It lets you use your phone like a lavalier mic. The quality wasn't really any better than the headphone/mic that comes with most phones or gaming systems. I don't feel like i'm getting professional quality despite recording in 5 different apps. If I put it into Audacity for sound editing, I can definitely make it sound better, but not really much better than the mic built into my camera.The windscreens don't help much either. On a light wind, less than 6mph, it will do well. Anything over that and you are going to get some wind noise.

I bought this expecting high end quality. I run a recording studio and a live big band so I have many years in pro audio. This mic's sensitivity is lower than cheaper mics. I tested this mic against a lower end mic that came with a new car stereo. When used for phone calls the other end said this mic sounded like I was 10' away.The bag and kit is very nice. I just wish the mic had a hotter signal and greater clarity. Also, I would have preferred another foot or two of cable length.

Great little mic! I use it connected to an old iPhone 4 when recording video. Can't beat the price and quality.

The Lavalier Lapel Microphone Clip-on is one item I didn't think I really needed until I started using it. This lapel microphone clip-on has a product description that promotes it as a high quality lapel mic for Android and Apple devices. I have an android phone. It works very well. Once I received the product, I read the product instructions to understand how to use it. I did not have any problems clipping it on to my shirt. Once the lapel microphone was in place, I opened up the voice recording app and started speaking. Upon playing it back, the sound was very clear and understandable. I tried the voice recording without the microphone so that I could see if it would sound differently. The lapel microphone really made a difference. Without the microphone, you could hear some background noise at times. In using the microphone, the sound was very clear without the background noise.The product extras that came in the packaging are also a great feature. There are extra windscreens and clips. The protection bag is very useful to keep up with all of the parts/accessories. I belong to an organization in which I am the Recording Secretary. When I am taking minutes during business meetings, I sometimes have to repeat what I've written. The microphone helps me to capture those important discussions clearly without the extra background noise so that I am able to capture information accurately so that I am able to finish my notes later. This is another COOL gadget to add to my collection.I can't believe how advanced technology is today. The days of that huge microphone attached to that long trippable cord are over.I will admit when I got my box in the mail, I thought this is it? It's so small ? How is this going to work? The media could not be loaded.  I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and construction of this lapel microphone. The construction and sound quality work in tandem to earn its 5 star rating every time! I compared the microphone to a few mics I had, including headphone mics and my Samsung S6 internal microphone.
