Question 1

Lycopene is red. Why are these capsules not red?

Accepted Answer

The capsules are colorless and transparent. The contained powder is pale yellow-to-pink. I think the color is consistent with the label: 50 mg of 5% lycopene in a total weight (including capsule) of 640 mg.

Question 2

I have bought other brands of lycopene and the powder in the capsule is red. But why is this lycopene powder white?

Accepted Answer

I no longer use this brand and I don't know why it's white.
I know use NusaPure Lycopene & Lutein Complex 50 mg. The powder is reddish orange.
Hope this helps you.

Question 3

Why are the not red?

Accepted Answer

Hello Susan, the vegetarian capsule is white but the powder inside the capsule is red. Thanks!

Question 4

how many carbs does it raise blood sudar in t2d

Accepted Answer

Even protein powder raises one's blood sugar. The rate of digestion is what is important Protein powder digests more rapidly than tissues can utilize it and the liver converts the excess into glucose.

Working backward, a blood level of 80 mg per deciliter translates to about 8 grams of glucose in circulation. Just 8 grams of pure glucose is less than 2 teaspoons.

The same 8 grams of protein powder would result in almost the same blood glucose. There are plenty of natural whole-food starches that digest more slowly and some, termed "resistant" starches do not become glucose at all but ferment like soluble fiber.

For years the ADA recognized that T2D is far more driven by lack of muscle than by "how many carbs".

Recently worked muscle mass exposes the GLUT4 transporter with little or no insulin present. Muscle can absorb glucose more rapidly than you can digest it.

Eat minimally processed foods and start working out. You won't need to ask about "how many carbs".
