Car Battery Tester 12V 24V, TOPDON BT200 Car Battery Tester 100-2000CCA

We have two cars and the stop start is not coming on unless we do very long drives. There is often a warning on the dash of both cars that the battery levels are low. Just to be certain we needed to replace the batteries I purchased this Topdon BT200 car battery tester. Delivery was very quick and I received a message giving not only the date of arrival but also the time (before 1 p.m.) pretty good. The packaging was very good and I’ll use the box the keep the tester in as its well made and has lots of foam padding shaped to the tester. First impressions were that this device is well made and good quality with a nice feel to it. The instructions were very clear and so simple that after using it once everything is pretty straight forward without have to read them again.The clamps are strong and wide enough to grip the battery terminals and have plenty of cable to find an earth point on the engine. The colour screen is very clear and the menu system straightforward. I found that sometimes when testing the battery it displayed ‘replace’ but when tested again 47% so I repeated and found that the battery was around 50%which probably means the connections were not secure on the first try. The charging test, cranking, state of charge and state of health all provided enough information to indicated both batteries needed to be replaced soon. As they are both around 5 years old they’ve done well. The tester also told me that the alternators were fine. I’m very pleased with this device and at £43.50 feel it’s good value for money. Highly recommended.

Great value for money and dead simple to use! I need to find more batteries to test as it's addictive!! It genuinely is really good, it can be a bit of pain in that you need to find the label on the actual battery, so if the battery is fitted in the car it can be a pain if the label isn't on the top, but all battery testers need this info as without it how can it test to see if its working to its full capacity or not. The result you get back is dead simple to understand, it tells you whether the battery is cleared and also as a percentage what life the battery has left. You can then run an alternator test, but to be honest yo can do that with any multimeter, and also a cranking test which is really useful test. This is as much as is needed, better models print the results, but why do you need a print out? Take a photo of the display if you want to save it.

I needed an accurate tool to test the batteries and charging systems on several vehicles and this does the job perfectly. It's not expensive for what it does. It's intuitive and simple to use but a basic understanding of car batteries will help you get the most out of it. You get a small instruction book written in about 50 languages. It's good, but you need a magnifying glass to read it. I downloaded a copy to read on the phone. It feels solid and robust and has good quality clamps and decent cables. The colour screen is large enough and very easy to read, even in direct sunlight. I was thinking of getting the BT100 originally but this is well worth the relatively small extra cost. I'll test my batteries regularly, especially during the winter months. My only slight criticism is the length of the cables. Whilst doing the charging test you need to hold the engine at 2500 rpm for 5 seconds. Longer cables might allow you to to see the screen whilst doing that. It's a great tool to have, especially if you've got a decent smart charger.

Item werkt erg goed. Snelle Diagnose en makkelijke bediening. Bij dezelfde accu meermaals achter elkaar testen blijft de uitkomst gelijk. Ook testen met een dure alternatief test apparaat komen de uitkomsten overeen. Dus top

Guten Tag Schrauber, ich hab mir den TOPDON BT200 geholt, weil meine Autobatterie in letzter Zeit öfter mal schlapp gemacht hat – und ich bin echt begeistert! ✅ Für fast alles geeignet Ob Auto, Motorrad, LKW oder sogar das Boot – der Tester kommt mit 12V und 24V klar. Das macht ihn super vielseitig. Ich nutze ihn für mehrere Fahrzeuge, klappt alles ohne Probleme. ✅ Kinderleichte Bedienung Anschließen, kurz durchs Menü klicken, fertig. Das Display ist gut lesbar und logisch aufgebaut – auch wenn man technisch nicht so fit ist, kommt man hier super klar. ✅ Zeigt genau, was Sache ist Der BT200 gibt klare Infos zum Ladezustand, Gesundheitszustand und sogar zur Kaltstartleistung. So weiß man genau, ob die Batterie noch fit ist oder bald den Geist aufgibt. ✅ Stabil und wertig Das Gerät macht einen richtig soliden Eindruck – kein billiges Plastik. Liegt gut in der Hand und wirkt, als würde es auch in der Werkstatt einiges aushalten. ⸻ Mein Fazit: Für den Preis ein echter Geheimtipp. Spart Nerven, Zeit und im Zweifelsfall auch Geld, weil man rechtzeitig merkt, wann’s Zeit für eine neue Batterie ist. I ordered this tool very skeptical of it's accuracy considering the price but after testing it on an entire shop of batteries and vehicles at my dosposal knowing the condition of each before hand, I can say that this tester really impressed me. I manage a fleet of 50 or so vehicles and we run though alot of batteries due to some of the accessories we run. I tested this tool on just about every type out there and not once did it give a false reading. Low or high voltage, this tester was always spot on in it's diagnosis of all the batteries I tested. Topdon has been getting a pretty good name for itself in the automotive industry and I can't wait to try out some of their other auto diagnostic tools. If you need a cheap but very accurate and easy to use battery tester this is definitely the one! I wish I had picked up one of the fancier models after having tried the ArtiBattery101 but the build quality of this tool is really good and I expect it will last a long time.
