It keeps you coming back
I thought the book would be so much more, it's as if the author ran out of steam or didn't know how to end it.If I had known it would end this way I wouldn't have bought it.

Great book - good characters
I came across this book and was willing to try it as I have read several books based on the search for Cleopatra’s tomb. I figured it might be interesting or a very quick read having heard it before.I was pleasantly surprised! I found the story and characters very interesting. I had trouble putting the book down. I quickly picked up the next book in the series and disappointed I have to wait for book #3.I especially like the issue of bias of the University systems against researchers presenting new ideas or new ways of doing things. An issue that does not get enough discussion.Great read especially if you like archaeological/historical based novels. There might not have been enough dig centric details for some, but I thought the mix was good. If I had to make any suggestion it would be to better label (perhaps with present day or similar) when jumping from past to present. Occasionally, I had to stop and remember which was which.Enjoyed this book and next one - can’t wait to see what Professor Burlington gets into next!

Like taking a trip to virtual reality.
When you are fortunate enough to find a book that the reading of it causes you to carry it with you throughout the day even when you are not actually running your eyes over the words. You might be doing something mundane such as washing dishes and all the while you are thinking about the story, the characters, why they are doing what they are doing. It becomes all encompassing and pulls you back to enter the scene where you left off so you can take up the adventure once more. Such a book is The Lost Tomb of Cleopatra. I guess that is what they mean when they say "You can't put it down." Even if you do, it stays with you. This story centers around a subject that has long been a fascination for so many. Archeology and where it takes the players into the vast regions of desert terrain with the prize so priceless that it overshadows any treasure, riches or artifacts. The true reward is in the accomplishment of discovery and acknowledgment of the archeologists who have made it. The way this novel is told moves rapidly to its conclusion affording little chance to catch your breath. I am still feeling the after-effects that come from such a satisfying tying up of all the elements to the mystery. I am pleased to note that there should be more coming from this author featuring this character.

Finally close to solving the mystery of Cleopatra's final resting place but hampered by the greedy criminals all wanting to claim the tom and it's contents their's
Brooke Burlington's greatest desires an archeologist has been to find the final resting place of Cleopatra. Her father who was a treasure hunter had inspired this interest. However, his involvement with some unsavory characters had left many swindled and him in utter disgrace. When Brooke's former lover Ali presents her with some promising scans of a remote desert area in Egypt ....she has to be a part of it even if it is being funded by a Russion criminal. Book has some excellent theories on how this hidden tomb came to be and the methods that Brooke used to find the location. However, I really would h ave loved to see more complete development of the characters.

Moves slowly the first 100 pages
I am a heavy reader, and when a book captures me, I am frequently through reading it in a day or two because it is hard to put down. This book took me a week as I just wasn't compelled to get to the next page.I can't say that I disliked the book, but thought that the author was overly concerned with character development to the point that he sacrificed the pace of the book. It was almost like he had read a writer's bible that said you must develop your characters, then overdid it. It was a good plot/story line but got bogged down ,and there were some twists that made no sense and others that were obvious from the get-go. As a positive, I will read his next book as future books usually show improvement and this author showed enough writing prowess that with some tweaks. Keep writing and read some of the masters--Cussler, Golemon, McDermott, Rollins, Berry, Gibbins, and Preston & Child. Learn from their deliveries.

First novel by author
Very interesting read. I have always been fascinated with ancient Egypt and those long ago civilizations, so I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. The author found a way to mix in the German theft of art and historical objects during WW II as well as filling in the characters backgrounds. I enjoyed this book and look forward to more adventures of Brook Burlington, Archeologist!!

Osbourne spins a wonderful yarn, knitting together historical facts with real world current situations.
Osbourne's heroine for the series, Brooke, is a well respected archeologist in search of Cleopatra's tomb that has been lost through the eons of time. The plot line is well developed as well as the characters back-stories.I enjoyed the book from cover to cover and proudly award this novel 4 Stars.

A good plot.
A very enjoyable book that moved along at a fast pace. The only criticism I have is that the final chapter seemed very rushed coming so quickly I hadn't realised it was almost the end of the book. That said, it didn't detract from the enjoyment of the story.

Great Fun
I often pick up books like this to read, and often find myself disappointed with the quality and content. I started this book expecting very little, but was pleasantly surprised to find a well written, believable and thoroughly enjoyable story. Once started, I did not want to stop, and my only grievance was that it ended much too soon. An excellent book!

Beach Read
Beach, aeroplane, recovering from illness... this book will keep you engaged without adding any stress or deep emotions to your life. Low adrenaline, not a compulsive page turner but it does enough to keep you interested and it's worth the price but not much more. I can't see it being read twice.

Decent but lacks ending
This was a decent read, there is action and suspense with characters I could get used to if this was to become a series but the ending was poorly executed. I was really looking forward to and intrigued by the authors description of Brook's find but was majorly disappointed when I found out there wasn't one.

Not a good read
I was very disappointed in this book. Highly unlikely flow of events. Flow is the wrong word, it should be jerky and disjointed. The character's are akin to those in a comic strip and the storyline is not well researched or written. I bought the book, I read it, got very bored and put it down but as I was on holiday decided to give it another go. Will not buy again from this author.
