RENPHO Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Weighing Bathroom Scale, Weight Loss, Baby Mode

I’ve been really impressed with these RENPHO smart scales. They were quick to set up, connected to the app without any issues, and the readings are consistent every time. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth syncing make it easy to track progress automatically without having to think about it. I like that they measure much more than just weight, including body fat, muscle mass, BMI, body water, and other health metrics. The app is clear, easy to understand, and shows your progress over time, which is really motivating. The Baby Mode is a nice bonus for families, and the scales feel solid and well made. For the price, they offer excellent value and are a great choice if you’re trying to lose weight, build muscle, or simply keep an eye on your health. Highly recommended.

Firstly, the 4-star accuracy figure is only because I have no easy way of knowing how accurate it actually is as I don't have access to a definitive reference to do a comparison. However, it is very accurate in tracking my normal daily weight variations and reflects what the mirror tells me so, whether the actual weight is precise or not, the main thing is its reliability in monitoring changes. The main reasons I bought this were to get a more precise weight figure (the readout below 100kg is at 50g intervals so easy to see small changes) and fat measurement as it's the surplus lard which I am trying to reduce. Again, the accuracy of the actual figure is less important than the ability to track changes and this has proved very informative. The scale appears well-built and the display is clear and bright. I have not allowed WiFi access as although it would be useful to not have a phone around every time I want the full set of measurements, I am unwilling to put quite so much personal data on someone else's server. Bluetooth keeps everything local and enables me to record the full set of metrics within seconds of stepping onto the scale. These are then available in the App. and can be read in detail whenever I want, including a view of variations over a selection of time-periods and with a settable basedate if you want see changes since a specific date. Without WiFi or Bluetooth enabled the scale works as a simple weighing machine. I have been most impressed with this machine and its associated App. which, thus far, has been completely reliable. Excellent value for money.

I have only just got these scales but I decided to write a review now to let other potential purchasers know about a quirk concerning setting up wifi. After I broke our scales (no fat jokes please) I did a fair bit of research and decided to get some smart scales to replace them, choosing Renpho based on reviews. I also took heed of some comments that bluetooth-only scales have a drawback that the readings are only recorded if the smartphone is connected at the time (and so within BT range), whereas with wifi the scale reports to the cloud (I assume). So I chose a wifi version. Anyway, the scales look good and setting up the app and account was easy. When I started using the scales the app offered me the option of wifi instead of BT, so I chose that. But connection repeatedly failed, so I reverted to using BT instead. Setup finished fine and my account showed my initial mass and the other data calculated from the conductivity of the skin on my feet (yes I am a bit cynical about how good that data will be). Of course I was rather ****ed that wifi doesn't work. But there was a hint because the app kept telling me to switch my phone to 2.4GHz. The wireless access point I was using (very close to the scales) is dual band so I didn't really understand what it was referring to - and I am unware of how to force my phone to connect over the 2.4GHz band instead of the 5GHz band. My solution was that fortunately I have a tablet which is only 2.4GHz capable. I installed the app and logged in - and my data came up (proving that it is stored in the cloud). I then went to the scales and tried to configure the wifi to the same WAP (no changes). It connected first time! So when Renpho state that the scales only support 2.4GHz wifi, they also mean that the smartdevice used as the interface MUST be connected via the 2.4GHz band as well! From what I can see there is no way to manually set up the wifi connection on the scales. I have reported this to Renpho so maybe they will correct me. However until then my advice is don't buy this unless you have a smartphone which is NOT capable of 5GHz, or else it can be forced to 2.4GHz (and you know how to do that). Update: We tried to set up my wife's iPhone app today. In spite of the fact that the scales already had a 2.4GHz connection to the WAP, it insisted that we use the iPhone to connect and of course it was using 5GHz and so connection failed. It also refused to connect via BT alone, insisting that wifi mus be enabled. So I got out my 2.4GHz-only tablet again and had it set up within minutes. Once set up it works fine with my wife's iPhone. The scales seem to measure about 0.5kg more than the Salter scales it replaced, and about 0.5kg less than the other cheaper scales we have. My guess is that the Renpho scales are accurate. We are still dubious about how accurate the other data is calculated from our feet, although it is all believable. Both our BMIs are just into the overweight region and similarly the 2 body fat readings show a bit too high which we can believe - same for the slightly low skeletal muscle. However we mostly only care about weight and now that we can see the trend of our weights on our phones the objective of buying these scales has been achieved. For now I'll keep it at 4 stars and hope that my warning about the wifi will help potential purchasers.

The RENPHO Wi-Fi Body Composition Scale has been great so far — really solid quality and it looks sleek and modern in the bathroom. The app is easy to use, connects instantly, and gives a surprising amount of detailed insight beyond just weight, which makes tracking progress much more helpful. It works smoothly for multiple users too, and it’s been so reliable that other family members have ended up buying the same one. Highly recommend.

Our previous bathroom scales were getting rather dated and we decided that it was time to replace them. As I like to use lots of mobile phone apps, I was interested in getting a replacement that would link to an app on my phone. I came across this set after looking around on the internet and decided to purchase them. I am not disappointed and like all the different readings which transfer to the phone and store with graphic details.

For the £ these seem excellent for measuring the lbs They are well made, feel and look expensive and we're easy to set up. I have nothing to compare their accuracy to, but they are certainly consistent. If you step on then several times they give the same weight. Bluetooth only connection so phone needs to be close but the connection so far is very quick.

I recently bought some Hume scales on a whim after seeing them on Instagram, but was disappointed. They were about £140, gave inconsistent and unreliable data, and the app was really over complicated. Instead, I got these in sale for £17 - and much prefer them! The app is far cleaner! Wish id bought these first instead, same me £8 on returning the Hume

It is a shame as the scales are good, but unfortunately one of the feet pads fell off within two months of buying it and only a month of unpacking it and using. Clearly a design fault or a manufacturing fault. I contacted product support and this is the response I received. Está diseñada para usarse con su App, la cual no es la más intuitiva pero no está mal. Las funciones de graficas y de comparación entre días son útiles, tiene sonidos para incentivarte cuando logras una meta o advertirte que no te fue bien (opcional). En cuanto a la báscula es bonita, se ve de buena calidad, números grandes y en pantalla brillante para fácil lectura si quisieras sólo verlo en la báscula, aunque la utilidad verdadera está en usarla con su App. Tengo un par de meses usándola y puedo decir que hasta ahora me ha parecido confiable, muy fácil de usar y útil para entender resultados. Creo que por el precio es una buena compra.

La balance est très intuitive à utiliser, l’interface est claire et la synchronisation avec l’application se fait sans aucun souci. La connexion Bluetooth est rapide et stable, ce qui rend l’expérience vraiment agréable. Les mesures corporelles (poids, masse grasse, IMC, etc.) sont cohérentes. J’apprécie particulièrement la réactivité - le poids s’affiche immédiatement et les données sont aussitôt transférées dans l’appli, ce qui permet de suivre son évolution au jour le jour. L’autonomie est également excellente ; après plusieurs mois d’usage régulier, les piles sont toujours presque neuves. Le design mérite aussi d’être souligné. La finition est élégante, le plateau en verre trempé est solide et facile à nettoyer, et l’écran à LED reste lisible même dans une pièce peu éclairée. On peut l’intégrer facilement dans une salle de bain moderne ou une chambre sans qu’elle détonne.
