AC Infinity AIRPLATE S7, Quiet Cabinet Cooling Fan 12" w/ Speed Controller

Absolutely love this product. So I currently have a large corner desk, one end of the desk is a cupboard which acts as the support to hold up the desk. This cupboard was evidently intended to house a computer as there's a cutout in the thin board at the back of the cupboard however, the temperature gets quite toasty in there so for a few months I used it just for my tool boxes. I then built a small media server/file server to run Plex and uTorrent 24/7 as well as handle backups for all my devices. I decided I wouldn't need physical access to this device often and since I wanted to leave it running 24/7 it had to go somewhere quiet and non-disruptive. So I decided to place it in this cupboard, I also put my xbox one and xbox 360 in there too, as well as my network switch and my new Linksys WRT1200AC router. So it's quite a packed cupboard but gives me easy access to the devices if I need to, without taking up precious desk space and causing an eye sore and an ear sore. The biggest dilemma with this setup was the heat build up in this cupboard. With only a small gap above the cupboard door and the small hole in the rear for cables, it didn't take long to heat up. Enter the AC Infinity AIRPLATE S7. I had considered doing a bit of a DIY job and simply re-purposing 2 computer fans and a mesh filter of some description and wiring them up and mounting them on the back of my cupboard but it all seemed a bit too much work as I'm not the best when it comes to wood work and soldering so I began hunting, I found the AC Infinity and it suited perfectly. It arrived with a small paper template to guide me where to cut and drill holes to install it, the fans etc. came pre-assembled so it was a simple case of drilling the holes and the cutout and popping it in, then plugging it in (via the USB power cable), switching it on and away it went. I plugged it into my xbox one initially since that was the biggest cause of heat so whenever the xbox turned on, the fans turned on too, however I decided I wanted to keep the cupboard extra cool for all my devices so I plugged it into my media server and It's been left on for over 5 months now without a single hiccup. The cupboard remains cool even with an Xbox One cranked up, a surprisingly warm router, and my media server all packed into a small side cupboard. The fans make short work of it and are nearly impossible to hear when the cupboard door is shut. The rear of the cupboard is just to the side of my bed and I can barely hear the fans, they are absolutely fantastic in terms of noise levels and also manage to shift a great amount of air whilst keeping quiet. I am so very happy with my purchase, if I ever build a small home theater setup, an AC infinity airplate will be at the top of my shopping list to keep everything cool and quiet. For this use I decided to go for the simple USB setup and not the touch screen panel simply because I couldn't be bothered cutting more holes. For my use case, I want it turned on and left on so the small screen was not necessary. However, if I were to build a home theater setup I would definitely grab the screen and mount it on the side of the TV cabinet. Again, cannot praise this product enough. If you've got a cabinet or cupboard, or even a drawer where you keep devices or items that get warm then this product is the one for you. Quiet, power efficient and very effective at cooling. Not to mention cost effective too!

