Feels like a good quality unit, works fine
I read the reviews before purchasing, it seems that some purchasers have not had a happy experience with this hub, but as there are so many choices of hub available, I still thought this was the best so went ahead with my purchase. I have Linux Mint 19.3 operating system. The unit is solidly-made, and with cables plugged in, doesn't move out of position when sitting on my desk due to its weight. I was up and running within 10 minutes of delivery. I chose a powered hub because many peripherals don't work with the unpowered types. I inadvertently didn't plug in the power supply, and it still functions with a mouse, keyboard, 1Tb and 4Tb drive all plugged in. The response of the external drives is very quick, videos stored thereon play easily without problems. Dvd played via my external disc drive are also recognised quickly, and vlc opens to play them. Others have commented that the slots are not brightly illuminated when powered on, this is true, but I think it would be handy if you're having a problem and can look a bit more closely to see if power is being supplied. Also they aren't a distraction during use. Had this for 7 months now, excellent unit, I use it for charging my phone as well, it has a large battery, it takes 3.5 hours to charge using the mains adaptor supplied with the phone, only 3 hours and 5 minutes via this hub. Therefore I can recommend this with Linux for external hard drives, phone charging and external disc drives.

Quality powered USB hub.
Good quality item. Bought to be able to run external HDD's. Currently running six witn no issues. Very useful having power switches on each port.

Quality/Capacity
Firstly Quality. The unit feels strong and well built. Any concern would be about the robustness of the switches, they feel responsive at the moment, but being so small, will they live up to continual use? However this said the ability to individually switch storage devices in and out is a real selling point. Capacity: All the review photos I have seen seem to show fobs plugged in rather than USB powered hard drives, so I was interested to see if the power was sufficient to power a full 7 usb powered hard drives (see photo) in this test these ranged from 2-4 TB. I have to report no problem, power was more than sufficient. Transfer rates seemed to vary between 70-120 MB in and out, these were all usb3 hard drives, which seemed fairly good. I did notice that the blue leds didn't flicker when data was transfering, but the led on the drives does so not an issue. One thing I have had in the past with hubs is if you keep them plugged in, you need to press a reset button, but as these are mechanical switches that stay on and don't need resetting which is a real plus. Would I buy again, yes I would, although the only reason would be if it stopped working (and then I would obviously review my decision) as I think 7 additional usb3 inputs is more than enough for my needs.

Consider using better power adapter when at high load
So it is one year and a half after I bought it, and it's been powering my HDD's 24/7 since then. Today the power adapter that comes with this hub partially failed, that's why I'm writing this review. Specifically, it still works and I checked on oscilloscope that it outputs quite clean and precise 12 volts with no load, but now producing a soft sound somewhat resembling an ambulance siren and USB output voltage drops when using it below 4.75 volts spec (5.0V+-5%) at rather low 5 watt load. It's not a big deal in my case, but I would recommend using it with more capable power supply from a start. Hub works just fine with another power supply, is producing 5.25V with external supply and uses USB input if there's none. It is built decently, rather solid, quite fast, never had any other issues. USB cable could be more flexible and 3.0 Type B is a bit bulky, but it adds to sturdiness. Overall I would recommend it.

