when needed; they also had to be compatible with SPD cleats.It should not be so disappointing so often, yet, way too often, the shoes are too small; usually to short and/or too narrow.I searched feedback and the SIDI brand was consistently rated well for proper fit as ordered and for durability. So I ordered from Amazon, via Extreme Sport. They retailer shipped quickly and THE SHOES FIT THE FIRST TIME. The tightening function for this shoe uses a ratcheting design, which works very well for getting a precise fit.FINALLY !!! I am truly pleased.THAT is the way to make shoes. YES !!The fit is correct, they are comfortable, very durable, work with two-hole cleats and I can walk on them. My SIDI Trace 2 shoes were made in Romania.

Sidi makes great shoes but these dont fit well on Shimano pedals
the cleats end up flush with the shoe sole nubs, and requires the use of cleat spacer in order to clip into m9100 xtr pedals. Still had to trim part of the sole nubs down for proper float and clip in/out to work without interference from the shoes. not a great effort from Sidi. Neither Sidi nor the vendor offered any explanation or satisfaction. Great Sidi quality and i have their road shoes, but these are not as well designed.

Very warm shoe, no ventilation
Same fix as other SIDI models. There is no ventilation in this shoe, I would say this is a good spring or fall shoe not summer.

Do not believe the sizing advice
I ordered a full UK size up following advice from other buyers. Big mistake.They were like clown shoes and were promptly returned.Also a worrying lack of quality for such an expensive shoe. Frankly they looked a bit cheap and thin with a 'spongy' feel around the toe box. For MTB you need something more substantial.Made in Romania and not Italy as I hoped.Additionaly - do not be fooled by the pictures, they are Fluro not sunshine yellow.
