Simple and Silent
Very simple setup. It contained the full height and half height brackets too. I got it working with my NAS with no issues. I also like that is quiet since I keep it in my room's closet!

Doesn’t work with recent Linux versions
The device is fine as far as I can tell, but QNAP ships a discontinued SATA card with an obsolete chipset that does not have a mainline Linux kernel driver, and the driver available for download from QNAP supports nothing more recent than Ubuntu 20.04. Be prepared to drop another $200 for a card that is well-supported on Linux. Rather outrageous to claim Linux support under these conditions.

Solid expansion for a QNAP NAS
I've had this for about a month now and so far, speeds are good. Can't comment on other people's reviews but I'm running this as a second expansion to a QNAP NAS and set up was a breeze. So was transferring my existing drives over to this and I've maxed it out with 12TB drives (prices for HD have gone through the roof so didn't get 16TB drives). Biggest complain is fan noise! Absolutely hate it and will be voiding my warranty and opening this up soon to replace fans with silent Nomura ones, just like I did with my current QNAP NAS as well as Unifi Switch. As a previous review mentioned, fan speed is not software controlled and even when I set it it to low, it keeps revving up and down and is terrible. And my QNAP shows it's revving at 9500 RPM compared to my NAS which has 6 drives running at 1700RPM. So something's not right there.