Seriously recommend the overall operational function, aesthetics & ergonomics design & build quality
Firstly, I would seriously recommend the 10 Port Powered USB 3.0Hub by RSHTECH, in terms of operational function, aesthetics and, ergonomics for the following reasons: Packaging: Very well packaged using quality materials and ample protection. Fit and Finish: The 10 port USB distribution block (Hub) has a nice weight to it and of a very solid construction. Constructed from thick wall aluminium with low texture Polymer end plates. The case serves as an all over heat-sink, also. The finish is superb, with clearly great attention to detail very much considered when designing and manufacturing the unit. The lithographic printing is crisp and sharp. All right angled edges including the USB sockets have a 45 degree chamfer that has a polished finish for a touch of design aesthetic that complements the overall quality feel and look of the hub. Over the length of the monolithic aluminium block, three edges have a 3mm radius resulting in a smoother form more pleasing to the eye aesthetically, and gives a superior ergonomic overall feel when handling the case. Two low-profile rubber pads are applied to the base, but they are not just stuck on; they are recessed into the monolithic aluminium block case, this just being another small detail that contributes to the overall quality impression of the design and manufacture of the Hub. Cables: The power brick supplied has a 3 Amp power outage which is more than enough to comfortably handle just about anything you like to integrate with your pc or laptop. The USB3 Communication cable has a sturdy 5.61mm diameter, again more than enough in terms of built quality to handle as much data transfer from multiple auxiliary devices as you need. The male power jack is 5.52 mm in diameter and both power cable and USB 3 Data cable are a very good fit into the device interface with no nasty wobbling; very secure fitting. 10 x USB 3.0 Outlet Ports: Each port, as mentioned earlier has a small, neat, 45 degree chamfer that is polished giving great contrast against the overall satin black aluminium casing. This looks aesthetically pleasing, denotes quality, and additionally has the practical function of assisting when inserting a USB plug / device. There is no wobble from the inserted USB plug into any of the sockets and thus provides a `just right` firm fitting that feels solid yet still easy enough to insert and remove a USB plug without dragging the device around each time a plug is inserted or removed. Each port has a dedicated blue LED to indicate `power-on` state; this is not too bright to be distracting, but enough just to indicate that the port is active and powered. In use, either delivering power to a phone charger, for example, or data communication such as a USB flash stick, or in my case, something like a volume controller, the LED for the port in use will briefly flash `on & off` with data transfer active and stays solid when power is transfer. The Leds are mounted behind a dark tinted section of acrylic so that a really nice slick and smooth finish and aesthetic look are benefitted from. The edge surface that the Power LEDs are positioned is formed as a larger 45 degree chamfer to the overall case which really does assist in observing the LED state regardless of eye level. In my case I have the 10 port USB Hub standing on one of the short edges as shown in the picture and because of the design it still allows for optimal visual indication just as much as if the hub was seated on the broader base face that has the rubbers recessed into. The individual latching power on/off buttons for each USB outlet port feel very `positive` when operated. Again, something that impressed me as a small design and manufacturing detail, is that the buttons are very slightly dished concavely giving a positive finger registration when in use. RSHTECH have again considered the ergonomics of the design as well as the aesthetics as important factors when designing and manufacturing their product. Overall Dimensions: The length is 170.22 mm, the width is 46.07 mm and the height is 25.48mm (case) and 25.54mm overall height including the recessed rubber pads. Each port has a 6.93mm diameter latching push button that protrudes 2.66 mm in the up (off) position and only 1.03 mm in the depressed and `latched` (on) position. Overall: I use the RSHTECH HUB with a Windows Desktop PC running the latest update 22HT windows 11 operating system. Speed is important to me as I use large image and video files and multiple simultaneous transfers at the same time to Fast SSD and NVMe HDs; The RSHTECH HUB handles all my simultaneous data transfers flawlessly fast while also powering other peripherals at the same time. As can be seen from my picture, I charge my phone, watch / I have USB C adapters for Headphone jack sockets / USB C Headphone sockets / Volume controller with additional skip / pause / play functions – I use a 9 button keypad that has 6 layers of shortcuts operations for different software packages so this is 54 separate key functions being handled. I charge my mouse and keypad from the hub and also use a Logi bolt TX/RX transceiver to communicate with the mouse and keypad. My RAZER RGB mouse mat is also plugged into the hub and both data and power are transmitted via the hub for the mat. I have my Garmin Fenix watch powered for charging and serial data transfer. ALL THIS and still more additional expansion available. When I write a review, I do not just say things like, great, awesome, just the job etc. I prefer to give in-use facts, figures, operational function, aesthetics and, ergonomics. This way a future consumer considering the product I review is therefore much more informed and enabled to form an accurate opinion that is reflected upon their purchase. However, as I first stated in the opening sentence to this review; I really highly recommend this product for Form, Fit, Finish, Overall Aesthetics, Ergonomics and Function. Price will differ depending on current trends and promotions, this said, I bought mine through Amazon with a promotional discount on a price point that I personally considered extremely competitive before the discount. This Hub has to be up there as being probably the best one I have tested to date. I am extremely impressed with this hub and would like to point out RSHTECH`s manifesto and vision as follows: • At RSHTECH, we are committed to creating products with top-notch functionality and simplicity. We are constantly on the drive to learn, innovate, and always hear from our customers. • RSHTECH was founded on the idea that it should be easy to use and manage all your computer peripherals through simple products. Thank you for taking the time to read through my review, I hope it is helpful to you.

Great quality powered hub
I was in need of a good quality, powered USB hub and after a lot of searching, found this one which appeared to offer everything I needed - 7 ports, an external 12v power supply and well made. The hub comes in good packaging which immediately suggests that it is a quality product. A printed outer sleeve with product information over a simple quality carton. These things make a difference! The hub comes supplied with a 12v power supply which is essential for maintaining a good USB connection for peripherals such as hard drives and cameras. Without external power, some peripherals will 'drop-out' so a standard non-powered hub will not work properly. I really like this unit and was even more pleased once I had opened the box and installed it. The build quality and finish are excellent. Each port usefully has its own on/off switch with a blue LED indicator. One addition that could improve this for me would a master switch to turn the entire unit on and off. There are many USB hubs available but this is among the best. It works perfectly, the build quality is excellent and at a really good price. There is even an extended warranty card in the box! I would recommend this product and will definitely buy again.

Great hub
One big thing to consider about USB hubs is their reliability, and so I will update this review in a years time, if I'm still alive by then. I bought this to replace my 4th USB hub that died, but this is the first powered hub I've purchased. The buttons on the hub are very convenient. I don't have to unplug hardware that I don't want to use, and the dim blue lights per USB socket make it easy to tell what's off and what's on. USB speed is fine and lives up to standard 3.0 speeds. I haven't had any bandwith problems from USB crowding, which is great. The cable itself is long enough to reach behind my PC while the hub sits on my desk nicely. As always, I've known all my good USB hubs to fail within a year, so I'll update this review if something happens!

Only comes with UK power adaptor. Not usefull in other country using a different wall plug !!!
I ordered this product on Amazon DE, assuming I would (obviously) get the correct power adaptor. The packaging shows different variants of this product with power plug: - type A (NEMA-1) - type C (CEE 7) - type G (UK) - type I Again, having ordered from Amazon DE I would have assumed to get a type C power plug. As this is a powered USB hub, without the proper plug the item is just plain useless.
