ATTEN Professional ST-862D Hot Air Station

i bought this after buying a well known cheaper hot air station. the ones that have a fan built into the handle . these fans can go wrong and if they stop can suffer thermal runaway in your hand . i didn`t want a 500 degree heater in my hand!. if the atten fan fails?. it shuts off . the airflow is awesome . variable temps and air flow right down to zero make it very easy to use . a real shame this does not come with bent nozzles . i bought genuine ones from another seller . over al a very good entry hot air station. feels well built and sturdy . and smaller than the other one . lighter too . and was around the same price as the first one i bought. value for money is 10/10.

It works well but the buttons get stuck if pressed towards the sides. This is extremely annoying and dangerous when setting the temperature as it could be maxed out without noticing. Still 3 stars as for the price I think there's nothing else with the same quality, although the price is going up so be aware of this issue.

I decide to move to a decently priced hot air station to finish off some hobby work easier however upon using it and trying different nozzles it took me some force to get off the first one I tried off and they all seem to be more oval shaped.So you have to be really aggressive to get them sitting flush and then getting them off is an even worse problem.Not sure if this can be rectified or if it’s worth just sending it back and getting another unit as I have also been following along with some YouTube videos and where people are saying things take 20 seconds to 30 seconds to de solder for example a hdmi on a ps4 but to achieve anywhere close to this I had to be 30 degrees higher and even then it was around 45 seconds.Not sure if it’s a faulty unit as I’ve heard very good things but the nozzle issue is hard to deal with. I’ve seen people online say just buy some new nozzles but I feel like they should fit and worth perfectly considering the price.

Bought this as it was recommended and used by a few YouTube repair channels I follow. It's been great allowing me to remove and replace so many components quickly and safely.

Love this, was going to buy a quick but seller let me down so bought this instead, works the same except has a switch on handle to turn on, for me a bit of a hassle but some might find it useful, a lot cheaper than quick but does not come with bent nozzles had to buy else where. Recommended

UpdateSince writing the review below I opened up the faulty unit as I needed it urgently for a job and did not have time to go through the procedure of returning the item and waiting for the refund and then reordering a new one. As soon as I opened up the unit the fault was obvious... I spotted a connector that wasn't plugged in and the wires to the connector had been routed wrong... so once the connector was plugged in the cables attached to the connector where as tight as a bow string!!! I rerouted the cables to the connector correctly and then plugged the connector back in. The unit was now finally working . I have done the job that I needed to do and I was impressed with the units performance...shame about the original factory fault but glad to say all is good now.Original reviewArrived very quickly and well packaged....but unfortunately the item is faulty so I never got the chance to try it out. Not the sellers fault though .... I was going to take a chance and re-order another...but the price had increasced by another £8... So now considering the Quick 861dw instead.
