must say, it keeps all stink at bay. Great for swamp butt, stinky belly button, sweaty thigh areas
I like Lume. It took me awhile to getting around to trying it as I had actually been using a different but similarly effective product for awhile by Boscia. I find that with these products, a little goes a long way. Whether from a tube, or from an applicator, the product is creamy. It spreads well, and rubs in nicely. No need to leave it caked, be sure to massage in until it pretty much disappears. With the applicator, when using anywhere than the armpits, add some to finger tips then spread over body parts. I get a funky smell in the leg area when I have been sweaty. I was taking multiple "bird baths" through the day to freshen up, but it never really made a difference. Using a product such as Lume will knock that out. I massage some into leg pits (where legs meet crotch area), around my belly button, butt area, and any spot that I think could benefit from this stuff. I dont use it on my arm pits as I have plenty of deodorant already for that. But it could be used for that. Basically what this is doing is not masking, blocking out odor, but it has components that help eat bacteria causing odor. This is why it is possible that is can be effective for a few days at a time, even with showering. Now, the time frame of how long it works will depend on your body chemistry, your environment, and even what you wear. My clothing isnt all that breathable so that has much to do with the funk smell. Pools of sweat in hot body regions. Yuck. I use Lume (or Boscia), and I am not stinking. I can swipe my finger along my inner leg crease, and my finger just smells like citrus. I'll use this daily for rest of summer, then likely just a couple few times a week going into cool temps. Or maybe I will just use it daily. Little goes a long way, its effective, smells good. No issues. I'll buy this again. Got a stinky belly button? try this. btw, here is link to the other product I use- same texture, little goes long way Boscia version https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08W3KK6MB/

I smell like nothing..... NOTHING!
I have been using natural deodorants or no deodorant at all for the last 4 years and I can safely say I have tried like every natural deodorant that exists on the market so I feel extremely qualified to write this review. All of them either don’t work, smell awful, Or leave me with welts or rashes (Native being the worst offender). Previous to this, the only one I could use for any length of time was the Dove 0%, but it wears off quite quickly in the hot florida summer. To be fair, I am not a Very smelly person, nor am I a big sweater. I will tell you that there are some definite opportunities, however the pros far outweigh the cons. We will start with the cons: 1- the initial smell is a little less tangerine and a little more earthy citrus. But it goes away very quickly, like as soon as it dries and your left with really no smell at all. So if you are looking for something With fragrance to mask scent, this is not it. 2- it’s a little on the pricey side, but a little goes a long way, like you barely need any and for me it lasts at least 2 days even after a shower. Pros: 1-I literally smell like NOTHING! no joke, I’m currently on day 3 and my armpit has no smell at all. We went to an outdoor fall festival and I sweat like crazy all afternoon in the 90 degree heat. I smell other places, my armpits smell like air. I even showered yesterday morning before we went and did not put any on after. 2- even the scented versions seem to have little smell. I am extremely sensitive to scents. I am 7 months pregnant and everything with fragrance makes me want to puke. The initial scent is a little citrus earthy (I got the tangerine) but it goes away almost immediately and you are left with zero smell. 3- you need very little. One click twist will do both armpits and lasts me 2-3 days. 4- my skin is very sensitive. I get rashes and welts in my armpits almost immediately and from basically everything. I have had no reaction to this and I have been using it over a week now.

“Smells like poo”
This is an update to my previous review which I am leaving here to show how awfully my experience progressed. I had to stop using it. I hate to waste products, but this one had to go in the trash. The longevity got even worse as time went on and something strange started to happen. I wasn’t a fan of the smell in the first place, but I read from the company on a Facebook ad that the smell is supposed to be very mild and fade away leaving you unscented. Well...it didn’t do that with me...after I would apply it’s like this product would react with my body chemistry and intensify this foul play dough/funky butt smell. This isn’t at all what my body odor smells like at all by the way. I saw someone else in the Facebook ad mention that it made her smell stinky. Well, I continue using the deodorant because it isn’t always that bad and again, I hate wasting stuff. I work in child care and one day the 3YO kept saying he smelled something stinky like poo and he didn’t like it and left the room. Then later he was sitting in my lap and said “you smell like poo!!!” And ran away. I had him smell my breath and clothes and he was like “no that’s not the smell”. I didn’t think to have him smell underarm at the time, but thought of it when I got home because the deodorant was gross that day. After being embarrassed by a 3YO I buy something else and start using - complete 180 in effectiveness and smell. The next time I see the kid he says “you don’t smell like poo today, you smell like yummy sugar”. So if you don’t want to be told be a child that you smell like poo don’t buy this deodorant cuz it’s not worth the price if your body chemistry doesn’t mix with it well. (Previous)This may be a premature review, but I have to get my thoughts of how it is now out there. I have used this deodorant 3 days now. I plan on letting the bottle run it’s course and will update this review if anything changes. For starters, I am not happy with this product. After reviewing ingredients and seeing things other natural deodorants don’t have I was very optimistic. I have been using natural deodorant for almost 2 years, so I am past the “detox stage”. I have tried a variety of native, variety of Schmidt’s, love beauty planet, crystal, and another brand I can’t remember the name of. I guess I will start with the good before I get to the bad: It does surprisingly control my sweat more than other deodorants. I still obviously get sweaty, but I don’t feel much wetness on my underarm area. I also like that it doesn’t make my underarms feel goopy like some other brands have. Now for the bad: •I got the coconut scent, which you can hardly smell. I don’t mind that too much bc I don’t like over fragranced products. The underlying smell makes the product kind of smell like play dough though. •This product irritates my underarm mildly. I’m lucky and most deodorants do not bother my underarm but this one does •I have the kind that is supposed to be a deodorant stick, which isn’t really a stick at all. I dial up the tiniest amount and apply. When I wipe the product of the “stick” it always presses more out which is annoying because I end up with too much. It also makes a mess on the lid •Here’s the big one:longevity....I showered this morning, applied lume, went about the rest of my routine and went to work. I started to notice some stinky smell coming through as early as 10:30am...which is only about 3 hours from the time of applying. By the end of the day I am pretty funky. Even if I wipe my underarms down with a paper towel when I notice they’re moist. I will say they aren’t as bad as they can be after other deodorants, but I really expected a stellar product here and this one is mediocre. •Value: not worth $16

