An all towel robe with a difference. Super soft Italian towelling throughout combined with our original short length sleeve design to prevent drafts and unwanted exposure. Ideal for indoor or spring and summer outdoor changing. No Expense spared approach to design & detailing with extra arm coverage & no stress points (under the arms where most towel robes can fail). Made from Medium weight 350gsm 100%cotton. Light weight for faster drying. The towel robe dryrobe has been designed by surfers to allow room to change easily whilst fully covered and protected completely from the elements. Now you can stay warm and dry changing outside. You can use both hands to free yourself from the clutches of the super-stretch wetsuit or get your kit off and back on without over-exposing yourself. Super product, but they don't wear well.
This review is for the Towel Dryrobe (short sleeve) (Navy Blue, Child (age 10-16)), based upon 16 months' use of two of these, which we bought in February 2017. These have been used regularly by two boys (12 and 10), mainly to change into after kayaking at our local club, and taken on holiday several times - pretty light use. We have followed the care recommendations to the letter, and have found following the washing instructions easy (you don't actually need to wash them that often). There's absolutely NO doubt in my mind that these are straight 5 stars for practicality, warmth, usability, size, space for changing, happiness of young people using them, etc., etc. Yes, reviews have remarked they're a bit bulky compared to towels, but when a child comes out of the water cold, that bulk is so worth it. For kayaking, surfing, body boarding, etc., these are worth their weight in gold. 5 stars. So, why 3 stars in this review then? Durability. We've found they haven't worn well at all. They've frayed a LOT - mainly around the seams, hems and logo, but also generally everywhere, and both of ours are already holed in several places. For this price (these are not cheap), after light use and good care, I'd have expected them still to be pretty much perfect, and they're not. Comparing them to the ancient towels we also use, and used long before we had Dryrobes, and which never enjoyed the same good care our Dryrobes have, the Dryrobes are much more tatty. I think that we'll be doing well to get another 16 months' use out of the Dryrobes. So for durability it's 1 star, which brings the overall down to 3 stars.Would I buy them again? YES, and probably quite soon. But don't expect them to last more than a few years, even with light use and good care.I hope this review is helpful.

Grey faded, didn't hold colour, poor for the money
Wore a few times, took to Spain, laid on it as well as used as a robe, looked like the grey colour had gone funny, maybe the sun bleached it, but other towels don't bleach in the sun, it was only 24 degrees in the sun in October. washed the robe on return. Normal washing machine on a cold wash not even a 30 degree wash, colder. Grey has discoloued. Not very impressed for a £40 towel. Looked at return but expired by 18 days now.The inside and reverse of robe is still a good colour. Not sure why the colour change is there, not overly impressed.

Very disappointing
This is the second type of towel changing robe I have tried and expected something amazing from Dryrobe but was really disappointed. The robe is really heavy, like crazy heavy which I understand because it's cotton towel but it's so big and bulky and heavy carrying it around all day just for getting changed after the beach or swimming (or in my case after a muddy race) hardly seems worth the effort. It goes on over the head like a poncho and is quite tight and restrictive around the neck. The arm holes are big but there is no way I could remove a top or vest from with inside the robe. I could possibly change my trousers or knickers discreetly but that would be it. It doesn't really do properly what it's designed to do and for the price it's just not worth it when other cheaper versions work just as well. I have sadly had to return it. I'm still in two minds about investing in a proper Dryrobe but I like the idea of being able to put it on like a coat rather than a poncho which is too restrictive.

Super Robe for changing / keeping warm before and after sea swims
Really happy with this. I do a fair amount of sea-swimming/triathlon and this allows me get the wetsuit off and the bike/run gear on while staying warm and without shocking any passers-by! I'm 6.2 and about 190lbs but the large version has bags of room to get a wetsuit off and shorts etc on.The material is like very thick towelling - so hoovers up water and keeps me dry and warm. Wore it most recently today after the sea was ~8 degrees c. and the air actually less than that - but it was an absolute joy to throw the dry-robe on and warm up very quickly.Seller was super quick in shipping - had it in ROI from the UK within three working days via Prime. It's not cheap but I think it's great value for money.

Beach envy!
Love love love this. Adult size is roomy, but not too long which my tall 12-year-old likes. It is very well made, the towelling is really thick, soft and just the job after a day on the beach. The only thing to be mindful is, it's heavy, large and so does take a while to dry.Update. 2 years later. It is still going strong and no sign of fading or thining.

Perfect Design, like a thick towel with the added benefit of discreet changing
Really pleased with this dryrobe, it’s good quality and perfect for my 10 year old for drying and changing discretely in public changing rooms. Despite some negative reviews about the quality? I purchased it anyway and really can’t believe how good the quality is. it’s thicker than I expected and a perfect size, big enough to keep you snug and warm after swimming. I followed the washing instructions ( No fabric conditioner) it washed up fine.

Fit for purpose. But it is bulky.
This is a very bulky towel. Too huge to take on holiday. It is perfect for UK beach visits, and triathlon lake swims. But it is enormous. I would like Dry Robe to produce a lighter, super absorbent version for me to take when space is an issue.

Ideal for wheelchair users.
A very well made product. Lots of loose fluff prior to washing but not a problem. Colour not fading after nearly daily washing since received. I am very physically disabled and find these robes ideal to slip straight on after showering so now only bit of me that my carer needs to dry are my lower legs, feet and in between toes. Saves masses of time and I don’t get cold before dressing as I can moved around easily without towel slippage. I’m so impressed that I have again started swimming as I no longer fear the freezing cold changing rooms.
