Be More Dog: Learning to Live in the Now

A Must Read. NOW! NOW! NOW!
This book was fantastic! If you’ve ever had a dog, this is a must read. If you’ve never had a dog, you’re missing out on something very special, but this book still offers a wonderful message about what’s important in life. I came across this book by accident after reading another book about RVing with your dog; and I’m so glad I did. Now I’m wondering if it was an accident at all. I only wish I’d read this 25 years ago. Of course, it hadn’t been written yet. The message is clear and is something all humans should strive to achieve in their lifetime. I read the kindle version, then ordered the paperback on the Tripawds site. I’m definitely reading this more than once. I’ve had six dogs over my lifetime, including the two I have now, and I can’t imagine not having one of these beautiful souls in my life, even though losing them always causes such terrible heartache. They’ve brought so much joy and comfort to my life, but this beautifully written story opened my eyes to something I’ve missed. NOW! NOW! NOW! This is so true about our wonderful companions; they have the answer to what we’ve been looking for. All we have to do is listen. This story about Jerry G. Dawg will make you cry so bring tissues; not only because of the sadness about Jerry’s inevitable fate, but because of the unconditional love and beautiful journey that is so well told throughout this heart wrenching story. GREAT JOB JIM AND RENE! I’m confident Jerry had a wonderful and happy life and certainly knew he was loved. I think that’s what we all want in our lives, and Jerry, and all dogs, show us how that’s possible. Be More Dog! I’d love to meet Jim and Rene some day while travelling in our RV’s, I’ve found that RVer’s and dog lovers are the best people.

A Great read and a GREAT way to live
I have gotten to know Jim, Rene and their now dog Wyatt through Tripawds. I was lucky to get an advanced copy of the book. It is very well written. I shed more than a few tears on this book. I wish I would have gotten to meet Jerry in person but I know one day I will see him when I go to get my dogs on the bridge. This book was an easy read and a wonderful story.I have to keep practicing "Be More Dog" in my own every day life. I know that without Jerry and their site I wouldn't have learned the lesson and survived our own journey with cancer.I received my copy electronically but also purchased the paperback copy waiting for that in the mail. I will re-read this and share with my friend.Be More Dog is a life styleThanks for sharing Jerry and his story with us.

A Must Read Story
As a proud owner of a Tripawd for 8 years now - I have been a Tripawds.com follower for the whole time - the information that Jim and Rene provide on their website is invaluable to ANY dog owner - not just those with 3 legged dogs! This book is so well written and tells such an amazing story of how Jim and Rene found their way on the journey they are on! I can't wait to see Jim and Rene at the next Tripawds meet up so I can get my copy signed! =) Thank you for telling your story and for telling that story is such a well written book! Kudos job well done!

Animals are here to help us heal and Jerry G. Dawg shows us the way!
My life took a pivotal turn when my dachshund, Frankie, became paralyzed and would live the next six years in a wheelchair. It changed me on a deep level and one for which I remain grateful today. While I’ve never experienced life with a Tripawd like the amazing and sweet Jerry G. Dawg, I understand the heart of what Rene and Jim experienced.Their love for Jerry is so evident in the pages of Be More Dog. The fact that they just knew they had to spread a positive message about tripod dogs makes this story even more powerful. My heart rejoiced with them as they encountered people on their travels who often had never met a 3-legged dog and the pride and joy they took in educating others sharing that Jerry was still an active, loving and happy dog. It brought back fond memories of my wheelie dog, Frankie when we educated young and old that paralyzed dogs can live fulfilling lives too.I walked in understanding beside them as the story evolves to that day we all know will come, but find it so hard to bear. I applaud them for really feeling through every emotion and doing what they felt was best for Jerry each step of the way.Special needs dog or not, this story is one every animal lover should read. But what makes a story such as this one so impactful is that within a special needs animal, we are given the opportunity to see into ourselves the parts of us that feel wounded. And this is where the true beauty of this story shines because animals truly want us to heal and why they stand beside us with such devotion and loyalty.Bravo Jerry G. Dawg and to your pet parents whose words on the pages about their beautiful and touching journey with you that left this dog lover with a heart that expanded once again because of the teachings of dog that never fail to make us better humans.

As an avid reader and animal lover I found this book to be very gripping and heartfelt. This book was filled with so much love and eloquently written. I felt like I was actually taken on this journey with them. It was worth the read and much more. It was a very personal and powerful reflection of selfless love, strength, and commitment. Sometimes feeling is more important than thinking
I read this book with our sixteen-year-old dog by my side. Her time is coming soon enough, and this book has helped me prepare my soul for the inevitable.

Wonderful book
This book is just terrific. Having to do this to my Lexus who had bladder cancer I can relate how difficult this decision is and how the grief holds on to you. I never thought I could love another dog again but I opened up my heart and rescued another and love him so much. It’s hard to believe how they weave their way into your heart.

A Wonderful Touching Story
This is a wonderful touching story that had several themes. There's the story about Jim and Rene's life and business, a travelogue and the best part - the story about their dog Jerry and the life lessons he taught them. I really enjoyed the spiritual aspects concerning Jerry. It is an easy read that is well written. I was in tears as I read parts of the book. I highly recommend this story for animal lovers and pet owners facing a cancer diagnosis of their own four legged friends.