Attention Tent Owners This is my third AC infinity product. I have previous purchased two ac infinity intake/outtake exhaust fans which btw are great and still in use one year later. My purchase: Ac infinity dual fan wallplate/airplate with the switch non-controller version. My application: pull cool air from the room into a 3x3 to keep the plants inside at optimal temps. Normally temps inside are acceptable at 80-82 degrees, but in flower I want to get several degrees lower to simulate fall/harvest. Why I needed it? I use an LED that at its highest settings putting off quite a bit of heat into a small space and although a great LED, too big for the space (bigger isn’t always better) so I was having difficulty dialing in temps even in my mostly automated small space. Full disclosure - I’ve purchased more than my fair share of fans over the years from amazon and other big box retailers. Some I still use, some shelved, others recycled or returned. Rather than setup a proper intake using another ac infinity intake I went ahead and tried fan after fan propped against the side of the tent with the flap open to force cool air in. Btw the inexpensive Amazon basic floor fan pushes a lot of air, but I digress. And This method works, but adds additional noise and light leakage both in and out of the tent (night/day). As you know, this is a problem and will result in confused plants or worse, herms. That said, I’m still lazy, seeking the easiest cheapest way and I’ve been so pleased with my other ac infinity products (I decided on this unit after measuring my tents side mesh window which was close enough) it was an easy decision to take a flyer on this dual fan airplate. This fits my 3x3 bottom mesh vent exceptionally well. I didn’t even have to use the included screws or zip ties that’s how snug it is. Perfect even. I simply used a boxcutter to cut out the mess in my tent and forcefully pushed the plate into place. This admittedly took some extra elbow grease, but once i got it in, I’d say its the middle cup of porridge, just right. This airplate on its highest setting I am able to keep my homes air set to 70-73 and allow for cool fresh air to enter the airplate/tent and force the hot air generated from my LED out of the top. My ac infinity outtake fan is pulling that hot air set on low with a controller (setting 2) through an oversized filter from another company to filter any smell (none) back into this spare bedroom. Added some pics. I opted to go with the non-controller version of the dual fan airplate as I have two other intake/outtake fans (ac infinity) with the controllers and thought it would be overkill. The airplate has a small switch on it with 4 settings. Off, low, medium & high. On high, it’s quiet and mostly unnoticeable and pushes enough air into tent to keep the perfect temps! Surprised me for an airplate that it was able to push as much air in as it does. Pros -perfect size for my application -quiet even on its highest setting -always on feature (using a smart app controlled outlet to turn off and on) -moves more air than expected -great engineering as usual Cons Not sure it’s a con, but it would have been better in white rather than black and without the controller I don’t know if it was possible to push even more air in on possibly higher settings. I bought two of these for the cabinet that holds my xbox. I installed one near the bottom of the cabinet and one below the shelf - diagonally opposed. Installation was a little difficult as it required using my jigsaw vertically but that was because I didn't feel like emptying out the whole entertainment center and turning the cabinet on its front. The result was the holes were a little crooked but no one's going to see them anyway. After that, putting the fans in and securing them (I used the bolts because I didn't see the little screws included - should have used those) was easy. I plugged both fans into an AC Infinity thermostat, set the activation temp to 85 and tried it out. Works flawlessly and I can't hear any noise from the fans. Cooling is effective. Before the installation, my Xbox would have its own fan running at high speed and the temp in the cabinet was high. Much better with the fans. Overall very happy with them

I bought the AC Infinity AIRPLATE S7 cooling fan system for a DIY cat litter box ventilation setup, and so far it has worked well for what I needed. The fans are quiet, which was one of the biggest things I cared about. I did not want something loud running in the background all the time, especially for a small home project. The airflow is good enough for my setup, and the speed control is useful because I can adjust it instead of having the fans running full blast all the time. The build quality feels solid, and the unit looks clean once installed. It is made for home theater or cabinet cooling, but it also works well for DIY ventilation projects if you need controlled airflow in a small area. Installation was straightforward, and the functionality is exactly what I needed. For value for money, I think it is a good buy. It is not the cheapest fan setup, but it feels better than trying to throw together random cheap fans and hoping they last. Would I buy it again? Yes. Good fans, quiet operation, useful speed control, and it worked great for my DIY cat litter box fan setup.

Just got the AC Infinity AIRPLATE T7 w/ Thermostat Control with an AIRPLATE S9 (one for inlet, the other outlet). Used them to convert a closet into a ventilated computer server closet (I was forced to leave the door open all the time and even then it still got to hot). I decided to go this route instead of the hundreds for a 19" rack because in the end it will still be an eyesore to look at and noisy! It's cooling the 3 machines without any problem which run at 100% CPU load 100% of the time. They come in black only so I decided to paint them white to match the door. The design of the system is very simple and very effective. Pros: * Easy install, pre-cut plastic templates included, about 2 hours for all 3 combined (took my time). * Simple cabling design, only 1 power source, daisy chainable should I want to add more. * Solid build quality, look good and they make it easy to replace/upgrade fans. * Noise reduction, no longer have to leave the door open, sure you can still hear noise but much less. Cons: * Included manual is actually really good, however it does miss how to change the brightness level. This is literally the only thing I can find to "complain" about and the answer was only a search away. * Probably a bit on the expensive side, but considering it just works, doesn't phone home and I doubt they sell millions of them (though they should) I'm not complaining. All in all, for me, it turned out to be one of those feel good projects because every thing worked as expected, no hiccups, and a really nice outcome. Rarely will I write a review let alone take pictures, but here you have it. The before (door open), black (factory) and finally in white. Not sure why amazon is flipping the pictures sideways? Updated: I tried to contact support for a simple question about voltages and switching fans and never got a response, however they had no problem asking for me to give another positive review. So I wouldn't say I'm mad, but certainly not happy with their support. At any rate allow me to do their job for them. You CAN upgrade to regular PC fans (standard 120mm) but note that USB power is only 5v and the supplied wall adapter is only 6.5V so your fans wont spin fast. However my question was if it was OK to use a 12v supply. So I took a gamble and have been using a 12v 2a adapter just fine for a couple weeks. I did try a 13v but that was to much and caused the control unit to flash on and off (no good). I did also have to turn down the brightness on the control unit because it was way to bright @ 12v. Anyway, good luck folks, I really like these things!

