Great resource
The Author Eoghan Odinsson is fascinated by Northern Culture and folklore and believes in the idea of harmony between the old and new ways for our own well being. He sees his research into historical cures as being a way to help us take care of our own health and in Northern Plant Law we have the information we need to help us do just this.Included in the book are historical notes taken from M. Grieves 'A Modern Herbal' along with quick reference charts which help the reader to find a plant, herb or specific ailment. It is possible to look up treatments according to physiological categories, physiological conditions, as well as to look up each individual plant or herb.Included with each plant or herb is a botanical diagram, quick facts which cover any synonyms, the action of the plant or herb, the parts to use, dosage and preparation alongside any cautions and other uses. There is also a full description of the plant or herb, information on cultivating and harvesting and of course the historical notes. This is a fascinating and endlessly useful book for anyone interested in using plants and herbs in their lives to help maintain their health. I know that it will certainly have a place in my home alongside my books on herbs and homeopathy and will become an invaluable resource. It will also encourage me to delve again into the plants and herbs that are growing in my garden and the surrounding countryside and see what I have access to that I can use for myself and my family. Thanks Eoghan.

Great book
I can't keep this book!!! I keep getting copies of this book for my lobby. It is so beautiful I thought that my patients would enjoy flipping through while waiting for me. Well, they really do enjoy this book as I keep having to replace it.This book is wonderful in so many ways. There is a wealth of information laid out into a easy to find and deadly accessible manner. With this great information goes some amazing and beautiful pictures. The pictures really bring this book to life. When I take walks around hear in California, we live in a farm area settled by northern Europeans I take this book along with me in the kindle version. I am always finding plants from the book. It is a great teaching experience with my four year old. We try to find new plants every time and this book is our tour guide. Then we get to 'investigate' the plant. I learn along with my son.I am so glad that I purchased this book (over and over again). I recommend everyone get a copy. This book is useful in so many different ways. The only improvement I can suggest is a lock and chain so I can keep a copy in my lobby. Thank you for such a great gem.
