Cuisinart GC-15 Griddler 1000-Watt Compact Grill Centro DISCONTINUED BY MANUFACTURER

15th of August 2013. A few months after my purchase, a more recent feedback about this wonderful gridler: I did many skewers, with fish, meat, and shrimps previously marinated; I tried to cut smaller pieces of proteins/vegetables, so I could cook 5 at the same time, fantastic and delicious. I did a few kebabs, and big as they were I could put only three at a time; however, my "Weight watchers" French fries cooked on the top without any problems, yummy! I also cooked organic sausages bought at the Fresh market, and they all would fit on the rolls. I am in love with this appliance and I consider this purchase as one of the best I have ever made!!!! I must confess I was terribly disappointed when I realized the skewers were missing, but Amazon solved the problem asap! Great!!! Just having a look at this appliance, I would say it seems to be sturddy (it is a mix of stainless steel and plastic).It is well thought and conceived: there is on the top a reversible grill table for veggies, meat or fish, fruits, etc. On the side of the product there is a thermostat to adjust temperature: low, medium, or high to cook skewers/kebab or hot dogs. It seems the skewers rotate to cook evenly, but I could not see if it works as I missed the skewers....This appliance does not take that much space on the table compared to the griddler I had in Europe which was twice the size...which supposes I could cook many more things at the same time. However, if the size of the reversible grill/griddler on the top is not that big, it should be enough for 4. Moreover, you can cook skewers simultaneously: great!!!!After all, when I decided to buy this griddler, my goal was to sit with friends around the table, so we could talk, cook, and eat at the same time in a convivial atmosphere, a little bit like when we do raclette or fondue(and I love that)!!!! I will write about the kebabs later (once I will have received my skewers :-), patience, patience!!!); I am just looking forward to eat them with French fries and harissa, salad, oignons, white sauce, etc. into a baguette just like North African people serve them in Bordeaux, yummy!!!!!I am skeptical about cooking six hot dogs at the same time, I think 4 would be more realistic...idem for skewers unless you use very small pieces of meat.In general, that is the perfect idea for the ones who do not have/ cannot have a BBQ on their terrasse (for lack of space, safety reasons, etc), but who want to enjoy grilled meat. I suppose it will never be the same result as a real BBQ, but who cares? At least, we will have the aroma, and we will enjoy our summer/winter grilled meals the same!!!The design of this appliance is really nice, and for having already cleaned it, I must say it is quite easy and simple to undo, wash, dry, and put the parts back: the dip trays, the reversible plate and stainless steel drawer are removable and dishwasher-safe.I would be careful if I used it with children around... with its 1000 watts power, the whole griddler must become really hot...At that point, a pair of isolating gloves should be necessary when manipulating the skewers or the appliance itself. I will definitively put the whole thing on a big wooden board I have to protect my table. A negative point I noticed was that the electric thread is really short (around 30/40 cm) so I will have to take an extension cord. That is the reason I gave it four stars rather than 5.

I bought this grill because when weather is not so good I can't travel with my family to the barbeque park that involves a lot to make barbeque for 2 kids, someone has to watch them while I'm cooking.I live in apartment, so this was the best option for me to get - electric grill.I buy marinated chicken and lamb in the Russian store in Brooklyn because till now, I couldn't marinate meat in a way that they do it in my store - making meat so tender and soft.Now, let's review the product itself. It is good when you use a pan on top rather than skewers for meat.What I'm trying to say here is that meat rolls over when skewers are rolling because skewers are so thin and would rotate within the meat that causes meat not to be rolled, the only way around it to cut meat in a longer way and thinner because weight causes meat to roll over the skewers, I wish skewers were wider than they're - that would make meat roll with them.Sometimes, I would cook my meat on the top pan that works great as well.As for the hot-dogs, can't say anything since I have not tried to make them, but I believe that this part will work.My only negative is narrow skewers if you understand what is happening with my meat, I wish them to be wider to hold meat when rolling, not roll by itself leaving meat not rolling against heater.these skewers may be good when you use them for vegatables, but it is not for me.

I love my hot dogs....grilled on rollers, along with the buns toasted. This is the perfect set up. It will only handle five hot dogs at a time, but they cook very fast. Atop the grill I lay out the buns.....nice and toasted with grill marks. I've heated up sauerkraut atop at the same time too.....chili, you name it. FINALLY I have one gadget that fixes my hot dogs to my liking....all at the same time.Forgot to mention...the ease in clean up. All parts come right out and into the dishwasher. I had the rollers pretty crusted up with hot dog juice....but it came out shinny clean.For a large family you might want two of these. The top is only big enough to hold a few buns. If the plan is to grill up some additives, like onions, chili, etc....it would behoove you to have one for that, and the other for buns. Having two would give you the ability to cook up ten dogs at a time also.

This griddler is so convenient. The kebabs come out perfect, and they are so easy to make. I usually do kebabs on the bbq grill, but this is almost as good. I kept the pieces 1-11/2" and didn't have any issues with burning or splatters. The hot dog rollers are great. The best part is not cooking hot dogs in the microwave anymore. With my busy schedule I don't have enough times where I can tend to stuff on the grill that needs to be turned frequently. No need to do that since this does it for me while i'm working on other things. Brats... oh yeah, does those too. throw some sauerkraut and onions on the grill side, throw the brats on the rollers - toast up the buns and you're set. I'm only cooking for one, so this is perfect. Wish I had one of these in college!!!

Love it. Had one I bought off qvc. I gave it to my cousins when he got a divorce. I missed it and purchased this one. This one is a little smaller than the one I purchased from qvc. But it works for me to have it smaller. Better on storage. Love this thing. Cook hot dogs and hamburgers at the same time. Cook shisk-a-bobs on the skews. It does rotate. And, I have cooked sea food on skewers. The top hamburger grill flips over, and you have a flat girl for pancakes, etc.

Mine shipped without the skewers and it cost about as much to send back as it did to get. That said, the vendor was weak, if the product shipped with all parts it would've been fine, these really do work nicely on apples and hot dogs.

Bought it for my son and he is truly enjoying it😊
