Terrible.
These washers are junk. You’ll have problems 2-3 years in and Samsung will only cover parts not labor if they cover anything at all. When you have problems it would be more cost effective to just buy another washer. Stay away!

Very nice machine for the price, but ...
The machine is quite and has a small footprint while having a nice large capacity. Overall very satisfied. Reason for only 4 stars is the control interface is a bit confusing and defaults to a very unusual (and not eco-friendly) wash configuration. It always defaults to "Heavy Duty", Warm/Hot water, High Water and Heavy soil. Even changing main selector to "Normal" (from Heavy Duty) results in Warm Water, High Water and Extra Heavy Soil. You can adjust all the settings each time you run but that is very annoying when you have teenager running it who simply accept the default, dump in detergent and press start. There is no way to change the default setting. It offers a "auto water" level, "Normal Soil" and "Eco-Warm" setting but you have to select it each time. It is worth the money, around $700 most places (much nicer than most others I compared it to that run $1100+) but this one simple thing just seems really odd choice for the manufacturer.

Loved It for 3 Years, Until It Died
We thought we loved this toploader washer, and it gets a lot of use. But after just 3 years, the spin cycle imbalance issues and the $400 suspension part replacement hit us this month, just like the warnings in all the other poor reviews. Augh... tried the repair anyways, and that did not work. Our trusted repairman says this happens all the time and to never buy a Samsung washer. From his perspective, he recommended LG and owns one, so we are off to shop. Augh. Not a big review writer, but last week was the refrigerator... all these appliance manufacturers need to get their act together and build something of lasting quality.

Beware if you're a short person!
I was happy to receive my new Samsung washer until I used it. I'm 5'2" tall & 75 years old I have a LOT of experience washing clothes. Washed a load of clothes & was shocked I could not touch the bottom of the tub to grab the socks down there.I needed to use a stepping stool to lean into the washer! This has never happened to me before. It's not safe & I'll be returning this washer. I wrote a letter to Samsung Corporate complaining. As long as people keep accepting JUNK that's exactly what they'll keep getting!I've talked to half a dozen women & a man & they all complained about the new washers & dryers being very cheaply made. 2 said they also needed to use a small stool to reach into the washer! This is crazy. People need to start complaining & returning merchandise that is unacceptable. If we don't we'll keep getting JUNK!

Good for the price
Pros: reasonable price; manual controls let you set water level, temp, and soil level (some complain about this, we like to have control); quiet, efficient operation; light-weight, see-thro lid stays up on its own at almost any angle (great for fitting under a nonadjustable shelf). Cons: hate that there's no presoak feature, but you can pause the cycle, which works as long as you're around (and remember) to restart; terrible manuals, both hard-copy and online: users need guidance in selecting type of wash, etc., and panel markings include some cryptic symbols; self-cleaning is indicated based on number of washes, which may be unconnected with condition--a stupid thing to automate and likely rarely needed unless washing something extraordinarily dirty of shedding. Overall pleased with this purchase after 1 month. Purchase at my local Lowe's was easy and their delivery and installation service fast and painless.
