Amazing, worth every penny!
I'm a bald dude, have been for 20 years now. Typical male pattern baldness where the back and sides still grow pretty thick and quick but the top is bare. To avoid the Hulk Hogan look I've typically used a combination of electric clippers and traditional razors. Growing weary with that time consuming process, I often just used electric clippers and did the super short thing. Around a month ago, I decided to try one of these "balders". Assuming I wouldn't be thrilled with the results, I decided to save a few dollars and went with the "Remington Balder Pro". To my surprise it worked incredibly well, then it died after 12 days. Since I was happy with the results, I decided to spend the extra $30 to give the Pitbull Gold a run and it has absolutely not disappointed. The shave is a closer one, the battery life is better, the cleaning process is much easier, and I've been using it daily for nearly a month now with no dulling and it still works! This thing has been a total game changer and is superior to the Remington in every possible way. If you're a bald guy trying to figure out if the Pitbull is worth the price, the answer is yes. You get what you pay for. Edit: Nearly 2 years later and I still love this thing. Still the same Pitbull, still used almost daily. Works as well as the day I bought it. Great little device.

Awesome head shaver with great battery life.
This skull shaver works well if you have your hair short enough and keep with it. If your hair is a little longer it will tug at your hair. With that being said the battery life is amazing. Cleaning it is easy. I am very happy with this.

Best head shaver ever...sort of
I think this product is very well built it's super easy to use doesn't make a mess cuz it contains all of the hair and I mean all of it inside the unit itself you don't have to go over spots many many times to make sure that you shave it to the skin and that's definitely not the experience I've had with other head shavers it's super easy to clean and it shows a indication on the unit in an LED digital form of how much capacity is left with the battery so you know when it's time to charge it and you're not overcharging it. They say that every 5 to 6 months you should be changing the head because of blades will get dull I think that might be true but I think if you're using it only on your head this the hair is much softer as opposed to trying to shave your beard with it where that's much more coarse hair I think they would last the blades would last a lot longer just using it on your head alone but it's super comfortable it's easy to grab you either can grab it from the the rear of it which is where the batteries are or you can straddle the unit itself with your index finger and middle finger and get a good grip on it it's designed specifically for that so so far thing has been great and it's definitely the best option I've ever used for a head shaver. UPDATE: After the first 2 weeks I removed the shaver head assembly to clean it as I do after every use and one of the drive arbors that turn the rotary blades sprung off and I can't find the cog or the spring under it...so now only 3 heads work.

Not great, but probably the best option you have
I've been using this line of shavers for about 2 years now. The battery just died on the first one, and I just ordered a replacement so I figured I'd leave a review. First of all - battery issues? Yes. The first two weeks I used my shaver, I thought all the reviews about the poor battery life were either unlucky or outside the norm. Then one day about two weeks in, I started shaving with the battery at 50% and it abruptly died mid-shave. After that I noticed the battery would decrease normally (about 3-5% for each five minute shave), but once it hit around 50 or 60%, the battery would drop 1% every second until it hit zero. I thought this was fine - I have to charge the shaver every week, so what? The problem is, this "battery drop off" point kept creeping higher and higher over the past year and a half until recently, when the battery died as I started shaving at 92%. I had been recharging the shaver after every two shaves already, so I figured this was time to get a new shaver. If the new one follows the same pattern, I'll be reasonably satisfied if the battery gets me through two years. After reading about battery charging and battery life, the plan is to use the shaver until 60%ish battery, then charge up to 90%ish each time - might help, might not. So why buy the same shaver if the first one had such an unreliable battery? I haven't used any other electric head shavers out there, but I had been shaving my head with a safety razor for a few years before I tried the Pitbull. I can't say anything about the other shavers, but my skin is pretty sensitive, so I am hesitant to try new shavers - and the Pitbull is pretty good in this regard. The four bladed (I think it's called the Forte) attachment that comes with the shaver doesn't irritate my skin, and is fairly reliable (I only broke the first one by dropping it multiple times - my bad). I'd say that shaving against the grain with the shaver gets my hair very close to what a safety razor would get (also going against the grain). Obviously it's not quite AS short, but the difference is maybe 6 hours or so of hair growth for me. It's definitely closer than shaving with the grain with a safety razor, and shaving against the grain with a razor can cause irritation for me anyways. So the quality of the shave is fairly good, I only have to shave every 2 days to maintain a clean look. But the best advantage of the Pitbull is TIME. It only takes 5-7min to shave your head, rather than the 20min it would take me with a safety razor. I'd recommend using conditioner on your head when using this shaver, using shave soap and a brush will actually get the blades of the Pitbull coated with soap that doesn't easily come off, and the bristles of the brush will occasionally come off and get sucked into the shaver - which messes with the blades and is annoying to clean. Conditioner is easy to wash off, all you have to do is rinse with hot water, and the shave is smooooooth. TLDR: Buy to save time. Shaves pretty close to safety razor, if not 'baby bottom smooth'. Do a favor and use conditioner instead of all the other shaving products. Yeah, battery kind of sucks.