So much better than Lume 1.0!
Edit: I still really like this deodorant, but I've learned it doesn't hold up to stress sweat very well. I had a big meeting I had to attend for work. I showered, applied my deodorant and did the rest of my routine, as usual. I had to present to a group of investors that morning, so I was pretty stressed out. Well, 20 minutes into everything,I noticed a skunky smell here and there. Much to my horror, it was me. I thought maybe I'd not applied enough, but two weeks later, dealing with a rather stressful situation, I noticed I was a little whiffy again. For whatever reason, it seems like cortisol and Lumé just don't mesh. It's great if I'm not expecting to stress out badly. Original review: I drank the Kool aid and bought a tube of the unscented Lume years ago when it first came out. While it helped with BO (I work in a rather stressful environment) the smell of the product itself was terrible. I recently read that they'd addressed that issue so I decided to give it another try. I bought the Peony Rose and the scent is lovely. It does still have a bit of a weird undertone to it while it's wet. Something akin to the way a frightened darkling beetle smells, along with a bowlful of Fruit Loops. Unlike its predecessor, though, once dry it smells great. This last weekend I put it to the test. 48 hours in the hot desert sun and no shower (just gallon jugs of water) available. A single application before I left. I put it in my bag but didn't have to reapply. While I definitely smelled a bit salty, there was none of the fug that makes me want to peel my own skin off. Best of all, there was no rash, either. Despite the cost, I will definitely keep using this product. I am going to order the Alpine scent solid for my husband and will be sharing his experiences with it.

BEST DEODORANT EVER!!
This is the best deodorant ever, and especially good if you want an aluminum-free kind. This is not a solid stick deodorant, although it's packaged like one. It has three small slits along the top of the packaging. You turn the wheel at the bottom just like you do for a solid deodorant, and the stuff comes out the top through the slits. When you apply the thing to your under arms, the top of the unit smooths the stuff along your skin. This also makes it really easy to use on other areas as needed, like your naughty bits or under your breasts when they sweat. Just make a little of this stuff come out the top, then use the tip of your finger to apply it to wherever you want it. It's more the consistency of a super-thick lotion-- almost as thick as toothpaste-- instead of a solid DO like you're used to. And yes, it works GREAT as deodorant! I have been working out in the garden until I'm literally dripping sweat, and my pits don't smell, even at the end of the day. I haven't tried it 72 hour DO. Because it's expelled as a very thick substance, I think you could get a bunch out the top and transfer it into a tiny container (like a pill bottle or empty lip gloss container) to take on the go, or put in your travel bag. Just make sure your small container won't open on its own (i.e., get a top that screws on instead of flips up on a hinge). Also, love the smell! I chose Warm Vanilla and really like it. The fragrance is very mild but nice. I like it much better than the MagSol I got earlier. MagSol worked great for several hours, but at the end of the day my pits smelled a little strange: kind of sour. No problems with Lume :) Yes, it can leave traces on your shirt, but that doesn't bother me at all. I just do the same thing I used to with my old solid DO: roll up the bottom of my shirt, so that if there is any transfer, it's on the inside of the shirt. I've only gotten DO on my shirt a couple of times, despite using it for about 3 weeks now. I have not seen that it stains my clothes, and it has not bothered my skin at all. Will buy again, and again, and again!

