This is a perfect fit for my Rancher 55, and seems to do what it's supposed to, not much else to say about it.

While not a match to my original filter, it fit and the cover fit over it as well.

I am going to go a step further. The 503 60 83-01 air filter doesn't have a screw through the middle of it at all, never the less a nut or whatever. It just friction fits into place. There is one other ad on Amazon for a 503 60 83-01 but he doesn't show a picture.The 1990, 1991 and the 1994 manual show the 503 60 83-01 without the screw. By the time the 1998 manual came out, it shows the screw version, but the screw version has a different part number, ie. 503 89 81-02. The 200-2005 manual also shows the 503 89 81-02. That means up until 1997 they older, non-screw version was the right part, in 1998 and later, it was the screw through version.The 1998 backing plate is 503 89 82-01 as is the 2000 version. None of the years from 90 up show one with a nut, they all show a pointed screw, probably self-tapping.
