No, this does not use a tremolo(Whammy) bar.

What wood is used for the body?

Body is made of Poplar hardwood. Fretboard is made of treated New Zealand Pine w/Sharktooth inlay.

More space between the strings than most electrics? I heard Gio's were famous for that.

This GRGM21 is a shorter scale electric guitar so the neck itself is a little smaller than a full scale guitar. The space between the strings may be wider than some other shorter scale instruments, but not a huge difference.

Does it come with an amp ?

No, it does not. I ended up purchasing a Fender 10 watt amp separately.