22 years of shaving my head the "old" way and I'll never go back.
Seriously, I'm in love with this razor and it's becoming a problem because I'm already addicted to the *smoothness.* In the words of Frank from "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" "I just want to be puuuuuurrrree." Anyway... Like I said in the headline, I've been shaving my head for 22 years now using "regular" blades and now I feel like an absolute moron because THE SKULLSHAVER HAS BEEN AVAILABLE FOR 10 FREAKING YEARS AND I COULD HAVE BEEN USING IT THE WHOLE TIME. Seriously, I've long been one of those "lazy" head shaving guys. I work for myself so I never HAD to be well groomed and I'd generally "get around" to shaving every 3 or 4 days at the most (and I'd always go through multiple blades when I did because I'm Lebanese and Italian and grow hair at a truly PROFESSIONAL level. Except on my head. From the ears up I'm... Swedish or something.) ANYWAY... As a snooty blade-using multi-decade head shaving person I always had kind of an ATTITUDE about electric shavers not being able to do as good a job as "regular" blades and I was 1,000 types of wrong and want to personally apologize for my idiocy. Since getting the Skull Shaver Pro 4 days ago I've shaved at least 14 times. At least. I can't help it. I shaved about 2 hours ago and right now sitting here as I type this I kind of want to go do it again. I want to feel that vibrating wonder against my skull. I want to lather up with a thin sheen of shaving cream and send the whole damn device careening across the slick surface of my skin like Mario Kart red shell careening towards its target. I want to be smooth. I want to be pure. I will never go back. I will fight you if you try to take it from me. And I'll look DAMN good doing it because my skull and face will be shiny and clean. P.S. It's honestly a smoother and closer shave than I was getting with my Dollar Shave Club blades and I'm sure this thing will pay for itself many times over. Plus I'm not horrifyingly hairy 3 out of every 5 days anymore. P.P.S. While my wife is somewhat concerned about my current several-times-a-day shaving habit she also says that using the Skull Shaver Pro on my face has, for the first time in our 8 year relationship, meant that when we have sex she can just relax and enjoy herself instead of worrying that my sandpaper cheeks are obliterating her skin. P.P.P.S. The only downside so far is that I seem to be losing track of the passage of time. I'm so used to judging the passing of the days by how thick the hair on my face and the sides of my head are getting. But now I'm just SMOOTH and PURE all the time. ALL THE TIME. I stare in the mirror and see a waxen vampire staring back. And yet I like it. I really like it. And you'll like it too.

Works for a couple of months
Don't buy this, it's not worth it. There are better values out there and the quality of Skull Shaver products is not good. The handles don't last long. I've had several of this model, none that ever lasted longer than the year long warranty. I replaced the shaver head every 3 months due to having course thick hair. The first one lasted 7 months until it began to shut itself off after shaving for 20 seconds. I replaced it through Skull Shaver's warranty program, paying for the "fast track replacement", so I spent $50 including shipping and received a supposedly new shaver handle. Within 2 weeks the same thing happened, the shaver handle turned off on its own after shaving for a few seconds. I bought a new shaver head and the issue with the shaver handle persisted. I then went through another warranty replacement. During the time waiting for the replacement handle I learned how to use the Gillette ProGlide and shaving cream to shave my head the old school way. The replacement that eventually arriaved worked for 4 1/2 months before the handle began to shut itself off on its again. I did another warranty replacement, this time opting for the standard warranty exchange where I ship them the defective handle first then they ship me the replacement. This process took a couple of weeks and I anticipated this so I bought one of the cheap $40 electric head shavers from Amazon. These electric shavers are faster than the old school way I mentioned earlier, so I like to have both available to shave my head and just pick the one that fits best based on the time I have available. This replacement worked for 7 months before it started to shut itself off after a few seconds of shaving. At this point I've gone back to the cheap $40 electric, having replaced the head a couple of times while using the old school method when I have more time. I'm not doing anymore replacements of these skull shavers. It's just not worth the hassle. The heads alone cost as much as a full setup of one of the cheap handle and head combos from Amazon. The replacement heads for those cheaper shavers are half the cost of the Skull Shaver replacement heads and last just as long. There's no step up in quality with Skull Shaver products. A more expensive head shaver may last longer, but at this point I've found a couple of different ways and products that are more reliable and cheaper than the Skull Shaver. So I'm sticking with those.

