It’s perfect and brings out the flavor!
We love this pepper grinder! (Update Below ... in two years our opinion hasn't changed!)It’s easy to use!The pepper grinds are beautiful! This grinder produces better flavor from the peppercorns!FLAVOR: We buy good peppercorns, in fact, I was looking for “even better ones” because our peppercorns didn’t have much flavor. FINALLY my “temporary” grinder died and we purchased this one. SUDDENLY, we could taste and smell the peppercorn!Same peppercorn, different grinder, and THE DIFFERENCE in flavor alone was worth the purchase.CAPACITY: I was worried because it didn’t hold as many peppercorns as my cheap terrible old one, but it grinds so finely there isn’t a need to worry! The peppercorn is lasting MUCH longer than the old one.ARTISTRY: I assumed two pieces of wood form the pepper grinder, but boy was I wrong! One piece cut into two pieces, then styled, shaped, and assembled so that the grains of the wood line up perfectly! IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!HANDLING:It’s clearly made by a company that understands you want to feel good about the product your using. It feels nice in our hands, it’s easy to use, and feels intentionally designed to make the experience delightful!PARTS:The wood and metal components are extremely well made! There is a plastic piece that keeps the grinder centered, it is well made too. ALL OF IT IS WELL MADE AND THOUGHT OUT!UPDATE:Well, it's been two years. You would think our opinion would change slightly, not really. We're still in love with our pepper grinder. The love has only deepened with time. It's now on the short list of items we gift to newlyweds or firsts-time homeowners. (Seriously, everyone needs this pepper grinder.)1. We've learned one interesting thing -- the size of the peppercorn storage space is to ensure freshness. Apparently, you do not want to have your peppercorn out sitting around for a long time. Freshness is part of the key to the incredible flavor the pepper mill provides.2. Durability. We use the pepper grinder almost three times a day, everyday. We're working from home so we use it for breakfast, usually lunch, and always for dinner. We LOVE pepper, so it's not like we're adding a splash here and there. The quality of the grind has not diminished! It's incredible. It's the same beautiful fine or chunky grind we need or prefer for various recipes (adjusting the tightness according to the need).3. Did you know you can loosen the mill and get chunkier ground peppercorn? This is amazing for steak and a dash of pepper on a fresh salad. When you tighten the grinder, use one of your fingers on the bottom to lift the components on the bottom to ensure it's going to be a fine grind. (These instructions are included with the mill.)Note: Although it sounds like I am being paid to review this pepper mill. I am not. We are huge fans.

Fantastic
This review is for the 8" pepper mill in walnut:I've had this pepper mill for about 8 months and have used it every day. Works wonderfully and still looks beautiful. I like the more Modern design and the walnut is perfect. I was a little worried the shape wouldn't be comfortable but it's been fine and feels natural to grip. I also like that it's made in Maine though that's relatively minor.Only gripes I have:the chamber for pepper is a bit small. I need to refill it every few weeks. I don't know if I'm just going through pepper really fast now that I buy better corns and have a nicer mill, or if it really is just that small. And I always wind up running out when I have 4 things cooking that need attention.Price is maybe a bit high, but the product seems pretty quality so it's likely worth it.I don't feel I have a good grasp on dialing in fine vs. coarse grinds. That might just be a "me" issue though.I decided on this mill because of Wirecutter's review of it and am glad for it.

stopped working after 4 months
messy counters! They seem well made and they grind a lot with every twist, which I like but the counter is a mess wherever I put them. The reason I was shopping for new grinders was to have less counter mess. I didn't find any quality grinders that grind from the top, so I thought I'd try these, expecting less droppings with a product that seems well made. Also, I ordered two, one for salt and one for pepper. Only one came labeled with an "s". I'm not sure if both were supposed to have a label, or neither which just seems a little sloppy.UPDATE. after 4 months, this salt grinder stopped working.

I wanted a peppper mill that worked....ALL THE TIME.
This pepper mill is much more substantial than the ones I have bought for years. I wanted one that would last me forever and I am hoping it will. They say they will replace it if it ever fails to work. That's good enough for me. You can adjust the grind easily, just by turning the top knob. Most of the time I like a fine grind, like on my eggs in the morning. It doesn't hold a lot of peppercorns, though, so I have to fill it about every 2 weeks. Maybe I use more than average or maybe I should have bought a bigger one from them. Anyway, I am very happy with it. I have had it for about 3 months, I don't like to review anything when I first buy it.

All natural, handmade and beautiful.
I have been shopping for A salt and pepper grinder for awhile. I wanted mine to be handmade and out of natural material with no toxic Plastics etc. And I wanted it to grind a very professional grind. So after much research I found these. And I splurged and got both the salt and the pepper grinder in different designs because I happen to like that. And I have now been using them for about four months and I have no regrets about that money whatsoever. It was well spent the craftsmanship is impeccable and they grind really really well.

LOVE IT
I didn't know pepper smelled so wonderfully strong because I've been using the wrong grinder. I grind the pepper and I smell the pepper and that has never happened with other grinders I've used. I can't believe it's taken me this long to find this little piece of sunshine but I have to say it is the best thing ever. Easy to adjuster the grind size and it actually stays until you change it. Turn it down all the way and you have pepper powder, wow, just awesome. If you love pepper on absolutely everything then you need to get a grinder from Fletcher's Mill. You will never know what you've been missing until you do.

Excellent! And Made in the US by a smaller company!
It's an excellent grinder. It is easy to fill, has a lot of adjustments available, and works quite well. Plus the cherry finish looks super sharp, and not quite as light as the picture imo, which is good.I was worried when I saw someone complain they're large, and I have smaller hands (for a guy), but they are quite easy for both my wife and I to use.Highly recommend filling it with some delicious Reluctant Trading Tellicherry Peppercorn and Icelandic Salt (although they only have flake salt unfortunately, so you cant get more than maybe medium coarse)
