i took two of these when they first arrived but then discovered the powder in the capsules were dried solid, the product was obviously previously opened and the security seal must have been breached as the product was defective

Effective but needs more evidence
After reading up on some clinical trials on pomegranate juice reducing blood pressure and the seed oil lowering cholesterol, I thought I would give this a trial to help with those conditions. The product suggests to take 2 capsules per day for a dosage of 600mg, which works out to £0.36/day for 60 days. The cost is minimal, especially if it can help reduce the impact of high cholesterol and blood pressure. After a few weeks of daily dosing, it appears to have had a positive impact on my blood pressure of around 5% - I have this tracked weekly. However, this is a sample size of one and is by no means a reliable trial. So far, it seems like a promising supplement, and there is promising but very little evidence to support it. Evidence is there, but there's really not much available.I would recommend for now that if you are really concerned by any of the ailments this may help to treat, that you discuss with a doctor and look for more evidence-backed treatments, but keep an eye on this for the future.

Pure. Potent. Perfect.
I've been eating pomegranate for years, for its many beneficial effects. I used to get it mainly from Innocent's pomegranate, blueberry and acai smoothies, until the manufacturer shrank the size of the containers from 1 litre to 750 ml while simultaneously increasing the price. That shoddy behaviour from Innocent led to me ditching them and then getting my pomegranate elsewhere. One advantage of consuming pomegranate in extract form - such as this excellent organic extract from Time Health - is the much higher nutrient density. It also works out extremely cost effective compared with buying either fresh organic pomegranates (if you can even find those in your local supermarket) or smoothies. In short, by getting your pomegranate in extract form, you get more for less. Greater benefits for less financial layout. You can't argue with that. These pomegranate capsules from Time Health contain no artificial additives at all - just a potent dose of pure organic pomegranate extract wrapped in a vegan-friendly tapioca shell. There's nothing to criticise. It's a perfect supplement. Five stars all the way.

Vegan
It is great that this is a vegan product. They mark it as being vegan clearly on the product and also the product page. You get 120 capsules that are made from vegetarian shells. If you stick to the recommended dosage of two daily then these will last you two months. The expiry date is exactly 1 year from the time of ordering so plenty of time to use these. I like the fact that the ingredients are nice and clean. You’re getting 300 milligrams per capsule of pomegranate. But bear in mind that you take two capsules daily so that actually be 600 mg daily. Not the cheapest supplement but I think it’s worth paying the money to get a vegan product of this quality.

Good Strength Pomegranate Caps
I love pomegranate as a powerful antioxidant and to help with better digestion As long as you're clear about the benefits of supplementation with pomegranate and if you need to supplement with this or not before taking it based on other people's opinions unless they're professionals offering you specific advice then I would recommend this as it does have a lot of punch for a food extract. If you know a pomegranate is the right supplement for you right now, then this is a fairly good value choice as if taken at the recommended two a day then this bottle will last around two months and is good strength.

Probably good for you but some important reservations
Overall, pomegranate is considered a very healthy fruit and you will probably get some of the benefits from this product. Ellagic acid in particular is thought to be highly benefiicial to health. Unfortunately the scientific evidence to support its use as a supplement is very weak as it is poorly absorbed and quickly flushed. Experiments have shown that the benefits of pomegranates depend to a large extent on getting the full spectrum of the fruits constituents. The product does not give the information you need, but a bit of research shows that each capsule contains about as much Ellagic acid as about 150ml of juice. That is reasonable though not a large amount.

Great, but a little bit of discomfort
Pomegranate is super-super stuff for detoxing... there are few things better, in fact.Equally, it's anti-inflammatory, good for heart health and aids in digestion - it really is wonderful stuffs. But, these gave me a bit of indigestion, which was a shame. The directions say to take 2 at a time, so I'm going to dial it back to one a day with food to try to limit the effects, and we'll see how that goes.I've still given them 4 stars, though, because pomegranate really is that good, the company is a really good one, £21.99 (at the time of writing) is a very fair price for what you get.
