Works great
Great product by greenlee as always. Very simple tool to use on protected outlets for checking voltage. Works as expected.

Excellent tool. Handy and well made.
I really like the design of this tester/detector. You can plug it into an outlet, whether it be regular or childproof, and then leave it in while you turn on the fusebox or breaker and it will make a loud noise if current is detected.

Good idea
One end broke the first week

Breaks easily.
The yellow portion falls out of these after the glue fails, this has happened to two of these for me after a small fall in cold weather. Not reliable if it breaks easily.

Dual prongs a must these days.
75% of the outlets in my house are safety outlets so the dual prong feature was a great selling point. It's been very accurate and served me well.

Good on paper, poor execution.
I drop the Fluke tickers from 3 feet and they break really easily, so I tried this Greenlee.EPIC FAIL. Yes, it has a second tip to open the TR gates on the required TR receptacles. BUT IT FALLS RIGHT OUT. So much for leaving the tester stuck in the receptacle, walking to the breaker, and listening for the tone to go out. Wow. Make the plastic tips bigger so the friction fit holds the pen in the receptacle PLEASE??? Great and obviously idea but you missed the most important part. Also, ditch the meek little morse code tone. Not helpful to know more beeps = more volts. I want to know, is this hot? Will I get burned? Will I ruin my expensive pliers on this? Will I make a big blue fireball in front of a customer and then look like a friggin hack? I don’t care HOW hot. A loud, piercing tone for yes, or silence for no. Come on.Back to the fragile Fluke hot stick. Yay. At least my Fluke T+ Pro is the BEE’s KNEES!

Must have for hobby electrician.
This pen is a great investiment if you are a hobby eletcrician. It is a bit more expensive due to the UL listing. My last one lasted 8 years before it stops working.

Four Stars
Works well. It detects voltages through the insulation of the cables.

Awesome non contact voltage tester!
Great pen tester! Love the extra blade that's built in so it can do plugs a lot easier. Shipping was fast too!
