First day, really good so far!
Got this so that I would not need to upgrade my 7.1 reciever which only supports HDCP 1.4 30hz 4K passthrough, without HDR, so basically no 4K. Got it all set up, working great so far, PS4 pro is now able to use full video capabilities with my LG Cinebeam projector and the full audio capabilities of my reciever simultaneously. One thing noteworthy is the device states it only supports 5m length for the video output, but I am running a 35ft cable to my projector just fine so far. I am using a 2.3a 5v USB power source instead of the 1a one provided (built into my power strip), so maybe this is helping. If I end up needing to get a signal booster, I'll update here.Getting ARC to kick in took a little longer than expected, but once it was there, it was good... There is a footnote on the instructions that say ARC is not supported when the toggle is set to 7.1, and to set the toggle to PASS instead... but I didn't need to do this, so I'm not sure what the story is there, though I think pressing Audio Copy on the remote helped my ARC kick in, and this button is not very well explained, so perhaps "pass" is just pass-through and can support whatever audio the source is sending, and Audio Copy is a way to temporarily enable this without changing the toggle? If this is true, I'm not sure why anyone would use anything but PASS all the time. I will experiment a little more here. Pass/audio copy functions are not very well explained in the booklet. One thing I was worried about was any added lag between audio and video, or potentially an increase response time for gaming, but I haven't noticed any issues with either yet.I am not able to see my reciever's menu overlay anymore without feeding its video output into one of the 4 inputs on the device, but that solution worked, and I have some 1080p devices I can daisychain in this way too.Nice and small footprint, but would have preferred a taller or wider box if it meant being able to port all of the cables out of the back. Porting power on one side, (required) and video out on the other (also required), makes for awkward placement options when you still need to port all of the inputs and audio output in the back.

Does The Job *UPDATED*
Update 2I discovered that my issue may have been related to a problem with the USB connector in the Tendak. Eventually the device would not power up. I opened the device and bent the USB pin structure down just a bit. So far there are no issues with the functions of the switch.Update:Within the last week or two this switch has developed issues with HDMI handshake with two different source devices. The only solution seems to be to remove power from the switch, then reconnect power after a few seconds; sometimes two attempts are necessary. I have sent Tendak a technical support request and they have not answered. I sent another request today and will wait three business days for a response. My gut feeling is that this device is a loss, even though it is within the one year warranty period. If so, I’ll spend more money on a J-Tech switch, as they have a US-based support team and previously answered a pre-sales question for me.Original Review:This replaced an Avenk 4K HDMI splitter and extractor that stopped passing 1080P output from one of my devices. The manufacturer of the Avenk did not respond to two inquiries for support. The Tendak has worked flawlessly and even integrates with my Logitech Harmony remote. I haven’t explored all the capabilities - I don’t even have a 4K display. But for my current installation it’s very useful. The only thing I consider a negative is the placement of the HDMI output connection, which is on one side of the unit.

Ordered a Replacement, works perfect but no HDMI-CEC
I gave this product another chance, got a replacement, and it's working perfectly except for HDMI-CEC. Make sure you disconnect your ARC from your TV. Even if you turn off your TV's ARC connection you will probably need to unplug it from your receiver. Once I did this I got it to work perfectly. I haven't tried to plug it back in yet since I only need to use my TV's "smart" functions as a network player and I have a 4K Blu-ray player for this. I have been needing this product since I learned my Samsung KS8000 can't passthrough Dolby Digital Plus or any other audio format than Dolby Digital and DTS. Rokus don't have the option like Fire TVs to select Dolby Digital as the audio; which makes everything that doesn't play in DD+ either mute or in stereo. My Yamaha RX-V75 supports DD+ and other formats but only supports 4k/30fps so this was a perfect purchase.

Was great until Video stopped working but hassle free customer service helped get a replacement.
The product does what it is intended to do and is easy to set up. Just connect the Input and output cables and it worked. I I was able to split my audio and video to my non 4k receiver and 4k projector from multiple input devices. Picture and sound quality was great from all sources. However, after about 3 months, the video stopped working on the projector. I have checked and cables and devices are working properly so the problem seems to the in the Tendak HDMI switch.I contacted tendak through amazons customer service and they are trying to trouble shoot. The particular piece I have might be defective and I will update the review post resolution with Tendak.Update : The tendak team was very responsive and quickly sent me a replacement product at no cost. All is well and working again in the media room.I might have a defective piece originally and appreciate true prompt hassle free service which helped fix the problem.

Fixed my amp/receiver video problem
My Marantz amp/receiver was having problems with video output to my projector. It was slowly getting worse as it took hours for it to warm up enough for consistent video without going to a black screen and a no data error. The amp was still great for surround sound, phono, bluetooth etc so this hdmi switch with sound extraction worked perfectly. I connected my cable box, apple tv and playstation to the inputs, attached the hdmi sound out to the amp and the video hdmi to the projector. I get perfect sound and video now. Easy to use. The only issue is that the switch uses the same remote signals as my cable box. I simply leave the little remote covering the lights and the sensor. Not a big deal.

Excelente
