I can reach the entire length of the appliance tip-about 5/8ths of an inch. The tip is very soft and pliable and I find it comfotable As with anything you stick in your earon first try go slow and easy- be sure to read and understand the instructions, should you turn the handle thr wrong way on exit the tip could possibly come off.
