It is a Good Tool
This is a helpful tool. I was going to throw out my old laptop drives wondering what was on the drives, but now I have a simple tool that is simple to use and I can now pull off what I need from the drives and erase them properly. I have it on standby for my network drives should any of those drives fail, I can peek into the other drives. This is a good thing.

Lifesaver
I was able to extract data from several hard drives that were in my old, dead PC using this dock. It is truly plug and play and works exactly as it should.

Arrived Broken
Just got this dock today, I needed it to replace a damaged enclosure. It arrived broken. I was able to rig the power cable at an angle with some electrical tape to make it work in order to get the files I urgently needed from my portable, but don't waste your money on this.

Power issues
Despite the fact that it comes with its own power supply, it draws more power than 2 of my 4 USB 3.0 ports can handle. The 2 ports directly on my motherboard at the back work fine. The front 2 ports that are connected via USB 3.0 header randomly disconnect this device with a drive in it. If I connect a 4A USB 3.0 hub in between, the device works just fine again on all four ports. I give the fault here to the device rather than to the motherboard because if it pulled all of its power through the power supply rather than relying on the USB 3.0 power connection at all, this issue would not occur. For reference, ever other USB 3.0 device works fine on the front USB 3.0 ports without disconnects.Next, the space where the drive goes in isn't snug with the drive itself. This is awkward because if you bump the drive while it's in use, you may bump it out of connection way too easily. The included cable is a tad short. It'd be nice if I had another foot.Other than those issues, it works fine at decent USB 3.0 speeds.
