Dragon Professional Individual For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/tech))

I am dictating this review using Dragon Professional Individual 15. Unfortunately, this Dummies book is all about Professional Individual 14, so it is not up to date. I contacted the publisher, Wiley, and was told that publication of their Dummies book covering version 15 has been pushed back to June 2017. It's hard to imagine why, since – as another reviewer has pointed out – the current book contains a lot of verbatim lifts from the same author's previous book, "Dragon NaturallySpeaking for Dummies" and she could easily do the same for Professional Individual 15. However, version 15 does have some significant differences, including a more realistic approach to transcribing recordings of another speaker, such as a lecturer..I point out these distinctions in my slender book, "Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 & Professional Individual 15 Handbook for Writers," available as a Kindle e-book on Amazon.

This is a very good book (for Dummies). It is a, necessary, forced march through the intricacies of the latest version of Dragon Professional.The learning curve on Dragon is quite steep so this well presented tutorial of the nitty-gritty, while not always exciting, gets moved to further up the learning curve quite well. As I worked my way through the book I used Dragon to copy out all the commands which I then sorted in alphabetical order. I know, there are charts graphs and posters of all the Dragon commands but copying out the commands help me to remember.Another useful book from "Dummies".

Has a lot of information like most books for dummies it definitely is explanatory just haven’t had time to get all the way through it

I've been using Dragon for quite some time I absolutely hate typing and it usually takes me forever to do so. The problem with Dragon is at steep learning curve! Up until this point there were features I never used, certain roadblocks dealing with words that I would have to continue to type in, and giving more detail on certain features that I've used but truly never really understood. For me I have to give this book a lot of credit simply well worth the price!

It is very helpful, although it seems that the book could have been more condensed without losing any of its value. It's a good starters guide to Dragon, which as it happens, I am using to write this review.

So far this book has been helpful. I bought it as a resource to help me learn Dragon Professional and so far I have found what I am looking for.

I have never seen a book so well written and organized as this, particularly having to do with computer programs. Even manuals don't come close to being as practical and easy to understand as this is. Thank you for your effort.

very informative. I would have put the charts in a separate section with a table of contents reference but the content is very helpful and the explanations are good

There is a lot of material in this book, presented by houmous writer. Is about 360 pages long, it is well worth it in acquainted with before you start using your dragons professional individual programme. This book is useful and programming the Dragon commercial did you get the Wellhouse train dragon who 99% of the time response to what you want to say! The bus isn’t cheap at £16 or so, but worth it to me, at any rate! Before you buy the book, you can see 39 pages for free online and see what you think!

Lots of info in minuscule writing. Still haven’t figured out how to use it on multiple calendars or jumping between screens. Lots of info but not sure if really necessary

Although i downloaded various help articles I found this book very helpful in getting into this excellent dictation application.

It’s a complex piece of software to utilise fully. This book enables you to do this.

Some handy hints I didn't know. I've spent a long time teaching dragon to be more accurate and I want to use it more.Learning the voice commands has made me even more productive. Good book.
