Good Assortment of 1% Metal Film - But Almost Impossible To Read
This is a good selection of 1% metal-film resistors at a very reasonable price.PROs: You get 64 standard values of 1% Metal Film 1/4 Watt resistors, with 20 per value, for a very reasonable price.CONs: However, the color bands are almost impossible to read and are printed on a rather dark-blue background and the color bands are often faded.Luckily, I have a USB Microscope that works quite well and had to put each one under the microscope to verify the color bands. Each value comes taped at the ends and each set of 20 is marked with the value.I did find one value that was off so remarked the set. I would have given these a 5 star were it not for a) essentially impossible to read the color bands, b) one set was incorrectly marked.Suggestion: Be prepared to:a) Have a magnifying glass, or better, a USB Microscope, to view each set, andb) An ohm-meter to measure their values for verificationPerforming the verification steps is a real pain in my opinion, but it's the only way to ensure you know what you have.Storage: You'll waste a lot of time searching and looking for a particular value if you keep them in their packing. I would strongly suggest you purchase a storage bin for them so that you can sort them by value for easy retrieval. I use the Acromills storage bin: https://www.amazon.com/Akro-Mils-10164-Plastic-Storage-Hardware/dp/B000LDH3JC/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1472702675&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=acromills+storageThe storage bin has exactly 64 trays arranged as an 8 X 8 grid and space in each tray can be divided using a plastic insert that is actually on the back plastic frame and can be remove (like old plastic model where ther pieces were connected to a common frame). However, there are not 64 tray dividers, more like 8 or 10 - I didn't count - so if you need more dividers you'll have to improvise somehow (stiff thin cardboard could work). Of course, you can always get a larger bin with more trays, too.

A decent starter set of budget resistors
It is a decent assortment of resistors for the amount paid, so I'm okay with the purchase. But there were a few issues. The biggest was that the marking on each pack of resistors was done rather sloppily at times, to the point where some decimal points could not be seen, some values were very hard to read, and some values were impossible to read - even when I measured and knew the actual value. I went through the process of verifying color bands, measuring at least one per pack, and marking all of them again. This gave me the opportunity to have the marking bold, legible, and in a consistent location (top left) so that I could sort the entire set by value and make the set organized and make it easy to find and pull a value. I did notice (as another reviewer noted) that some bands are nearly impossible to see at times. Someone else said they were non-standard colors from what we grew up with. I'm a 30+ year electrical engineer and they're what I learned as a teenager, so I didn't have any issue there. My other gripe is that I received two sets of 75 Ohm resistors and did NOT receive the 68k Ohm set. So they must have made a mistake in kitting my order. This would have been very hard to notice had I not organized them, given that they were packaged in a very jumbled order, so I wonder if this occurs more commonly than is reported by other reviewers.Overall, I'm "okay" with the purchase. I now have a set of standard values for those situations where I just need some resistors for experimenting or immediate needs, but will probably go back to ordering quality Vishay or other brand resistors from an electrical supply house when I design a project and have specific values calculated for my circuit.

the colored marking bands on the resistors are inconsistently marked as to the width of the bands
Each strip of 10 resistors (of the same value) is marked as to the resistance values, (sometimes at the top and sometimes at the bottom) but the colored marking bands on the resistors are inconsistently marked as to the width of the bands (a few of the paint lines are so thin that you can't see them at first glance) and the colors vary from the actual color that we have been accustomed to for the last 70- 100 years years to the point of making me uncertain what color some bands are. (I have not run into this before.) This makes the use of an Ohm meter necessary in some cases. (to be certain you have the right value and after you remove one or two from the tape strips) Other have complained to the same thing. Good variety, good quality, sub-par labeling
I needed some resistors for a project, and the price was right. Like other reviewers, I was less than impressed by the labeling of the different values but I can work through it.

Very good value for the cost!
Each group of values are marked with their values. All are contained in a small box useful for storing them.
