Handy. Makes putting up a mast much easier.
I found that this made it a lot easier to put up a mast. I mounted my standoff brackets to the roof and dropped a plum bob. This is a lot easier than digging a hole and trying to move the mast to exactly the right spot. I also connected this with a copper strap to a copper ground rod in case of lightning. I live in the lightning capital of the world and I like to protect my equipment and house.

Very handy item
I already had a 2.5' x 2.5' concrete pad at the house which could be moved. I simply took a piece of chain and tap-conned each end of the chain to the pad to make a loop. I then drilled four holes in the ground mount, one on each corner. I then marked those holes, using the mount as a template, onto the concrete pad and drilled them. I used tap-cons to affix the base to the pad. I positioned the concrete pad with the loader on my tractor and began assembling my mast. I didn't use the small pipe portion of the mount. I didn't need it for my application and the hole where it was supposed to go allows water to drain out when it rains. I likely will purchase two more for future projects.

Good base
I bought this base to use with the 27ft telescopic mast.I drilled 4 holes on the corners, and used Tapcon screws to secure it to a concrete slap.

Spike is poor design
The spike is a section of 1inch EMT with about 6 inches forced down to make it semi circular. The bolt provides good attachment to the mast but, not the spike. It looks like a concrete pad should be pored and then spike pushed into the wet concrete.

A Sturdy/Smart Investment
I've bought a few of these for push-up poles and they do seem to help. The same thing can be done by digging a hole and placing the hole into the ground but you would want to dig down two or three feet at least. This way, with the product, you don't need to dig near as deep and you can concrete it in making it easy to take the pole down or even replace it. It is a sturdy product and does what it's intended to do.

Does NOT secure the extended pole enough
