Moen LR2250DW 9-Inch Home Care Designer Hand Grip, Glacier White

The handles are easy to install, look great. As a senior, I've put them up around the house in potentially dangerous, easy to trip, places. I'm buying more of them.

I bought three of these grips, two for my son and one for me. I was attracted by the price and after reading reviews I decided to give them a try since they were the best priced grips that I could find. I wish I could have found some metal ones at such a good price but that is not going to happen. My son installed them and it was a simple installation. I have now had them up for over a week and I use it several times a day and they are very solid and do a great job. It gives me a hand up and helps with balance too. My son had room for two and he is severely handicapped and they are a big help to him too. I am very happy to have them and hope that they continue to hold up and do the job they were meant for. You just can't beat the price and they also look good . I felt like the Moen name was a plus and I would highly recommend them. 06/12/15 I bought three of these a couple of years ago and I have loved mine and use it daily. I needed a new one for using by the bathtub and I looked back to find where I had purchased before. I was thrilled to find it again and the price had stayed the same too. This is a great hand grip and is very sturdy. I really recommend this product.

Easy to install and helpful for ge ting up and down steps

Exactly what we needed. It installed easily and we especially like the padded grip.

When my wife first saw the picture of this hand grip (Moen LR2250DW), she thought it was one of those suction-cup hand grips and thought it was too clunky. But I told her it says that it's only 2" wide, and the suction-cup ones were at least 3" wide. So we decided to try it. When it came, we verified that it is indeed not a suction-cup grip and only 2" wide and 9" long. The grip part is almost 1" in diameter with a black rubberized insert on the inside part of the grip contoured to fit your fingers; the grip extends outward about 2.5". The hand grip surface is white plastic, but it feels heavy enough that there might be a steel frame inside. The picture on the web does not do it justice, because they are trying to show you in one photo a complete view of the hand grip, including the underside contoured black insert. But for most applications, what you see when the grip is up is not the slanted view of the grip shown in the web picture, but a top view of it, just its length and width, which is very sleek (2" x 9"). This hand grip is to be fastened to a stud with four long screws. There is a plastic cover on each end of the hand grip that hides the screws. Some reviewers reported difficulty in removing the plastic cover. The trick is not to try to pry the cover off, since there is a slot at each end big enough for a screwdriver. Rather insert the screwdriver into the slot and push the cover towards the middle of the hand grip. I had more difficulty putting the plastic cover back on after screwing the grip onto the studs. On one cover, a well placed tap by a plastic mallet was needed to pop the cover back on. Other than that, the grip went up with no problems, and it looks good. Looks was important to us because we are using it in a fairly public place in the house, viz., by the family room sliding door to help with a step down to the sunporch.

My experience with Moen products is largely predicated on a kitchen faucet I bought over 15 years ago. It makes a fine example of the company's motto: "Buy it for looks, buy it for life." It's a bold claim but it's proven true for me. I bought that faucet for looks and I didn't pay a lot for it either. It has not been maintenance free by any means, BUT, Moen has always taken care of me and provided warranty parts at no cost with no hassles. Here we have a simple plastic handle not a kitchen faucet, but the quality of it is outstanding nonetheless. Providing the plastic doesn't yellow over time (as many white plastics tend to do), it's easy to imagine it lasting a lifetime. I didn't choose this product merely because it was cheaper than the more typical metal variety of grab bars. I chose it for its looks. It looks more "residential" and sleek. I was even more impressed when I went to mount it. The hardware and the instructions were excellent. I installed one on a sloping ceiling above a toilet then bought another for an opposite wall near the shower. Both are solid and confidence-inspiring (they must be mounted into studs). As an added bonus, I was pleased to find that the color matches perfectly with the typical porcelain fixtures found in bathrooms. It's not a brilliant white but more of a "porcelain white".

My Mom needed shower bars installed and picked these out. They make it safer at her age.

This Moen product lives up to their reputation, an excellent product. The "soft" handgrip is a very helpful feature, the size is just right for a single hand grip. Installation is a breeze.