I have an L-shape desk. The under desk area where my legs go and where my PC is would get supper hot while gaming. My PC has plenty of fans but all the hot air would just build up under the desk. In bought the large 3 fan model AIRPLATE S9, followed the instructions to reverse the fans (so it pulls air, not push it), and installed it under my desk vertically right behind my PC. AMAZING difference. I was thinking about upgrading my homes AC ducts to deal with the heat, for $50 this solved my issue. I plug the fans directly into the a USB 3 port on the back of my PC, while this provides less power than using the included wall adapter it does provide enough power so that on the medium speed setting it keep my PC (and me) very cool, produces noise so low that I cannot hear it over my PC case fans, and it powers on and off with my PC (when my PC shuts down power to that USB port shuts off). On the hutch shelf of my desk I have a few external USB3 HDDs that would get too hot for comfort. I used to solve this by resting some USB powered case fans on top of them, which worked to keep them cool but didn’t’ look great. This Airplate S9 worked so good under my desk that I bought another one for my shelf. Again I have it plugged into my PC via usb extension so it powers on and off with the PC. On the low setting it provides enough airflow to keep my HDDs cool and produces very little noise. I highly highly recommend this product. Do set yourself a few hours for the install if you need to make a cut out. It will vary depending on what tools you have, how handy you are, and how cramped your work area is based on where your installing the fans, but installation can be challenging but it is worth it.

These are high quality very quiet fans to keep your electronics cool. I have two of these. One blowing on my receiver and the other on the power amp.

As expected but not the best build quality

I bought this fan to rig up as a small kitchen exhaust fan in my tiny house. I needed something that would allow me to exhaust through an awning window and this fan attached to a board works really well. It sucks up a ton of humid air and pushes it outside quietly and efficiently. It was pretty expensive for what I was hoping to pay but the quality of the product is very pleasing. This product both functions very well and looks very nice. If it happens I need another one, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from this company again.

I installed this fan in the back of a custom made arcade cabinet which needed to be kept cool. The fan is incredibly well made and very reliable, which I guess you'd expect given the price tag. Whilst there are cheaper alternatives that would presumably be just as effective, the AC Infinity fan simply cannot be beaten on looks which give you cabinet that professional appearance - to me that was an important part of my project so I was happy to pay a premium. The fan comes with a plastic template which helps with the positioning of drill holes, which was very useful indeed. The fan runs on a 5v power supply via the attached USB cable and is happy with either a 1amp or 2amp supply. The package also contains a UK plug with a USB connection if you don't plan to power it from an existing 5v powered device.

This fan came well packaged and looks very professional. It came with all the hardware to mount and power it. This blower has a really good flow rate which can either be controlled via the online speed controller or if it's connected to one of the AC Infinity controllers. The higher the fan speed the louder it will become. That said even on maximum speed I wouldn't say these blowers are overly loud. I would recommend these to family and friends for sure.

Used as a "through wall" fan for my office. It is more quiet than my computer fan. I installed it in series with a wall switch, a controlled 110v outlet, and a USB DC converter. The cable and 3-speed selector is hidden in the wall. would have preferred that selector switch to be right on the fan, that would have simplified installation. But I didn't find any such product. So I am satisfied, and I can breathe fresh air.