Worked great until it didn't...
First off, this product did work for a time. The scent wasn't too strong (I'm sensitive to scents in products) and most of all it did take care of the armpit oder! I was thrilled to not have an antiperspirant deoderant, until my armpits started to itch. At first, it was minimal so I tried just putting it on every 2-3 days to see if that would help. I even stopped shaving in case that was razor burn. Again it was taking care of the oder so I wanted to keep giving it a fair try and that did work for about a week then the itching and discomfort got worse. I was itching at my armpits throughout the day where it was becoming disruptive and very uncomfortable. When I started waking up in the night itching my armpits and they were hurting, I had to finally stop using Lume deoderant or any other deoderant. I switched to just using a skin healing lotion only for the last month, which doesn't keep the BO away unfortunately, but my skin is finally feeling better. I was so disappointed, so I started researching how Lume works to keep the BO away and found the culprit: it uses an alph hydroxy acid (AHA) and I am allergic to them! It took a while to find the information online on Lume's website. I used an acne topical medication in my late teens to help with the acne breakouts and I had the same type of reaction: it worked for a week then I got itchy and uncomfortable and had to take benadryl to knock me out and get the reaction to slow down. I missed 3 days of college classes, it's cemented in my brain as a core memory. I wish I had found this out earlier since I ordered 2 of them on Amazon, but the return timetable closed. Disappointed but going to talk to my doctor today about what to do.

It smells like nothing after a short bit, and works and works really well, actually.
I’ve been using this for 10 weeks, I’ve seen a lot of people say how much they hate the smell of this stuff. I can only speak for the vanilla scent. It does not really smell like vanilla, smells more like sunscreen actually, which isn’t bad at all, but either case, the smell GOES AWAY after a short while and then, I don’t smell anything! NO BODY ODOR nor fragrance. This I really like! I have had friends smell my pits too just to double check and they all say woah I don’t smell anything at all. So maybe it does matter what is smells like initially when you first put it on if in 30 minutes it disappears anyway 🤷🏻♀️. I’ve also heard some say that depending on your armpit toxicity from using toxic deodorants, going through a current detox, or just currently still having a somewhat high toxin influx of products and environment, (it can be a hard process, detoxing life! That’s for sure!) that it may take a little time for it to work like it says. In other words, don’t judge in absolute form on the first day. This probably requires more research for validity but I just thought I’d mention. Maybe give it a week or more before coming to any conclusions? I did not experience a delay in its effectiveness but it seems others did. I plan on trying the other scents eventually, but this one “stick” (it’s more like a paste dispenser) is lasting a really long time so it may be awhile. You don’t need very much at all. I’ve had on stick over two months. I also don’t need to use it every day, maybe every other. This is also nice because they aren’t exactly cheap. But again I don’t mind because it works BETTER than any other deodorant I’ve used, even the Mitchum (Mitchum I used when I was doing sports and sweating a lot—it worked great for a short time then suddenly did not, within a few weeks. I was told body and the bacteria adapted and that has happened to others too I hear? I’ve been using Lume for over two months, 10 weeks to be exact and it’s working great still). I do wish there was a smaller sample pack to try all the scents because I’m curious lol. Maybe they will offer this in the near future as many have also mentioned wishing for this. They may eventually adapt the scents too who knows 😊.

Okay, guys. I’ve been stinky, dirty, and sweaty in the Deep South. And I’m amazed.
Okay - I’ve been using prescription strength deodorant (just a brand you can buy off the store shelf) and it recently started giving me a rash and a really odd, metallic (almost?) smell. I’ve had my eye on deodorants that don’t contain aluminum for a while and I’ve tried a few and was extremely underwhelmed. I decided this time I’d try Lume after a coworker told me how much she liked it. I’m amazed. Astonished. Flummoxed! Let’s start with the scent; I got the coconut one. I was a little concerned that it would smell like suntan lotion, but it doesn’t. The coconut smell is very subtle. There’s something I don’t love about the scent of the deodorant when it’s just in the applicator. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s almost chalky. However, when you put it on, it absolutely smells neutral and just very lightly coconutty. Any scent at all fades quickly, leaving you with neutral smelling under arms. They just don’t smell like anything. It’s…wild. I’ve been wearing this deodorant for about a week now. My rash is gone. There’s no odd smell like with my old deodorant (see above). I have put it to the stank test in the best ways: chasing a 2.5 year old all over the back yard, watering my garden, and general being out and about daily. And here it is, the piece de resistance: in 100 degree heat and in an extreme heat advisory, I got the sudden urge to wash and detail my car. For four hours, I labored and sweat in the sun, heat, and humidity. No stank. Not a trace! I know that, without aluminum, this deodorant might not help those of you who are heavy sweaters with your pit stains. I’m not a particularly heavy sweater on an average day, so this isn’t really a concern for me. Sorry I can’t speak for that. If you’re thinking of trying this deodorant, do it. I will never go back to other brands.

GAME CHANGER - GO GET IT!!!
GO GET IT!!!

Lume Deodorant
This is the first deodorant/wetness control product that I can use without any problems. I have very sensitive skin and it's amazing. As you use so little it's good value for the money, the scent is lovely and is effective for 72hrs.
