Great flashlight. Does not have a "flash" mode... which I personally think can be annoying, and makes this particular flashlight easy to use. Very bright. Good value for money.

The S1050 lights that I got did not have the "upgraded" label on the box like the one on the webpage, so I guess they are the original version. They are certainly bright enough for my needs. The beam is a pleasing shade of white, without the excess blue light in some. I will be using them with rechargeable 18650 batteries, as I already have both the batteries and chargers for previous flashlights. These lights use a lens for focus and zoom, not a reflector. For that reason, they will never be quite as bright in a narrow beam as they would be with a reflector with the same LED due to the physics of focusing. The zoom function on these lights works very well, as the floodlight position is uniformly illuminated. My existing reflector zoom flashlight is darker in the center than on the edges in floodlight mode. The narrow beam on this flashlight is not quite as narrow as the reflector lights that I have. However, if the zoom went any narrower the image of the structure of the LED would be projected on the scene which is somewhat distracting. You can already see the circular beam transitioning into a square, but it is still pretty uniformly illuminated. The lights that I received have 3 brightness levels with no strobe or SOS. I like that personally. All in all, they are very useful lights, especially for the low price for a pair.

Let’s face it, just about nobody’s gonna need the SOS function that a lot of other lights have, and if you genuinely need the strobe function it won’t be often at all. This has 3 brightness levels that can be cycled through with a SLIGHT touch when the light is on. Perfect! After having compared a slide zoom type & this one’s rotate zoom side by side, I went with this one since it stays put way better, and the head isn’t nearly as loose. This also has 2 holes for the sml lanyard such that the lanyard doesn’t prevent the light from standing solidly on a flat surface by being around the bottom edge. The o-rings used on this are also a good thickness, not super skinny like on the lights I’m returning which came w spares! (cause you’re likely to need them!!) Springs at each end of the battery compartment + one on the + end of the 3AAA battery holder round out a solid build. One way this could be better is if there was more of a range between the dimmest and brightest settings, like if they cut the dimmest by 50% and lowered the medium to land in the middle of dim & bright. That would be excellent and give you the option of having a longer run time on the dim setting. UPDATE: the lite would focus down to a narrow beam and had a rattle. The scalloped ring at the end unscrews and the black retaining ring that hold the LED in place had unscrewed itself. I put the plastic shim back under that ring and used a thin metal rod on the 2 pin depressions to screw it back down while making sure the LED was centered. Cleaned the lense, back in w dome side out w O-ring next & screwed the scalloped retainer back on tight. Just like new again. I like things that can be repaired/worked on.

These flashlights are really a great deal. Good size, good power. Twist zoom instead of crappy push-pull. They really got almost everything right! I like these so much, after a couple months, I bought another pair and I've donated my old flashlights to the local thrift store. These flashlights, and EVERY battery operated device, needs to have a battery level indicator. Preferably with at least 4 levels. Not having this is ridiculous. There is no way to know when to recharge or change batteries until it's too late. Total fail. Secondly, the flashlights would be immensely improved by powering on to the same mode they powered off at, or at least powering on to low instead of high. If I could find a super bright LED flashlight that takes 18650 Li-ion cells, has twist zoom, retains mode, and battery level indicator, I'd buy it. These lights are the closest I've found. One other thing. The tube used for 18650 Li-ion cells does not extend the full length of the flashlight cylinder, so if you shake the flashlight end-to-end, you can hear the tube clunk back and forth. To fix this the O.D. needs to be just a hair wider and/or make the tube the full length of the inside of the flashlight body. These.small led flashlights are absolutely the best I've ever used. The adjustable beam width and three levels of brightness are perfect for so many uses.

GearLight LED Flashlights S1050 [2 PACK] I was skeptical of all the positive reviews, but for $10, I figured I'd see what all the fuss was about. Plus, I wanted a compact light I could easily fit in my pocket, with decent brightness, of course. These lights feel very well made, and are bright. Even on the low setting, it puts out a decent amount of light. And casts a beam a very long ways. I am using these lights with brand new Duracell Optimum AAA Batteries, but you can also use an 18650 battery, if you wish. I can't say for sure, because I do not have an 1865 battery, but, these lights may be even brighter using one of those. I do like having the option of being able to use 2 different battery types, and plan to use an 1865 battery in the future. The red power button on the rear of these flashlights, is firm, and responsive. Doesn't feel flimsy at all. There is also a a wrist strap attached to the rear of the light, if you wish to use it. You can take it off also. I do wish these lights came with holsters, but considering their low price, I can't complain. Only time will tell how long these lights will last, but so far, I am really impressed with them. I highly recommend. PEACE TO YOU!

I like these. They take both AAA and 18650's and come with adapter tubes so the 18650's don't rattle in the light. They aren't super duper bright lights, but that just means they will last longer and won't get hot in your hands. They are great for general use. I like that they just have high, medium and low and they don't have any annoying flashing modes like most lights. The brightness is actually a useful brightness because it is brighter than the old maglights but not so bright that you can't shine the light on something in your hand without hurting your eyes to look at it. I have the Amazon Bolder by Anker flashlight which is rated at 900 llumens. These measured roughly 250, 125 and 70 on high, medium and low using 18650's with my light meter assuming the anker was actually 900 lumens.

I use it outside for checking out my work.

Fits comfortably in my hand. Doesn't have excess features that I don't need for daily practical use. Focus adjustment is well designed and it seems pretty durable
