Bistro 13.5oz Bistro Barista Electric Milk Frother, Automatic Temperature Control, Boil-Dry Protection, Black

I was away for work for two weeks and was spoiled by my morning cappuccino. When I came home I was using my little hand wisk but those really aren’t made for daily use so I went to the good old internet and googled best frothers. This was one of the suggestions that came up. I was split between a few but with this I decided to pull the trigger because of the sleek design and dishwasher safe pieces. So far I’m happy. As others have noted it’s a noisy little machine but it gets the job done and with significantly more foam than I was getting with my hand held. It’s nice to set it and walk away and it works while my single serve coffee maker is also brewing. I had some trouble with the hot chocolate function. I put in a packet of coca mix with milk and it exploded. I never read the directions on that so maybe I’m not supposed to make coca that way. I have not used the cold frother function but I don’t anticipate using cold foam anyway. I typically use skim or 1% milk and I combine that with some flavored creamer. Haven’t had any issues with the frother with this combo. I don’t know if it will stand the test of time but for right now I’m happy with the purchase. Does the job, small footprint and cute.

This does a great job – when it works Initially, this frother, received less than three weeks ago did a great job of frothing milk for a morning matcha latté or bedtime hot chocolate/golden milk. Over the last few days, however, it has started making a grinding noise, and simply not spinning the milk around, so I assume the frothing disk isn't functioning properly. If I shut it off, then on, sometimes a few times, all without touching the whisk, it may come back. At other times, I have to stick my hand or a chopstick in (with the machine off, of course), and give it a little nudge, and it will start working again. This is regardless of whether it's milk or milk with additions which I'm trying to heat and froth, or heat and mix. This morning, it wouldn't come on at all, even to make a grinding noise, until I'd unplugged it, and plugged it back in. When it works, it's great, but this shouldn't be happening at all, and the fact that it's happening with increasing frequency is increasingly worrisome. Thank you very much for reading my review. Get this one! Don’t get the others that aren’t dishwasher safe because no matter how careful you are when HAND cleaning, they go bad within months because the electrical components as too sensitive to moisture. Also, was always scorching my evaporated milk, so required a thouough cleaning. Get this one because 1) No buttons or electrical components on the vessle on this one. 2) The wire frother attachment is magnetic. 3) Does not scorch so it’s very easy to clean.

Lasted approx 2 months of once-daily use before totally dying. Also it constantly boiled over on the “hot foam” cycle despite the fact that i never filled it past the “min” line. An attractive and terrible product, would leave zero stars but Bezos wont let me.

I've had this bodum milk frother for over 2 years now, and have used it once or twice every single day in that time. Obviously, I'm obsessed. I use it with Elmhurst Milked Almonds and it creates literal microfoam, which is amazing and exactly what I was looking for. (I have occasionally tried other alternative milks; none get quite the same effect as Elmhurst Milked Almonds.) The unit is easy to clean and small enough that it fits into the average cabinet. There have been a few instances where it would seem to stop working (a horrible "stuck" noise) -- what I found is that if I just pour the milk out, take the metal frother out and put it back in ensuring it's properly placed, and let it do a cycle with water, it all is better and runs like new afterwards. This has happened maybe 3-4 times per year for the last two years? Now having it for over two years with daily use, I am noticing that the motor seems to not be quite as strong as it once was -- and I have to do less milk in it than I normally did. Which, is actually more user error than anything else, because I always put waayyyyyyy more than the "max" line and now I just have to keep it under/at the max line lol. Honestly I highly recommend, I take it with me everywhere, and I'm absolutely obsessed with the foam it creates. (I just remembered that it has different types of cycles -- I only ever use the first one which I think is like the "latte" one.)

Spent way too much on something that works half way. Does froth milk well but stops working randomly. I need to reset 2-3 times each time I use it. I reached out to the company but never heard anything. Bodum once had a good name but no longer.

Me gusta mucho que el vaso se separe de la base, hace la limpieza más fácil y no compromete los componentes electrónicos. Hasta el momento ha funcionado de maravilla y hace una espuma deliciosa.

The nespresso version is significantly better this one is great for large quantities but the nespresso one works better for individual lattes

Mientras le ponga leche hasta el mínimo o incluso un poquito más funciona perfecto. Pero si le pongo en el máximo, se empieza a salir la leche conforme la espuma va aumentando su volumen. Pensé que era una falla de mi espumador, lo devolví y volví a pedir pero veo que es una falla del producto en general.