Worth the money
I leave this review after using this 2-3 months now. Was hesitant to buy it but figured it was worth a shot. Glad I did. Was tired of having to make a whole production of shaving what’s left of the hair on my head with shaving gel and fusion razor. Nothing beats a real blade but the razors get expensive and my scalp gets irritated if I do it a few times a week. With this thing as long as the hair isn’t long you’re done in less than 5 minutes and it’s about as smooth as a baby’s behind. Think I got my entire head done in 3 minutes but kept going over my head because I was in disbelief it worked so well. Ran it down to 30% on battery and it still had same power as at 100%. It’s basically the same thing as a norelco shaver for your face only this is for your head. Easy to use. Easy to hold. Easy to clean. I will say it’s easier to clean shaver heads if you shave your hair when it’s super short at least in my experience. They give a small brush which I lost to clean it so I just use old toothbrush to clean heads every so often. I went from using it 3 times a week to everyday now. And why not? That was the whole point of buying this thing because I didn’t want to have to mess with razors and shaving cream to have a nice smooth bald head everyday. This is fast and easy. I use it dry everyday. 2-3 minutes you’re done. No irritation to my scalp. Nice and smooth every time. This thing is worth every penny if you want a good skull shaver that does the job good. Wish I got this a long time ago. If you’re on the fence about getting it just do it. You won’t be disappointed.

Love This Shaver
The Pitbull surprised me (pleasantly) by delivering everything its makers promised. I wasn't convinced that the shape of this shaver would make a significant difference, but it does! I have a top-of-the-line Braun electric shaver and the Pitbull does a much better job on my head than the Braun. The Braun gives my face and neck a closer shave than the Pitbull so I use them both, but if I had to only have one, it would be, hands down, the Pitbull. The Pitbull won't give your head as close a shave as a HeadBlade LE Moto Men's Head Shaving Razor, but it will give you one that's pretty darn close. Maybe not close enough for a date or important meeting, but close enough for your normal daily routine; including going into the office...and I say this as someone who never used an electric shaver when I worked in an office (and had a full head of hair) You can use the Pitbull "wet" or "dry." I feel like the "wet" shave is a bit closer, but it also takes longer since you have to keep the blades clean and not gummed up with shave gel. Most days when I use it I shave "dry" and it's still really close. It's easy to clean during a "wet" shave. Keep a shallow container (I use a small plastic food storage container my wife had bought) next to the sink, and rather frequently, dip the heads into the water and run the shaver for about 5 seconds. This will clean out all the collected shave gel (you can see a strangely satisfying cloud of the stuff appear in the water) I replace the water after each cleaning which may sound like a PITA, but it's not. I bought the Gold Model. The Platinum Model is the exact same razor but it comes with a "carrying case" which I don't think is necessary since both models come with a plastic guard for the blades, and a "cleaning tray." I think the Platinum Model cost $20 more and I guarantee you that a small plastic food container is a lot less and works just as well. I got my Pitbull in mid-May, use it, on average, 4-5 days a week and the battery is at 72% charged. BTW the digital battery charge display is a great feature that I wish I had on all my battery-powered devices. When I bought this shaver, I had just decided to fully shave my head and was using the Braun. Frankly, I think I had gotten caught up in the new look because I really didn't have high expectations for the Pitbull My past general disappointment with electric shavers had led me to spend too much money on the Braun and still being disappointed so I pretty much expected the same with the Pitbull. I was, however, very pleasantly surprised and a few friends who own one too all agree. The thing really delivers on its promises.

Bought 3 years ago, still using and it works fine, especially the battery is still strong and keep going like it was at the time of purchase. Which make this product truly amazing

Bald guy's best friend!!!
Started shopping when my Philips 5000 series stopped working after 5yrs. I used it to close-trim my head as well. While Pitbull seemed great, I was super skeptical at first due to the price tag of $198+13% Canadian tax. BUT, after using it once, while I still feel it is overpriced, it could be an absolute must for someone like me who would love the following: - No hair spill - Quick and efficient - Great battery. Took 3 to 4 minutes to shave my head and I still have 94% left. - Low motor noise - Almost close shave - Easy to hold, use, and clean - Waterproof, with the ability to use with cream/foam and also in a shower Verdict: Go for it if you can afford 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Concerns: -Will it work for at least few years? I hope so. Can't spend this kinda money every year. -Doesn't work perfectly around the ear-sideburn part. And, will not recommend this for facial hair, you need a different shaver/trimmer for that.

Good quality and easy to use.
I bought this so that I can shave my head myself instead of asking someone to help. It can shave easily, save time and best is I can now do it by myself.
