A thing of beauty...
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Â Can a faucet be a thing of beauty? If it's this hansgrohe Talis faucet, yes, it can.hansgrohe (the name is uncapitalized) is the higher echelon, fancy-schmancy line of plumbing fixtures majority owned by Masco Corporation, also owner of Peerless, Delta and Brito. .hansgrohe faucets are themselves classy, top-end implements, the equal of any American top-end fixtures from Moen or Kohler. But at the hansgrohe level you're looking not at only at top end construction, but designer appearance. A hansgrohe faucet is not the best choice for every kitchen because many hansgrohe fixtures are so avant garde and contemporary in design that unless they're used in an ultra-high end kitchen with design to match the fixture, they look like lipstick on a pig.If you're simply seeking a new faucet for your kitchen, look at Delta or Peerless fixtures. If you're redesigning your entire kitchen as a contemporary showpiece, hansgrohe may be what you want. This is a hansgrohe faucet. And it's probably one of the most conservative hansgrohe designs available. It has an integrated spray spout. It's matte black. There is a single-stick water temperature and volume controller at the base--twist back and forward for temperature, right and left for pressure. This faucet is heavy and handsome, utilizing a one-hole design through the countertop. Through that hole descends the threaded base of the faucet onto which a plastic female nut is threaded from below to hold the faucet tight to the countertop. Inside the threaded base of the faucet are four braided tubes. Two are for hot and cold water supply, and two are eventually connected to supply water to the removable spray end of the faucet. The only slightly unusual step in installing the faucet is the need to connect the hose for the integrated spray tip to a hose for the adjusted water supply once the faucet is installed. This is not difficult and you should have little trouble installing the faucet.A beautiful faucet, especially if you have the kitchen to support it...

Exceptional Quality and Feel
Hansgrohe and Grohe are often conflated to be of the same group, yet they are completely separate and independent rivals. Hansgrohe was established in 1901, while the founder’s eldest son, Frederich Grohe, due to family feud, started a separate company which eventually called just Grohe. The brand Grohe is now a stock company majority owned by Japanese Lixil group, while Hansgrohe is owned by American Masco corporation. Both brands are considered to be premium tier products, with comparable high end quality and design.Hansgrohe is known for making luxurious high end fixtures, and this faucet is no exception. Constructed of mostly brass, the faucet is very heavy. The faucet is well machined, with great tolerances and fitment. The metallic housing is thicker than most, and it feels extremely solid. The matte finish was also in perfect condition and seems more durable than originally thought. Installation is fairly easy for single hole designs. The pull down head’s switch has a good feel, as well as the single lever handle. Installation is fairly easy, and the operation felt smooth and effortless.Overall it not only really looked luxurious, but its heft and refined lever and buttons felt expensive in operation. It is fantastic to look at and use, which is nothing short of expectations for a high end brand like Hansgrohe.

A solid unit
A good quality product. I looked into the brand a bit and it appears it's a German company with this particular line having some Chinese parts. They have another line that is all German. Everything feels solid and well made. I was replacing a similar but cheaper faucet. Installation went pretty well. They have videos explaining it. Not tough, but make sure to get the order of operations right or you'll have to backtrack.I appreciate that the end of the faucet is small enough to fit inside the neck of larger bottles and smaller glasses. Both spray modes are well engineered and not sloppy or splashy. The spray mode is accomplished by an array of tiny silicone nozzles that shouldn't be too susceptible to scale. The force of the spray is higher than I had previously, but I would still have liked to boost it a bit. I took everything apart to see what kind of flow restriction it uses, and it looks like it's integrated into the part that makes the nice spray modes, The company sells this part, but not in higher GPH.The handle and spout are configurable during installation to set their direction and potential travel distance.

We love Hansgrohe’s smooth functioning and reliability
We had the Hansgrohe Joleena 1-Handle 16-inch Tall Stainless Steel Optic, 04793800 Kitchen Faucet at our old house. And then we moved. And we missed that faucet. And then we got this one. And we are even happier. These Hansgrohe faucets have such smooth movement in the lever. We can really tell they are well made, not just nice to look at. I don’t like overly fancy looking faucets. The Joleena we had before has a simple design, but this Talis is even better in that regard. Additionally, the lever connects horizontally on this one, making a 90 degree angle, rather than the sharper angle in the Joleena (which is a tad harder to keep clean). We have used a variety of faucet brands through the years, including Price Pfister and Delta, and they disappointed us through poor functioning or earlier failure. Hansgrohe has only left us pleased. But that’s JustMe. (I received this product in exchange for an honest review, and that is what I have offered here.)
