Does what it’s intended for

Overall it’s a good lock system. The padlock itself is a little cheap, but I didn’t buy it for the lock I bought it for the bracket so I didn’t have to fabricate one. There are zero instructions with this, but it’s pretty straightforward on how to install if you look at how your regulator is attached. Overall it does what it’s meant for and that deter a opportunistic criminal.

Easy to use

Very easy to use.

The only downside is that the lock shackle is fairly skinny.

And it fits tightly enough that one couldn't just use a different lock with a thicker shackle. But, it's probably sufficient given the value of propane tanks.

Needs instructions - replace your current regulator bracket!

I got it to work, however the lack of instructions is unfortunate - so I gave it 3 stars.I have two tanks and the stem has a regulator bracket. The angled flange has two holes in it - exactly the correct spacing for a regulator, so this was clearly the intent - so unscrew the two screws from your current regulator bracket, then screw this bracket on in it's place and put it back over the stem.Second problem, the original regulator bracket had a step-down angle, lowering the height of the regulator. This bracket does not - so when I started turning the wingnut, it bangs in to the regulator - so with a wrench, the wings are made of soft enough metal that they can be bent up and not hit the regulator - problem solved. But another reason for the 3 stars is that I shouldn't have to bend other parts to get this to work.

RV Tank Lock

I was a tired of looping a bike cable around my tanks and saw this. This is perfect and really easy to use. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

Save your money

Tried on multiple two tank set ups, couldn’t use on any of them as there’s not enough room between the center hole and the regulator to tighten the wing nut so I returned it and they hit me $5.65 for return shipping.

Install was simple and easy. The lock isn't the best quality but it does it's job. Very happy with this purchase.

Easier than you think to install

I know there have been several negative reviews about no instructions for installing this lock. If you think of it as securing the large wing nut then the lock will make sense to you. I had to explain that to my husband after he was frustrated and told me we wasted our money. I had looked at pictures someone posted of the lock before I bought it. I tried to explain it to him and he wasn’t following either. He was too focused on securing the tanks. Finally I told him to take me to the trailer storage and I would show him what I meant by securing the wing nut. You remove the wing nut then put the long metal piece across your metal bar that holds your 2 propane tanks to the trailer tongue. Once that long metal piece is in place screw down your wing nut. Then take the shorter piece of metal that creates a bridge over the center of your wing nut screw. Push the two metal pieces together through the slots cut in the long metal piece. Then secure the padlock through the 2 holes that line up in the back and lock. You have secured the wing nut so it can’t be unscrewed therefore securing your 2 propane tanks. That simple!! 😀

Keeps the propane tank on the trailer and out of the hands of thieves

Really easy to install and provides piece of mind. With the high prices for propane tanks these days, this lock will keep the tanks on your RV ready to use. Good quality and well made.
